We went to throw axes and have lunch with 4 kids ages 10-14. While being seated someone came over right away to show us how to throw the axes and provide safety instructions.... no problem.... once he finished instructions we wanted to look at the menu with the kids and decide what everyone would eat and drink, but they started our 30 minute timer immediately which created some chaos and rushing to start playing while also trying to place an order for food and drinks. We understand time constraints in a place with "lane rentals" but having the ability to begin the game once you are actually ready would definitely allow the guests to enjoy their full 30 minutes (or however long they booked) if it was a busy night, I get it.... but it was a Sunday afternoon and there was only one other small party there.
The food was subpar... burnt pizza and the tenders were burnt on the outside but slightly undercooked inside, and they only had pepsi and iced tea to offer for beverages(out of the remaining drink items on the menu) the curly fries had a nice kick to them and the mozzarella sticks were decent, but the sauce was served ice cold.
The staff was all very nice and doing their jobs so we would never fault them, but there is definitely some overall room for improvement here with the process in which they get you set up if you're eating and throwing axes. (Which is what was...
Read moreWe went as a party of six...three couples. The axe throwing was reasonably fun for the guys, but the girls really struggled to make the axes stick...they ultimately would give up their turns if it didn't stick after five tries. If you have someone in your group who has zero athletic ability, might want to do something else.
The food here is horrendous...I actully thought I'd have dinner here...what a mistake! The menu was thin to begin with, but the night I went, half of the menu items were crossed off the menu in sloppy marker. I settled for chicken wings, and they were so overcooked...burnt with no moisture at all left in the meat, ugh.
This place is also wildly expensive. We reserved the booth for 75 minutes (the first 15 minutes of which were taken up with our server showing us how the game works and waiting for each of us six to successfully get an axe stuck in the board). The bill for the 60 minutes of actual game time was $210. Top Golf is much less than that, and way more fun. Bowling is about a quarter of the price. The terrible food and overpriced drinks brought our bill up to $500. This is way too much for crummy food, crummy atmosphere, and a game that was very frustrating for half of our party. ...
Read moreMy first time Axe throwing was splendid I must say. I originally booked a 75 minute session however due to unforeseen circumstances I needed a 30 minute session instead, I am super grateful for the seamless and prompt accommodation. Thank you guys!
Gabby was my instructor. Before my throwing session began Gabby grabbed my axes and placed them carefully in the lane where I would be throwing. I typically need a very detailed lesson when I am learning something new and Gabby spared no details. She made sure to demonstrate everything so I could see how it all worked and she made sure to observe me in order to let me know if I was doing everything correctly or if I needed to make any changes. My practice throws were pretty good, once my time started, my throws were not so good, I missed the target many times. Gabby saw what I was doing incorrectly and she gave me exact pointers on how to correct my stance and my hand placement and from there I did a much better job! Gabby is very attentive and super personable, I am so happy she was my instructor.
Also thank you to Jay the general manager for checking in with me as well. This is a great place for a pair or group to come and have some good fun on the weekend....
