I love Mexican Inn. The locAtion on 8th and Allen avenue is one of my favorites. I was there yesterday, around 1:45ish, to pick up takeout. Tho I frequent this location on a regular basis, this visit was not a pleasant experience. The young lady at the counter did not greet me. She seemed put upon when I said hello to her. She did not reply back to my greeting. She slowly and grudgingly took my order for chips and salsa all, still without talking . When I paid her with cash, I held out my hand to receive my change, she looked at my hand, then placed the money on the counter and turned away without saying one word to me. When the lady from the back brought out my order, the cashier spoke to her in Spanish then laughed. The lady from back looks up at me , I said thank you and she smiled and left. The cashier still without saying anything sets my order on the counter then turns away. I ask her if i may have a receipt. She looks at me rudely gets a receipt from the register, lays it in upon the counter, then turns away. I myself was really taken aback by her rudeness. I say to her "thank you. You know you are not very friendly at all." She glances my way, looks at me as tho she did not see me, 12th en back to ahatever she was doing . Without saying anything. as i heard her speak to the lady from the back, i knows is capable of speech. I heard her ask the people behind me how many were in their party. So I am totally confused about her interaction with me. I left without asking for her manager. However, I wish I had asked to speak with a manager. I feel the front person at any type of business, in any contact with the public/customer, should be welcoming. I am not saying that this person should kiss my butt, but they should, at the least, acknowledge my business and presence. It's called common courtesy. Its fundamental business. It's customer service 101. I received the exact opposite of what should be. I was and am, very disappointed with this trip to this Mexican Inn, as the experience with this young woman made the food secondary and unspectacular. Shame on her. Mexican Inn deserves better representation and I deserve...
Read moreRead moreThe Mexican Inn Café – As a recent homeowner in the Fairmount Historical district of Fort Worth, Texas and needing a caterer for a Birthday celebration I searched yelp* with way too many choices. After much research and difficult pricing decision to make I took a deeper dive into the website for the Mexican Inn Café. What I found was lots of happy folks with both food and the restaurant. Next step was asking around for personal experience and found again lots of happy folks. Last step was a personal visit to check out the food. Well, that was a pleasant surprise for a restaurant that has been there for 60 + years – great food – great service and impressive service personal. Making the arrangements for the catering service was easy and working with Annette Rosas far exceeded my expectations. On the day of the birthday party the food arrived on time and their set-up service was excellent. OH, those yummy food smells. Everything looked delicious, was well prepared and the display was a treat to the eye. In addition - all was an enormous success from the party goers’ praises … except for there being little left over for me to enjoy the next dayLOL. I would like to recommend the Mexican Inn Café 8th Street in Fort Worth and Annette Rosas to anyone in need of catering services or an excellent place to eat. Thank you Annette for making my chose an excellent one – You...
Hello, the Mexican Inn location was one of our go-to restaurants in the past. We moved away and we are back in F/W for a visit. Our waiter gave us the menu and served our drinks. So I order the chicken fajitas . The menu was pretty clear. Chicken Fajitas on a bed on vegetables with beans, rice, and your choice of Cheese or Guacamole. So I ordered the cheese. Our waiter said the there is an up charge for cheese. So I showed him the menu. It says Cheese or Guacamole. He told me they recently changed the computer system and now everything is an up charge. We continued to discuss and he would not add Cheese or Guacamole without an up-charge. So now my grand-daughter is discussing this with the waiter. I told everyone to stop and I will just get the fajita burrito. Our food arrived and I got Cheese and Guacamole with my burrito without any up-charge. The food was luke-warm. Not even hot. The plate was not hot as most Mexican serving plates are. Totally disappointed. Lastly our waiter told us that the menu still needs to be revised. Totally terrible experience. Note to the Mexican Inn management.....Gee whiz folks - get a menu that matches your ordering computer system. I will...
