This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I came 15 minutes after opening.

The staff was very nice and polite. The restaurant was clean and well put together.

The food was a disappointment. I ordered oxtails with extra gravy, rice/peas, cabbage, plantains. The order came out to $26.25. The price is overpriced in my opinion but about standard for most restaurants. But I don’t believe in paying quality prices for low quality food.

If the meal comes with three sides, I assume that the entrĆ©e would be of larger quantity than the three sides. Rice and peas filled up the majority of the large compartment in the plate. They had traditional oxtails, curry, oxtails, and jerk oxtails. I chose the traditional oxtails as my entrĆ©e. They were extremely greasy, boney, and fatty and the cabbage was greasy. There is no reason grease/oil should be all over the meat and the cabbage. The rice and peas were also sitting in greasy oil which made them very soggy and inedible. I don’t even know the true flavor of the food because everything was greasy but it give it a 2/10.

The only thing that tasted good was the plantains. The plantains were the best I’ve ever had! Perfect texture and taste. But I only got two and the small compartment of the plate was about half full with the two.

I would’ve asked for my money back if I lived close by. I should’ve dined in or tasted the food before I left the area but I won’t make the mistake again. I would be skeptical to try anything else so I most likely won’t be back.

I’m giving 2 stars for the good service, clean restaurant, and great plantains. I’m also giving 2 stars because the food was extremely greasy/oily and the entree to sides ratio/proportion isn’t...

Order was placed at 11:15am for 6 pick up plates. Order taker said it’ll be ready in 25mins. Arrived in 35 mins to be informed that there was no Jerk chicken it’ll be 10-15 min wait. Substitution was continually forced and return with distaste when it was turned down. 35 mins after the 10-15 min wait jerk chicken was torn in the now colder sides plate. Had this inconvenience been mentioned when placing the order the substitution would’ve made sense. If you as a server gives attitude due to their unpreparedness then attitude and disgust will be returned from me the customer. Order today 5/10/2024 order placed for 6 plates one suppose to be curry goat instead curry chicken was delivered contacted the establishment some rude guy told us to contact door dash behind Stephanie’s mistake ..it’s beginning to be a habit to charge for food and give what they want you to have …we will not be ordering 6 plates again for...

I love the local and the servers were nice but there are some things that this place needs to improve ASAP! I had the curry goat which cooked nicely but lacked any curry šŸ˜’, as side of cabbage which was sad and just boiled without seasoning, and plantains which were good. I had the curry goat entre with to beef patties and a cola and paid $28… that’s a lot more than I intended on paying for something I got to go. The worst part was I wasn’t given any type of a good portion, I was hungry 20 mins later(good thing I got those patties!). To me it seems like corners are being cut in quality for profit and that’s no bueno! If the menu says my entre is $16 it better be filling. I don’t imagine anyone being a regular to this place and that’s sad but you have to make people happy with your food for them to return. Cut prices or or...

I’ve been to this place 3 times and finally was able to order everything I wanted. I had the oxtails with rice, peas, and cabbage. I’ve never seen rice and peas this light before. The cabbage was hard. The oxtails and rice and peas tasted sweet. The mac&cheese is horrible. You don’t get much oxtail for over $20. She runs out of food so early. I’ve been there each time by 2pm, and she has been out of oxtails, curry chicken, and cabbage. The rice and peas has clumps in it and looks really soggy. I will not be eating here again.

My husband noticed the restaurant on the way home one day so we ordered lunch. I had the curried goat, callaloo, cornbread and plantain. First of all, you get a plate full of food for a great price and the food is delicious! The cornbread is soft and light like cake. I had not had callaloo, but I was feeling adventurous and it paid off. The goat was tender and juicy with the right amount of spice that played well with the sweetness from the plaintains. Definitely worth a visit for some great island food in Ft. Worth!
