Update: Jordan from Coco Shrimp sent me an email of apology and offer of free food. Their shrimp really is delicious and the closest thing to Giovanni's Shrimp Truck in Hawaii! Much appreciated!
Not cool Coco Shrimp....
I put in an online order, while sitting in front of the restaurant, at 1:28 pm. The order said it would take 30 minutes with delivery at 1:58 pm. I debated canceling the order because I had 3 hungry kids at home (30 minutes away). But because I know the shrimp is delicious, I went ahead and ordered. I checked in with the staff at 1:50 pm just to let them know I was there and waiting. Then at 2:03, five minutes passed the designated time I checked back in and the lady in the back said, "Oh your order isn't supposed to be ready until 1:58". I said, "Yes, that was 5 minutes ago and I already waited 30 for the order." She replied, "Sorry we are just busy today." My order did not get to my hands until 2:17. That is a 45 minute wait.
I understand being busy but it is important to be up front with your delivery time. If it was going to take 45 min it is important to make sure your customer knows this so they can make a decision to stay or go! And the kicker is...I watched the girl pack 3 boxes at 2:00, then about 5 min later she added 1 more box and then at 2:16 the final 3 boxes were packed. That is a 16 time span. Serving cold shrimp is not good for business either. At 2:10, I finally asked about my order after watching 4 more orders go out, in between my order. Then the last and final straw for poor customer service was when the same CoCo Shrimp server handed my 2 bags to me without a word. Not even a "Thank you for waiting" or "So sorry for the delay". It was an extremely disappointing experience that cost me 45 min of my time and $99 of my hard...
Read moreAs expected, the fort worth location is the worst location and i wont be returning and do not recommend. Everything from the food, to the atmosphere was unbearable. There was one sweet girl who had my order remade for me with kindness, which is the reason for the 1 star instead of 0 stars 😉. Upon entry there were several employees, yet the joint was filthy and unorganized. I was extremely uncomfortable with people just standing around everywhere with no guidance or direction. I opened my food prior to leaving and saw that the food presentation was a mess and all over the place and my avocado was in the box with my rice instead of with my salad. I got to the car to try the rice and had to have them remake that salty crap. Im used to the flavorful rice at the plano and richardson locations. Salt is NOT flavor. Flavor is flavor. There were a bunch of little kids running around that place making a bad mark on the coco shrimp brand for me. Really, this was partially my fault as I know that the food in forth worth is terrible from fast food chains to the nicer restaurants. Forth worth residents just simply CANNOT cook. I have been recommended to try some of the "best" foods people have had in fort worth. All of the "best" food has turned out terrible and beyond inedible for someone who KNOWS good food. These forth worth people and anyone moving to forth worth from outside texas just do not know good food. But hey, you might like it. But of course, if you do, you DONT KNOW GOOD FOOD. Anyway, this location is not consistent with the overall experience with coco shrimp for me. Go to any one but fort worth and the surrounding forth worth area if you're a REAL foodie who knows good food. Until the next critical review, later...
