We had an opportunity to bring in a couple of our younger players as well as one of my assistant coaches to visit Shiv and his amazing staff at their newly opened FW store. We got the complete tour from how they prepare everything fresh upon order, to the attention to detail when it comes to the cleanliness of their store & then of course the inspiration behind their entire menu along with the rotation of slider of the month, shake of the month & dipping sauce of the month! Main Course? We tried a little of everything & it was all great! The chicken tenders, both original and spicy, are an absolute must... but who goes to a slider place without getting sliders, right? Whether it was beef w/the "Rib-Eye Steakhouse, chicken w/the "Boomin' Chicken", fish w/their "English Cod" or a specialty item such as "The Hangover" w/bacon, egg and cheese on an all-beef slider. There was something for ALL tastes & they were ALL beyond amazing! Sides? Fries were so fresh and seasoned perfectly (House Blend & Cajun seasonings)! Cheese curds... well... who doesn't love fried cheese! Onion Rings at most places are usually very hit or miss... when they are done right, they are really, really good! If not, they are pretty average! Their onion rings were done RIGHT! Deserts? I'm not a huge desert guy, but oh my were the shakes good. Hand-spun custard shakes... We had Cookies & Cream, the "Shake of the Month" was a Smores shake & I personally had to try one of their most popular shakes, the Banana Pudding Shake and wow! Suggested Order? The #3 Slider + 2 Chicken Tenders... & then repeat until you have tried all of the sliders!! After one "in-house visit", We were so impressed, that we immediately knew that we wanted to partner with Shiv and his Savvy Sliders store to feed all of the teams at our annual Cowtown Tipoff, which "tips off" the start of every HS boys' basketball season by having all of the top programs in DFW under 1 roof! Thank you to Shiv and his amazing staff for their hospitality & the opportunity to sample all of their amazing menu items... As my assistant coach said after the first bite of one of his tenders... "Oh wow... if this Detroit chain catches on here, there are going to be a lot of places struggling to stay...
Read moreUrban vibe with friendly service. My strawberry custard shortcake shake was made beforehand. I enjoyed it while I waited 30 minutes for my food to be prepared. I noticed another customer was handed 3 shakes. Surely, the shakes were melting after 30 minutes, and he was ordering to-go for a group. If wait times are long, employees need to ask customers if they would like their shakes as they wait.
I ordered the 3 for $10. Upgraded to a combo and added a custard strawberry shortcake shake with whipped cream + cookie bites. The restaurant is worth at least two visits to try everything. The food and shakes are ok. I would pass on the boom sauce and go with the savvy sauce. The savvy sauce paired well with each sandwich and Cajun fries.
Nothing made a lasting impression to make it a new go-to spot. The bread is soft and didn’t fall apart. The cod surprised me. It was delicious, and so was the chicken sandwich. I would pass on the beef unless you get the big signature that includes two...
Read moreI've been waiting for this concept to open for quite a while. I had researched Savvy Sliders online and read up on them. I happen to be in the area yesterday when I noticed it had finally opened. So today I decided to drive up and try them out. I ordered the number 3 combo with two chicken strips and a choice of Savvy Slider. The meal came with an option of a soda or shake and fries. Personally I ordered the original Savvy Slider. I also added a strawberry shake to the order. The slider was okay a little bit different than sliders I've had in the past. The slider had a different flavor profile than what I'm used to. The chicken strips were great! Fresh and crispy. I decided to choose barbecue sauce for my dipping sauce for the chicken strips, and that too had a little bit different flavor profile, it was a little more vinegary than I'm used to. And for my drink, I decided to have the sweetened fresh brewed iced tea, which...
