Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Franconia

My original review below from seven years ago couldn't be the same as this time, could it?

It was close. Not as bad as why we haven't been back since, but close.

The venue was far from full, and there was enough staff to keep from being swamped, and while our server was quick with our drinks and taking our order, the problems soon followed. Fifteen minutes later half of our order arrived; a soup and a salad. The dressing on the salad smelled and tasted rancid while the soup had the consistency and flavor of a thin water and flour mixture.

After another fifteen minutes we decided since the rest of our order wasn't coming out, it was time to leave. Half of the food was inedible and the other half never made it to the table after thirty minutes. We approached the host to offer to pay for the food that was brought out and the drinks. The manager came out quickly to see what the issue was, and after explaining what went on, he stepped up and took our bill instead of letting us pay for what we did receive. Before we left one of the employees informed us the same thing happened the last time they ate there.

Not sure if we'll return or when, but the overall experience has not improved between visits. What food did make it to the table was rather poor quality. And according to someone that works there, it's not an uncommon situation.

Is this place on the verge of shutting down? Because that's the vibe I picked up on when I ate here recently. The staff were there physically, but all seemed as if they had already clocked out, and it was several hours before closing. There was plenty of staff on hand with less than a third of the tables filled, but service was sadly lacking. Ten minutes after being seated one of the many servers that repeatedly walked past the table asked if I had been served, then tried to find out which server covered my table. Five minutes later she took it over and dropped off the menu. Fifteen minutes after that she returned for the drink order. Plenty of time to decide my full order. The drinks were brought right out and in another ten minutes the appetizer with the entree almost fifteen minutes later. Almost an hour from seating to receiving the meal. In that time there were no more customers than when I arrived, rather there were fewer.

The food, when it did arrive was surprisingly well made, presentable and delicious. While eating I had to serve myself for anything else, napkins, sauces, etc, because again the staff avoided any attempts to get their attention. The first semi self-serve Chili's.

Will I eat here again? Tough call, where the food is some of the better quality I've had at a Chili's, the service was abysmal. I might as well have walked directly to the kitchen...

We loves Chili's , but this location is one of the worst we've ever been to . My husband and I sat down at 12:51 (he had asked me for the time, so that's how I remembered). Our waiter came to get our drink order and apps . We didn't get our water until 1:15 . Come 1:20 & my husband still hasn't gotten his other beverage , nor have we gotten our nachos or my soup . The only tables the waiter had was ours and another table of 10 cute elderly ladies who also were waiting on their checks to leave . The waiter finally gets them their checks and even they were getting impatient . Impatient that they walked their checks to him themselves (smh). It was 1:37 , another worker brought out my soup along with our app and I asked where our waiter was because it shouldn't of taken this along. Mind you , it was just our table left . The kind worker told us he'd get the manager. The manager comes over with our meals to apologize shortly after. Now we have our app , my soup and our meals all at once . The manager asked if anything was missing and we told him that my husband was still waiting for his beverage. After finally getting everything, we saw that our waiter did not want to come by our table. He never came to check up on us ONCE . No one actually did after we got our food. Our drinks were empty and still , no waiter. Our food wasn't the warmest, because I'm sure it was sitting out for a little. I wanted to pack my food to go but our waiter and or no other workers were around, so my husband just paid the bill on the kiosk machine and we left. We will not be going back , because now that I think about it ... I don't think the manager really cared either , because as we were walking out our waiter was behind the counter laughing with another coworker and the manager was...

I’d like to officially lodge a complain about racial discrimination, Food poisoning & extremely rude service from the server to the front receptionist. Mind you, it’s beyond poor, it’s ignorant service.

This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant - we went & there were plenty of tables open and we were told “we’d have to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated” - when we pointed the host if we could sit at a close by table she said “go ahead” - a. Didn’t walk u but just pointed to the table s. B. The table was dirty and we had to wait 5 minutes for someone to clean the table.

Then, a server came in asked for the drinks order(which was old merlot) and told us another guy was will be taking our order. The guy(our server) goes to every other table except for ours and then shows up after 10 minutes & asked if we were ready or not - mind you we were not given a menu. When I said we’d been waiting for almost 10 minutes - he goes “what do you want to eat man?” Doesn’t even ask how I’d like my burger cooked ends up bringing me a “brick patty” Busboys bring out the food - server doesn’t show up once although his tray table is linked to our table. And it goes on..

I get food poisoning right after eating so does my GF from Merlot(it was too heavy and merlot are usually thin)

Out of a horrible experience and knowing management wouldn’t do anything - we ask for a box and leave asap. Our Date is ruined.

Mind you, this is my second visit at the location - and poor service took place on the first visit & we avoided any conflicts.

Is this what you mean by your neighborhood grill & restaurant?!?
