I'm an omnivore, but my son and daughter-in-law are exploring the vegan lifestyle, and so I went with them to be supportive. My mind is always open to new kinds of foods. We started with the vegan nachos, and when they came, wow, was I surprised! It was a plate of chips piled with lovely toppings, like cheese sauce, beans, guacamole, toppings (made with quinoa, maybe?) and even a sour-cream-ish sauce. Even better? When we dug into those and realized we weren't missing ANYTHING without the meat products! Nope, it didn't taste exactly like meat nachos, but it had a lovely taste of its own! My son and I ordered burgers. They came on huge sesame seed buns, his loaded with jalapenos and some 'pretend bacon' which again, wasn't bacon, but it did have a pleasing, hearty flavor and texture. Mine was also very delicious and I didn't feel at all deprived after having no meat or cheese. The potato salad was also quite good. It looked a little bit 'green', but tasted like...potato salad! I tasted one of my daughter-in-law's meatballs (from her spaghetti and meatballs) and it, too, was delicious! Best of all, for dessert, we had a turtle brownie sundae, and THAT, my friends, was scrumptious. The ice cream might have been just a tad more 'icy' than real ice cream, but it had a sweet, rich flavor and the Brownie was absolutely one of the best brownies I've ever tasted! I also enjoyed the decor, which was bright and welcoming, and the wait staff, who all helped each other, were knowledgeable without being intrusive, were in a good mood, and genuinely seemed to enjoy working there. The diner was over half full on a Thursday at 2 pm, which speaks for itself. The people there were talking and laughing together and SEEMED like 'normal' people. Maybe, vegans are losing their image as fanatics that cannot be taken seriously?? Before we left, I picked up a box of goodies including one of those brownies, a cranberry oatmeal cookie, a lemon poppyseed mini-bundt, and a "Mexican Hot Chocolate cookie". They also had a selection of vegan products in the lobby for purchase, such as Nutritional Yeast, vegan cheeses, and vegan jerky. This was a truly unique AND delicious place to go, and I can't believe it took me so long to try it. I will DEFINITELY be returning!!

I like the concept of a vegan diner with a wide array of options, but Spiral has been really hit or miss. My experience tonight was particularly disappointing. On my way through the metroplex on a road trip, I was craving breakfast for dinner and Spiral seemed like a good idea. Halfway through ordering I realize that they don’t have any sausage, so there goes like half of your breakfast options. The only substitution was bacon and I hesitantly chose it with the Lumberjack plate. Aside from taking an astonishing 45 minutes to put together the single, small entree on a Monday evening, the plate was rather mediocre. The tiny portion of tofu scramble was flattened like a pancake by the container of gravy. I’m not sure if that was an accident or an attempt to make the scramble look bigger. It was only enough for a few bites and it had a very dry flavor profile of salt and pepper with nothing more. No veggies or sauce? I cringed when I bit the bacon. It was dreadfully dry and I find most vegan bacon pretty bad. This was no exception. Tempeh bacon or even a moist burger would have improved this dish, which was very dry and lifeless. The biscuit was was OK and the only redeeming aspect of the entree was the gravy. Not only were they out of sausage, but I was informed that they only had spoons to-go. I passed on the utensil. Slow service, bland food and just too expensive given the quality. Vegan food has come a long way over the years. Gone are the days where it’s hard to find tasty vegan meals. I’m not sure why Spiral is unable to grow and evolve with the times. Maybe this is part of why the Dallas location recently shut down? I like the idea, but they’ve become too inconsistent. I’ve had a few good meals in the past, but tonight was not one of them. In fact, tonight’s meal was maybe 2/5 stars.

Let me say that when I first tried this place it was at their other location in Dallas, which is now closed Regardless they have the same great atmosphere, customer service and quality in food The vibes give off late 70s theme which is super cool! I had many different items one of which was shared. 1st of all I love me a good chips and queso combo and with their The Loaded Queso & Chips I was not disappointed at all. The taste was delectable, it gave me that happy feelings that Maze and em was talking about. The Nacho Supreme were good. It is VERY large in portion size, that was the shared item. There is a Jr size available as well. Now, this BIG KAHUNA BURGER BABBBYYY, that thing was thinging you hear me. It had the beyond meat, grilled pineapple, pickled jalapeños, melted cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and mayo. Talk about tasteful! It was seasoned well, all of the toppings complemented with each other. Just umm umm good!! The Cookies & Cream Shake completed the flavorful experience with a lightly sweetened plethora of flavor. The overall meal was a 10/10. Overall Experience 10/10!!! It makes me sad to post this review. The fact that it's taken more than 6 months to write out my horrible last experience speaks volumes. I used to eat at this restaurant multiple times a month... for years. Unfortunately, things have really gone downhill in the past couple years. Service has problems, prices don't always reflect food quality.

The real issue is the food poisoning. Yes, 3rd strike with food poisoning from this place & we are out - for good. First incident was my daughter, on September 23, 2022 - chalked it up to maybe a stomach bug. Next incident was me on November 1, 2022. I left a review after this awful experience & they apologized, refunded me (only for the item in question, not the whole ticket), & mailed me a $20 gift card to entice me back. I did try to use it on a pick up order, but that didn't work so had to use it to dine in. The final straw was dinner on September 24, 2023.

Before this awful experience, I had not vomited in 26 years. Yes, you read that correctly. Each of the above food poisoning incidents involved their most popular dish (& my former fave) - the Nacho Supremo. Buyer beware. Multiple weeks of having to recover from intense intestinal pain & extreme digestive upset. Like, food poisoning isn't just a couple hours - it can take weeks & months for a digestive system to fully settle and recover back to normal. Such was the case with my experience last September.

Sorry, Spiral. I gave you a ton of 2nd chances but this last incident did me in. Even an apology & gift card can't entice me back this round. BUT, for the love of god, please check your food handling processes for every Nacho Supremo ingredient, because something is going terribly wrong & causing customers to be poisoned... multiple times. PS, before the last 2 years, we successfully ate Nacho Supremo plates dozens if not 100 times. We aren't allergic to any of it. It's your food handling/storage practices. Guaranteed. While at it, check the ice machine & dishwashers, too. Please... don't poison your customers & get the Fort Worth location shut down, too. Thank you.

I'm truly sad. :( I do miss the Spiral Burger & the funky vibe. Miss 30 minute drives to Fort Worth for some vegan fun. It's lonely without them, but I just can't risk having my week & month ruined again by a spoiled Nacho Supremo plate (esp to the tune of $15.59 pre-tax).

Good luck, Spiral. Treat your employees and your customers right. It's...

I just had the worst experience I’ve had here which is such a shame because this was one of my favorite vegan spots as it’s close to home and usually delicious. However, I arrived at 12:27 today and was seated by 12:30. My order was taken by Mimi around 12:35 or so and it took over 30 to 40 minutes for my food to come out. I don’t mind waiting for good food so I just asked about how much longer it would be for them considering I had to go to work at 2 today and I didn’t get my food until 1:15 and only had 10 minutes to eat. I ordered the Elote nachos and they were the worst id ever had them. Every time I come they are always inconsistent and I order them every time. I usually don’t mind because they’re still good however these were drenched in “sour cream” and hot sauce and barely any corn at all. I only took a couple bites and flagged down our waitress and told her how I felt about my experience and she said I should’ve told her something sooner but I had only JUST gotten them and only had 10 minutes to eat. She said they wouldn’t be able to do anything much but give me 20% if I had eaten over half, I told her I only had a couple of the chips and my plate was CLEARLY more than half full and she immediately dismissed me, repeated herself and walked off QUICKLY. I then went to the register and tried to speak to a manager about what happened and she rudely cut off our conversation and slammed the ticket down infront of me and repeated herself again what she said to me at the table. I told the manager that this was such a shame and what she did was extremely rude and he agreed. Said if I wanted to talk to the owner I could but it may take awhile and I couldn’t because like I said, I needed to get to work. Mind you, I didn’t even take the food with me in a to go because it was THAT disgusting and disappointing. I am disgusted with the behavior I experienced today and how all of this was handled because I was too nervous to even speak up about it in the first place and my nightmare came to life. Mimi’s attitude towards me and my group was disgusting and it’s a shame because she usually always waits us and we have a good experience but it feels like since this time went wrong it was no longer sunshine and rainbows with her. It’s sad to say but I don’t think I will be returning and that...
