Quan Mii was recommended to me as the place for banh xeo. I finally stopped by to try the food here and was pleasantly pleased. * Special Banh Xeo with shrimp, pork, and squid 5/5 - They're known for their banh xeo and I can see why. The banh xeo was huge. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. There was also a charred flavor and texture that enhanced the taste. There was a good amount of toppings. The accompanying sauce was also very good. * Banh Beo Hue (Steamed Rice Flour Cakes with Shredded Shrimps) 3.5/5 - The rice flour cakes were quite plain and the sauce that came with it was a very mild sweet fish sauce. It didn't help the flavor. I ate these with the banh xeo fish sauce and it was much better. * Grilled Lemongrass Pork with Steamed Rice 4.5/5 - This was really good. The rice was slightly chewy, almost like sushi rice. There was a bite to it. The lemongrass beef was flavorful. The special sauce the dish came with was amazing. It was mildly salty, sweet, and tangy. Everything that dipped in it became twice as delicious. * Thai Tea 3.5/5 - Good drink, but contained too much ice (3/4 of the whole cup).

For two years we’ve been wanting to come here seeing all their Facebook photos of colorful authentic Vietnamese food. We excitedly arrived around 8pm on a Friday night to a full house. We were a little disappointed when we saw their menu as they didn't have as many unique dishes as we thought they might have, but that would be our fault for not looking at the menu before hand. We ordered the banh beo and banh xeo. The banh beo came out first and it was sadly on the bland side. The banh xeo came and was served generously with a nice heaping of lettuce, Vietnamese herbs and rice paper. Sadly, the rice paper tasted old and the banh xeo tasted like it was cooked in really really old oil. After our meal we head to the front checkout to pay and noticed one of the waitresses brought over the used rice paper and container from another table that had left to the cashier and after whispering quietly to the cashier who then nodded, she continued to clear the table while gently handling the rice paper and container with care….

This place is shockingly dishonest with questionable prices. We ordered two Banh Xeo, and what arrived was an insult to the dish as someone who knows what to expect. Microscopic bits of seafood, probably a reflection of the staff, barely any meat, and a passion fruit drink that was more ice than anything else. We counted 4-5 pieces of shrimp in ours. I had two pieces of pork in mine and it was full of bean sprouts. Meanwhile, the staff feasted on their own huge generously stuffed meals, seemingly amused by our dissatisfaction. When we confronted them, they blamed us for not speaking up earlier – even though they never once checked on us. No water refills a single time. Avoid this establishment. They clearly find it amusing to swindle customers, as evidenced by other negative reviews sharing similar experiences. We asked gently for them to fix the problem but they decided it was necessary to blame us and claim that we were lying since we had already eaten some of the Banh Xeo.

We were craving bánh bèo! When we crave bánh bèo and have to go out to eat them, that means we're lazy! It doesn't mean we can do a better job than the store we're going to.

Ordered 3 different kinds (from different regions: N, C, & S VN) to share, but they lacked flavor, and the topping (nhân) was extremely skimpy.

Died shrimp was used instead of the fresh one, 2 out of the 3 didn't have mung beans. There were more fried/dried/sautéed onions than shrimp, and they didn't even have pork rinds or fat (tóp mỡ).

We suppose different regions called for different ingredients, which is okay as long as the 1 main ingredient: shrimps are prepared in an excellent way to satisfy your craving. Sadly, in this case, zero flavors were found. The fish sauce was so watered down that a bit of chili pepper was all that you can taste. Anyone who doesn't make good bánh bèo knows the dipping (fish) sauce would save you. Again, it wasn't the case!

Other restaurants charge 1/3 less than this place, we don't mind paying the higher price for good bánh bèo, but we were disappointed, they weren't good at all.

We hope the comment about "drinks" below would humor you. For 1 slice of lemon in a cup of water entitled this store charges you $1.95 and calling it "a drink" is a bit odd to us. Since we were charged for water and a slice of lemon, we asked for a "refill" just to see how would they handle it. As expected, more water was poured into the same cup without an additional slice of lemon. The $2.95 Coke "drink" was served with a 12oz Coke can and a disposable cup of ice, which means "no refill". We got the message loud and clear! Lol.

Good old traditional Vietnamese food made bad just spoiled our day,...

Disappointing Experience at Quan Mii Due to Inconsistent Closing Practices

My wife and I have been regular patrons of Quan Mii, consistently enjoying the food. However, our visit on 10/09/2025 left us deeply disappointed and frustrated. We arrived at 7:55 PM, expecting a pleasant dining experience, as the restaurant’s posted hours clearly state they are open from 11 AM to 9 PM. The “Open” sign was still illuminated, reinforcing our expectation that we could be seated.

To our surprise, the servers informed us that the kitchen was “closing early” and refused to seat us. This was particularly confusing given that the posted operating hours indicated the restaurant was open for another hour. If the management has decided to close the kitchen earlier than the advertised 9 PM, I strongly recommend updating the posted hours to reflect this policy or clearly displaying a sign indicating the last seating time. Transparency in operating hours is essential to avoid misleading customers and causing inconvenience.

If this decision was made independently by the staff, I urge the owner to investigate this matter, as it reflects poorly on the restaurant’s commitment to customer. I hope Quan Mii takes this feedback seriously and implements clearer communication regarding their operating hours to prevent future...

7/28/2021 Came here on the last day of our Cali trip. We’ve been here the year before with family recommendations and daddy loves this place. I kinda forgot about this place because Cali has so many restaurants. I come across this restaurant again bc I was craving bánh xèo which is Vietnamese crepes and this restaurant looks amazing and the decor brings some memories back therefore we gave this place a try. Can I just say this was one of the very few choices that I’ve made right in my life. The food was amazing!! Service was impeccable and the interior was clean and minimal. I do enjoy an easy looking not to crowded with extraordinary stuff when it comes to restaurant. Daddy got Vietnamese coffee that has so so much flavor; I personally don’t like coffee and this was strong 😞, sis got Thai tea and it was really good.. not too sweet and I got a fresh coconut which was delicious… my only complaint was the coconut was an aged one that’s why the pulp was hard. For starter we got bánh bèo chén Hue style and it was good and for our dinner we got 2 crepes. If you question why 2 crepes with 3 people? Trust me!!! Their crepes are huge… do come with an empty stomach bc they do give a lot and their food are so so good. Until next...
