UPDATE: They seem to have gotten their phone system fixed and getting in touch with the doctor or nurse (or just a live person) is a LOT better, now. They've also been quick to respond to our calls and concerns, so I'm updating my review to reflect this.
I really like the doctor that is treating my dad. She worked him in on very short notice and took the time to listen. She didn't seem rushed, and she set up the tests he needed, right away. But, trying to get through to someone on the phone in this office is absolutely horrible. You hold and hold, then end up getting transferred to voice-mail. I have no idea if they even listen to their voice-mail because nobody returned any of our calls. Also, I am totally unimpressed with the receptionists and whoever is responsible for calling in prescriptions. My dad went in for an appointment over a week ago, at which time he told the doctor that he was very low on one med and completely out of all the others. We called the pharmacy during that office visit and had the required pre-authorization form faxed right over so he could get his meds ASAP. A full week went by as we waited, called, and waited some more. Finally, I got through to a live person today and was told "his prescriptions were filled by another doctor." She wanted to just leave it at that and let me go. But, that was filled over a month ago..it's the med he's low on. When I pushed further that no meds had been called in since our appointment over a week ago, I was asked to hold. At that point, I heard the woman whisper to someone, "She's NOT going to let me off the phone." Not professional. If you're going to be snotty, at least mute the phone, first. She finally transferred me to a nurse. I have to say the nurse was very polite and apologized many times for their lousy phone system. She said she'd be upset if it were her dad trying to get his medicines, as well. She did check on his prescriptions and called me right back with information. She offered samples until the prescription could go through. I really appreciate that. What I didn't appreciate was the fact that nobody from the office told us (while we were there, or even during the whole week we've been waiting) that we needed to go to his general physician for 2 of the meds. That was pretty important information because we could've called for those and probably had them 7 days ago! All of this hasn't left a very positive impression on any of our family. I hate for my review to hurt the doctor or staff that are trying to do their jobs well, but there are some serious issues in that office if it's that difficult to contact them and get the medicines you need. Perhaps when they get their phone system straightened out (and maybe receptionists who are more polite/helpful) it will be a different story. Until then, I can't recommend this...
Read moreWhile I share others' frustrations w/ communication issues, I find that the majority of the many doctors' offices suffer from this same troublesome issue. I fear this is what medical care has come to. However, if you can muster your patience, don't give up too soon. I've been a patient here over 5 years and have nothing but respect for the members in this practice. There have been a few times I may have felt dismissed, but those times are very few. My previous PCP referred me to this team as they had treated his own mother. I trusted his judgement....
Read moreAbsolutely awful. I’m sure the Drs are great once given the chance to actually get an appointment and get anything done! I’ve been trying to schedule a biopsy for 3 weeks now and nothing! Every time you call the office they’re so rude and have the worst attitude, and you never speak to who you need to speak to it’s always “I left a note and they’ll call you back”. Looking for a new Dr now, clearly they don’t care...
