If you think that this is authentic Mexican food than you have never been to Mexico After living there for the past few years I can honestly say that I have had better food on the streets in Mexico than in this restaurant. I guess if you are used to having panchos type of quality food then yes, you would like the food here. The salsa was weak and watered down and had no bite to it at all. I guess that's for the white people who cook without any imagination. There were six of us and we all agreed that our meals had very little meat and a ton of sour cream filler. Ever eaten in Mexico and had a meal like that with little meat and tons of sour cream?. The portions do not compare to authentic servings either. You don't get hearty portions here just enough to meet decent requirements. The margaritas were screaming for more alcohol as they tasted like pure mix. I should have had a beer. The only thing decent about our meals were the rice and beans. How come with all these restaurants claiming to be authentic you never see barbacoa or cabritto on the menu? In Mexico its on every menu every where. And what about my favorite, menudo? What's up with the tortilla chips? You can barely get any salsa on them because they are like large fritoes. This place is simply an idea of getting Mexican food for those who have never been to Mexico. It's like going to a fast food Chinese restaurant and think you are an expert on Chinese food. Don't get me started there. All in all id say to get an El Chico frozen dinner, heat it up, then drive to hemphill street and eat it. That is about as close to authentic as compared to eating at the Mexican Inn. Good...

My family and close friends were celebrating a birthday and chose this place to eat at. Because it was a birthday party, there was presents, cupcakes, etc. So, with that being said there was a lot going on. But anyway, my family and I order our food, the food comes, we eat our food, and we sit and talk, you know what people do at restaurants. My family and I get ready to leave and we ask for to-go bags(mind you there are 2 to-go bags). So because it was somewhat hectic, one of my family members left her food on accident. So we get home and realize that we left a bag. So my said family never called the restaurant to see if someone had picked up a to-go bag, and a man answers the phone. When I tell you this was the worst customer service I have experienced in my entire life it was absolutely HORRID, APPALLING, RIDICULOUS the list goes on and on. The man who answers the phone claims he’s the MANAGER and he was rude and so disrespectful. This man took smart Aleck to a whole new level. And did I not mention that he was very rude and very disrespectful to the point where he hangs up in so called family members face. I did not get all of the details that happened over the phone, but I’m just advising you if you want at least half way decent food and half way decent costumer service, DO NOT EAT HERE! Very unprofessional for my experience. And will never return! If I could give this place zero stars I would but I have to put 1 in order to...

We had an unfortunate experience at this location. It is very nice that they provide you with complimentary corn tortillas along with their chips and salsa. However, are corn tortillas were undercooked. The salsa was not to our liking, to us it tasted as if someone dumped a can of diced tomatoes and a few chopped Jalapeno seeds into a bowl and called it salsa. The chips are okay just not made for dipping. My husband ordered the chicken enchiladas which he only took one bite of and asked the server to exchange which she did without any problem for cheese enchiladas. Let's chicken enchiladas seem to have much more red sauce the necessary which overpowered the sour cream sauce that's not to our liking. The cheese enchiladas are poorly stuffed and the chili con queso was more like a watered-down wolf brand chili which we also did not enjoy. The refried beans have good flavor and the rice at least my serving has good flavor unfortunately my husband serving looked as if it had been dried out and sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. The server was over sat and did her best to keep up with everyone's request did a great job keeping the...

Freddy to the rescue!!! There was only one waiter his name is Freddy. He is a waiter today but tomorrow he will be running the place or maybe the world. He never slowed down, stopped, or even acted like he had a care in the world. He never lost his genuine smile or the spring in his step. Sometimes you can just tell when a man is a man of Faith. His demeanor was that of, every customer was his only customer. My food came out within moments of ordering it and it was delicious. I had been very disappointed the last time I came here. Freddy earned the place a bump up from 3 stars to 5 stars. If you visit, ask for Freddy and tip big!!! Past review The food was not great, the service was iffy and I think they may have forgotten our order. The server would come around from time to time to tell us our food should be right out but in reality it took the better part of an hour. On the upside, the chips were better than most of the other Mexican Inn's. They were not greasy at all the sauce was good also.

Overall: This was our first visit here and this place was honestly a SOLID 4! The food was delicious, but there was still room for improvement with the service and atmosphere. However, that's really not that important because the food is GOOD! Food: ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND SINCERELY APPEARS TO BE MADE COMPLETELY FROM SCRATCH! Everything tasted so fresh, we thought they had their own garden, cows, pigs, chickens in the back. The tortillas are legendary and we couldn't get enough. Highly recommend eating here at least once. We'll be back. Atmosphere: it's pretty much bleh. Wouldn't go there to watch a sporting game, but would go to enjoy the moment and just relax. So it's just a different type of feel. Service: just regular service. Not bad but also not life changing. They did there job and that's all anyone can ask for. Parking: not too much but enough. It's on the corner of the street. We will return and the Cafe has a rich history.

The chips as usual are warm, comforting, and delicious with a great salsa brought by our informative nice waiter. We all got the lunch specials, the fajitas, nacho platter, and the chalupa/enchilada platters. The fajitas were great, with the beef being the favorite. The chicken nachos however leave a lot to be desired as the chips used for them tasted no bueno. Kinda ruined the entire nacho. I think the oil was old or something but after I put the scraped off nacho toppings in a hot tortilla I was transported via tortilla magic carpet to the land of Yummmmm. The cheese enchiladas were freaking amazing with a bright snap of chili lingering long after the cheesy magic was consumed, making me want to steal the rest of my dining companions enchilada platter and vanish into the night, never to be seen again.
