This was my first time at Liberty. The parking lot is on the smaller side. In-between my parking spot and the one next to me, was a sign that said "Disabled Parking Pass Only". I have no idea which spot this was in reference to. I walk up to the front door and was surprised to see that you have to step up onto a ledge to open the front door and enter. This seems dangerous. An inebriated person or someone that can't see well in the dark could definitely have an accident and get hurt.
So I walk in, the bartenders and the people sitting at the bar look at me but no one greeted me. Strange. I walk over to the mens bathroom and enter it. It's pretty typical. A sink, urinal and toilet stall. Except the stall is built into the corner of the room. By that I mean the stall is triangular. I have no idea how a person in a wheelchair would use the stall. I'm able bodied and I barely fit in there. Also the stall's bag hook was broken. There appeared to be a mini chalk board above the broken hook. I did not see any chalk, however.
I finish my business and walk back into the lounge area. The establishment is very dimly lit and has a faint old people smell. The walls are an aggressive blood red and decorated with various artworks. The floor was black and white checkerboard. There were 2 TVs, one was playing The Big Bang Theory. The other was on but it wasn't being used, so it was just displaying it's screen saver.
A customer had brought in their little white dog, which was laying on the floor. Remember how I said the place was dimly lit and the floor was black and white checkerboard? Well, thankfully I didn't step on the thing, but I almost did cause he blended in with the flooring. Also ew? The germs? The owner doesn't care his dog is just laying on a bar's floor? The bar isn't concerned about people's allergies?
So then I walked to the back patio area which smelled of cigarettes. I assume that's where the mild old person smell came from.
The bartenders and patrons are predominantly Caucasian and looked to be between their 30's and 50s. Some older. If you're a POC and or in your 20s, you may feel out of place.
As it stands, I doubt I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRACIST!!!! I donāt recommend this place for people of color. My lady and I went to this bar in hopes of spending some money and having a good time. When we walked in we immediately went to the bathroom first. As we were walking to the bathroom we were later trailed by this white woman. My lady and I were sharing a stall using the restroom and the woman comes in yelling (BAY BAYS) over and over. First off, it was another bathroom open to use so we werenāt holding up the line. As we were using the restroom I seen her peeking through the stall looking at us. She continuously kept yelling out (BAY BAYS) until we finished using the restroom and came out. When we addressed the situation and asked what the problem was she told us we could leave the establishment and that we canāt be doing āany of that hereā. ANY OF WHAT? Using the bathroom and being black?
(LISTEN. The establishment had a total of 8 cars with 9 people, LMAO get outta here)
Yeah, aight. We took our coins right across the street to āREFLECTIONSā and had a great time. The energy was everything and a lot of Love was shown. I definitely Recommend āREFLECTIONSā if youāre looking for a good time.
However, I didnāt appreciate the racial discrimination that was displayed to us at Liberty and being referred to as āBAY BAYā that could have went left really quick š But we kept it cute. This place will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere is a drain hole going right by the patio door and was covered by just a rubber bar mat! I tried to explain to them it was dangerous they needed a metal grate over that drain. The employees just walk around it so much I guess they donāt even think about these things anymore!
To address the owner there was No metal grate only rubber bar floor mats! You need to assess your building! I have others that were with me that can attest to the same thing I have reported! I had to have my ankle X-rayed I have plenty of witnesses of the situation you need to learn to apologize and assess your building. There were no obvious signs about the open hole in your entry way! I am not trying to be a pain even though I in pain still! If there was an email option on your website I would have actually done that to keep this out of the public eye so you could address it before you get sued ! I trying to...
