Hot Wok — Restaurant in Fort Wright

I have eaten at this restaurant a few times before and it was OK. Your basic strip mall Chinese food. I'm not sure what changed but the food I got yesterday was inedible. First the sushi. I ordered Fire Crunchy Roll. I have ordered this in the past and liked it. This time it was awful. It was a bunch of crumbs with rice and seaweed wrapped around it. Dry and tasteless. Then I tried the sweet and sour chicken. The first thing that struck me was the thin watery sweet and sour sauce. No thickness to it. Then I noticed that the breading on the chicken was mushy and chewy like it had been microwaved. It's unfortunate that the breading was so bad because that's pretty much all the "chicken" pieces consisted of. It was breading with tiny dry chewy bits of chicken inside. The rice was a sticky gooey lump. Then I tried the Thai Basil Chicken. What was in the container didn't resemble any Thai Basil Chicken I have ever experienced. It was huge chunks of vegetables, four or five small pieces of chicken and an orange sauce. I couldn't find any basil in it. Every other Thai Basil Chicken I have ever had was finely chopped or ground chicken with LOTS of Thai Basil and a brown sauce. It tasted awful. The sauce was bitter. THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT, THEY WORK HARD TO CROSS THE CULTURE AND LANGUAGE BARRIER IN ORDER TO HELP YOU GET WHAT YOU WANT. WHEN YOU ORDER A LARGER THAN NORMAL ORDER THEY THROW IN FREE FOOD! "AWESOME!" YES THE FOOD ISN'T CONSISTENT, MEANING IT MIGHT HAVE A FEW MORE BEANS, OR SPROUTS, BUT IT IS GOOD, I AM VERY HAPPY TO COME AND GET MY ORIENTAL FOOD AT HOT WOK. GOD IS GOOD, AND THE FOOD IS GREAT TOO! I USED TO BUY MY ORIENTAL FOOD FROM A RESTURANT IN BOSTON WHERE I USED TO LIVE, THAT FOOD WAS GOOD, THIS IS KENTUCKY AND IN KENTUCKY THE ONLY THING THEY GET RIGHT IS AUTOMOTIVE RELATED, THIS FOOD IS REALLY GOOD, THEY MAKE IT GOOD ALL THE TIME, I AM HAPPY TO COME TO HOT WOK AND GET MY FOOD FROM THE MASTERS OF ORIENTAL FOOD. I absolutely love the food from this eatery. The happy family, the curry chicken, the egg drop soup and the egg rolls. The curious thing is there was not a single patron in this place on a lovely Friday night so it's tough to judge the atmosphere. However, this place is spotlessly clean and in very good shape. That only leaves the service and I found it to be lacking. Perhaps it was because I was the only man in there and the elderly lady felt uncomfortable. I found her to be suspicious and a little cold towards a paying customer. Once again, I personally love the food and will continue to eat here but a customer service improvement might be necessary to improve their lack of people that are willing to dine in. As...
