Tired of all the fast food Italian restaurants in town? Looking for a good place to get some homemade Italian food? Look no further.
This little gem of a restaurant is located right off the freeway in South Fort Worth. Sure, on the outside it doesn't look like a typical Italian restaurant.
But on the inside? Is a relaxed casual atmosphere. You don't have to dress up to come here. Any working-class Joe can walk in just as they are.
If you've never been here before, then be prepared to spend just a little bit of time perusing the menu of fabulous items that they have to offer. From pasta to pie, or maybe you're hankering for a stromboli, they offer it all.
Now once you order? While you're waiting for them to prepare your delicious meal oh, you get a complimentary basket of rolls and butter to munch on while you're waiting.
On my first visit here, I decided to go for the beef ravioli. And I was not disappointed! When I got my plate of food oh, I was pleasantly surprised. The ravioli was covered in gravy AKA sauce, and covered with fresh mozzarella. And it was fresh mozz! Anyone that knows their Cheese's knows that fresh mozzarella on an Italian Dish has a silky smooth texture to it and will just simply melt in your mouth like butter.
The gravy AKA sauce, was definitely homemade. It was a straightforward, basic, homemade gravy full of flavor. And the ravioli? Most definitely homemade.
The ravioli itself was not heavy at all like some typical American pasta are. That's how you know if you're getting authentic Italian ravioli as the pasta itself for the ravioli will not be heavy at all.
But that beef meat filling was seasoned perfectly and silky smooth. So if you worried about if you could eat this dish without teeth? The answer is yes, you can. That's how delicate and light the ravioli is. I can't Rave about this dish enough.
But I tell you what... Next time around? I'm definitely going to order the pie. Okay... Or maybe the Philly cheesesteak. Or maybe both!
So if you want to come to a restaurant, with homemade food, a relaxed atmosphere, don't have to dress up for, this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe ordered through Grub Hub and found half of our order missing! The driver confirmed that he delivered all that he had been provided. When I called, the phone was picked up while the young lady who eventually answered was talking to someone at the counter, just holding the phone. When I apprised her of the issue, she argued that the half of the order that was missing should be "on bottom." I told her again that it had not come with the order (the bags of which were stapled to prevent tampering in-transit); and, she said that she could make another one if I called to have someone pick it up - so, I have to incur another delivery charge for something that they screwed up. She also told me that, despite what the listing on Grub Hub (which is provided by the restaurant) says, they don't do salads as included sides for Grub Hub or Door Dash. As I argued on the point that this is false advertising, she admitted that they provide the listings, but that I would have to speak with the manager who was not available. Similarly, when I argued about having to arrange to pick up the newly-made item, she said that they could not have someone deliver it to me even though it was their fault. On top of that, the item I ordered (Pasta Trio) seemed just thrown together, such that you cannot tell where the lasagna ends and the veal parmigiana begins (see attached pic). Horrible and unresponsive service, and extremely poor presentation. My wife wanted something ooey, gooey and cheesy; but, Joe's failed miserably - thank goodness she had ordered the antipasta salad or she would not have had anything to eat; and, it seems that Joe's didn't care a bit and were almost gleeful in their response to...
Ā Ā Ā Read morePizza is a hit and miss. Sometimes it's great, other times it's just OK. I haven't eaten inside yet, so I am not sure if it's due to different people making the pizzas. The marinara sauce has a hint of cinnamon in it, which I loved, but if you have food allergies be aware. Since I always order pickup, they keep forgetting my salad. Pasta dinners according to their menu comes with bread and salad. I would strongly advise that you check your order before leaving. Stromboli was tasty and cheesy, but didn't have enough meat for me, but again lots of cheese! Spaghetti with mushrooms was disappointing. I was expecting chunks or slices of mushrooms. Instead they were finely diced and mixed in with the meat sauce so I couldn't see the quantity of mushrooms that was included. Meatball and Philly subs were tasty, but not enough filling. Too much bread to filling ratio. I was still hungry after eating the Philly sub. My meatball sub didn't have any cheese. I was expecting a layer of melted cheese on top of my sub so it was disappointing. I ordered a couple of family meals. Spaghetti with meatballs and lasagna. The food was great. Quantity actually fed 10 people as advertised. Again, they forgot the family sized salads. The lasagna is made to order so you don't get a slice of layered lasagna. It's different so you may prefer their method but I prefer the old fashioned layered lasagna. Overall, the food is delicious. But I probably won't be back for awhile due to forgotten items and the cost...
