The family spent a day at the Fort Worth Zoo and all those adorable and majestic critters gave us a hankerin' for some of the more delicious variety of critter. However, while it was a mild and temperate day, all that walking definitely put us in the mood for something not-hot. What to do? Poké! After a bit of Googling, we found the (relatively) nearby Ohana, which looked like it might do the job. We were delighted to find our new favorite Poké spot in DFW! Let me sing its praises:
Price: beats the pants off anything else we've gotten. See the menu I attached -- two tiers, either 2 proteins or 3.
Price part 2: the only thing you pay for is protein. Unlimited selections of everything else, and there's a lot of everything else! I've seen places charge per topping, per sauce, per add-on, and it adds up really quickly. I'll note that there were one or two items that were a la carte, but generally the sky was the limit. Very generous portions!
Selection: tuna, salmon, spicy variations thereof, scallop, shrimp. The only nit I had to pick was that there were only two fish-- I love me some hamachi -- and no octopus. Very minor nit. Tons of toppings and sides, several good sauces. I only wish they had a good "spicy" option like gochujang or Sriracha or something homemade. Even so, the Wasabi mayo was great.
Fast and friendly service! No problems there.
Extensive menu -- not just Poké, though that was our mission. The website is currently offering free musubi (spam or katsu) with purchase over 25 bucks, so we went with the katsu musubi (I already make my own awesome spam musubi). If we hit the place up again I really wanna try the Hawaiian BBQ. Everything looked delicious.
We all left very happy. This place will likely become our usual stop...
Read moreI’ve only ever picked up door dash orders for delivery here and until today have always experienced friendly service (even during rushed times) and have been meaning to patronize the restaurant one day, as the orders I pick up always smell amazing and the menu and price point is appealing. Today’s interaction picking up an order might keep me from being a patron, and if the attitude was that bad from these two girls working, I can only imagine that might be why they’re having a hard time staffing up and staying staffed. One bad apple (or in this case two) can either spread the ugly or send the good ones running.
I understand that some delivery drivers can be hasty and rude, but to greet me coldly and shortly, have an attitude about me arriving early and being weird about giving me an estimated ready time (so the customer can be up to date on their order status) and to be dramatic and say “it’s gonna be a loooong time” as if to provoke a negative response form me was so unnecessary. I just hit em with a “cook ok” and had a seat. Then they proceeded to be peachy and kind to the customer who walked in after me. Their actions toward me were deliberately rude and unnecessary. I wished them a wonderful day and got out of their asap, their vibes were awful. Heads up ladies, dashers are customers too, and don’t be surprised when your bad attitude is greeted with bad attitude in return. I don’t care how previous dashers may have behaved, we were strangers and a baseline kindness is easy enough. Do better. Poor representation of...
Read moreWe have eaten here several times and have enjoyed it each time. This last visit we decided to order the family combo to share with some friends. We decided on Kahlua pork and two orders of short ribs. We were very satisfied with the servings of rice, Mac salad and khalua pork. However, the Short ribs left a lot to be desired and were not up to par for the price. There were two containers of ribs and one container had ribs with a good amount of meat on them and the second container, (the one pictured) contained only 2 quality ribs and the rest were very bad and had little to no actual meat on them.
They charge you extra for the short ribs and for them to supply ribs that looked like this AND have a up charge for them is very disappointing. Hopefully they don’t give these out every time and was just a fluke.

We ended up speaking with the manager who responded to our original review. She was very friendly and we were able to come to a consensus to correct the errors. When we arrived back at the store she took Full responsibility for the mess up and stated it would not happen again. The customer service was exceptional and we feel that Ohana went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied and would continue to be...
