Had this TRH location rated 5 stars when first reviewed2 years ago. The service and to a lesser extent the food, as served, has gone down in quality since that time.
I like TRH. For ref, I’ve eaten at about a dozen TRH locations in 6 states and the Middle East, for a dozens of visits over that last 10+ years - includes at least 8 to this TRH location in the last 24 mo. Visits have been with just me (solo), w/ parties, in bar and in restaurant areas, some weekend/weekday visits.
From 2022 to 2024 the food value (a combo of what you get for how much) and especially the service has gone down overall and less consistent – it’s a trend of a downward slope.
Yesterday I had a visit that caused both my guests state to me: ”do not ever suggest we go here again, because I will refuse”. Let me recount what happened, in the form of a play:
ACT 1 – Sitting Down: About 7:30pm, no line so asked by front desk to stand by to wait for a greeter to seat us. We have several workers pass us by while we wait, partially blocking the path for diners leaving the restaurant, 5 minutes go by and then we are seated at a 4-person booth right next to a booth joined to two tables (at least 8 people, having a loud fun time). I ask the greeter to move one 4-person booth over (to a clean open booth), and am told that the one we have is only one “open”. 3 minutes later another party is sat at the booth we asked to sit at - I ask the newly seated guests ‘did you have this table reserved?’…”no…we just walked right in!”.
ACT 2 – The Order: Table right next to us, w/ different waitress, gets bread plates brought out, and drink order taken, right after they sit. Later we get bread (I guess they were out when we first sat?) & drink order taken. Small plates are brought later, and we ask for peanuts. During this time the larger group next to us leaves, tables cleaned off and moved, 2 smaller groups seated, bread brought, drinks ordered & brought, appetizers/salads/soups brought out. We get our drinks (nothing alcoholic) then brought. We look closely at one drink and see a small fly inside an ice cube.
ACT 3 – Food to Table: 2 minutes later one entrée brought. Then one bag of peanuts – to share for the three adults(?). Then other surrounding tables have their entrees. Then we get our other 2 entrees – so a total of 3x steaks. One steak ordered “medium rare” is very rare, all sides are good. Waitress finally comes by to ask how things look after half the food is eaten, we relay one steak is very undercooked and a missing salad, which we ask to replace with a soup. Steak is taken away to recook, and a soup is brought. Steak is returned recooked to a bit past medium-well. No one, not at the original drops or when the recooked steak is brought out asks us to cut into and see if done correctly. When food entrees are done, we are waiting for bill…someone then drops a salad to the table and says “sorry your food got to you before your salad”.
ACT 4 – The Bill: A couple irregularities on bill – charged for a soup and the steak+shrimp meal is broken out so shrimp are added. 15 minutes for waitress to come back, then we stop a passing waiter asking to have the manager come by. I explain the billing errors – she states that they charge the shrimp as adders to save cost. We go through the pricing and it’s about a dollar more the way the waitress broke it out. Manager removes about $5 in price from a $96 bill. No apology and no other consideration.
I get it – essentially first world problems. But, I am not willing to give a restaurant +$90 for this type of (lack of, and spotty) service. There are alternatives…and now I will be using them.

Read moreI deleted my old review to post this new one. Last review was a while ago and 4/5. Realistically it should have changed over time to at most a 3/5. Today's service means we will no longer be going there.
This place is ALWAYS hit or miss. Sometimes they forget an item, sometimes they overcook the steak, sometimes undercook, sometimes we get bad rolls, sometimes the service is just lacking.
Today we arrived to receive a table and basket of rolls. I asked for another one before we even got our drinks knowing that the four of us would want more. One of the rolls we found was flat like a pancake and tasted gritty. Definitely missing an ingredient. When she returned with the drinks, we showed her the roll and asked for replacements. She said she would be right back. She later returned and took our plates. So we never received four good rolls, let alone extra.
Ok. We also placed a to go order for our sick kid who couldn't come. This will come into play later.
Food arrived and seemed decent enough. Steak was probably the best cook we've had ever and we've been here like 50 times. However, rolls still never came so when the manager stopped by I explained the situation. He stared at me dumbfounded like, "So what?". He then asks if we wanted more rolls. No buddy, I just wanted to tell you this story for my health. Yes, of course.
Fast forward to the meal being just about done and rolls arrived. Seemed like a good set, great. Server comes over and says, "Sorry about the rolls, you should have reminded me". Sorry, but I don't go to a restaurant to tell people how to do their jobs just as I don't want them coming to mine to tell me. I don't need to be reminded and if I do, I'll make a note and ensure it's taken care of.
Fast forward and I look at the receipt on the device and the to go order isn't on there. She comes by and we ask about it and she forgot. So she puts the order in.
By this point I couldn't leave fast enough. I was so disappointed with the meal and service. We can go anywhere for a steak. There's literally a place two minutes from our house that makes solid steaks. A little travel and we can go to Steakhouse 10, pay a premium price, but get the best steaks in Colorado.
I hated to leave a crappy tip for the server, but I'm not going to reward poor service. I hate leaving a bad review for a chain we actually enjoy. But again, I'm not going to reward this service. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. There are a lot of jobs I won't do because I'll suck at them. This might be one of those jobs this server should maybe not do. That's just blatant honest truth. The manager was not much better. I felt like he couldn't give a crap about the service and issues we had. So next time we'll...
Read moreDO NOT BUY A GIFT CARD (it’s like $, CC) for veterans military, senior anyone with a discount of 10% whether it be a card that says 10% off or a person… again, do not give a gift card to someone, Especially if they use any of there discounts…. YOU are not Buying a meal, your buying a hassle…
OH, beware my physical check was $131 and some change… Compared to The one on the table where you pay the automation was $134 and some change… completely different
What comes down to it, is that your Gift card someone paid cash for so you can use there, like a CC… won’t work… So if you have a 10% discount with military AARP, AAA or a card that you got for 10% discount it does not work with your Gift card which is basically cash. Someone is paying for your dinner. Which is completely bullshit you should be able to use your discount for your meal and pay any way you want whether it be credit card, cash or someone else giving you a gift card… Plus, you can’t separate your check, so if there’s three of you and you want your meal, your dessert your drinks separate from other two persons bill. ‘YOU CAN NOT DO THAT’ they would not let me take my stuff off my dad‘s and my son‘s bill so I can use the gift card for my Mother’s Day.
I would put one star, but my dad and my son like their food. Unfortunately, my son is paying now because he has diarrhea so there was something in that food that made him go twice already within a half hour once before we left the restaurant and immediately when we got home
We ordered the combo appetizer, the pickles were not flavorful or crispy. I ordered the fried sirloin steak with white gravy, mashed potatoes and season veggies, the broccoli and carrots were not season or buttered properly…. My fried sirloin steak was not seasoned. It had no flavor until you put salt and pepper on it. My son‘s bone in ribeye $33.99 was not medium. It was medium rare, which is no biggie… if you don’t mind med rare… Even The table behind us had to have their order re-cooked. I personally will not be back to this Texas roadhouse and if they’re all like that, I won’t be back again. They need to re-think their policy on gift cards… A gift card has nothing to do with an individual having a 10% discount and not being able to use a gift from a family a friend a loved one because you got your 10% discount ....
