Social 45 Craft Kitchen & Bar by: Jimmy O's — Restaurant in Frankfort

This was my first time here. The hubby and I decided to go after seeing the latest Captain America movie at the Emagine movie theater nearby.

When we arrived, we were so surprised there was so many people. It had a bar and party atmosphere. Well on our way to the seats, we overheard one of staff tell some guests next to our table apologizing for the wait, but they are understaffed today.

This was on Thursday, February 13th, and I believe a lot of people were out celebrating Valentine's Day early, like we were. Anywhoo, there was a large gathering at the back of the restaurant, so I told my husband if we have to keep waiting, we may have to go to another restaurant.

After 10 minutes we finally got water, but it wasn't until another 30 minutes we were asked for our order. Literally as my husband was about to call North and Maple to see what was the wait time at their restaurant, a waitress came and took our order.

We ended up ordering:

Fried Chicken Bites w/garlic parmesan and ranch sauces West Coast Smash Burger included avocado and bacon Grilled Rib Eye Steak sandwich - on a garlic roll with a side of grilled onions and mushrooms Truffle Fries

Our food came at a decent time. We really enjoyed the fried chicken bites, the sandwiches were a different story. Both the hubby and I felt the sandwiches were bland. He said if it wasn't for the bacon, he wouldn't have finished it. I only ate half of my sandwich. We both liked the truffle fries that came with our sandwiches.

I asked the waitress for a side of the garlic parmesan sauce to take home with the 1/2 of rib eye sandwich that I didn't finish. That was an extra $0.50 charge, but that's okay. When I ate the other 1/2 of sandwich the next day, it tasted glorious with that sauce. I was like why aren't they including this sauce on the sandwich! It's a missed...

Ok so we made a reservation and we understand it was mother's day but it wasn't THAT busy. A woman told my friend that because she made the reservation 30 min earlier we would have to wait because others had reserved days in advance so they had to be seated first. No problem. But the woman ( whom I guess was running the place) came back and got confrontational with another friend of mine who is elderly. The woman got to close to my friend and started pointing her finger at her telling her how this was going to go down. My friend told her to back up out of her face. My friend walked away calling the woman ignorant. The final straw was when the woman came back and told us that we couldn't order from the menu and that we had to order the brunch at 35.00 dollars a person. There are 10 of us. I have never been to a restaurant with this kind of service and there was no sign stating that we had no choice but to order the brunch. Mind you this was my first time there. We decided to leave due to this woman's rudeness and lack of choice. We went to Jamesons pub which was excellent!!!! Me and my friends will never be back to this place again!!!! Oh yeah.....WE WERE THE ONLY BLACK CUSTOMERS THERE!!!!! I wonder if they told the other patrons the same thing regarding brunch only. I hate to use the race card in this post. I recently just ordered a chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Also, with a side of grilled chicken. This was a order pickup mind you because I work as a delivery driver. So in such fashion I don't order out except for Sundays mostly. Nevertheless, as my one order for the week this was one of the worst first impressions I've experienced. When I arrived, I had to sign for food that was already ordered. But, police regulations I'm sure. I left without checking everything which was my first mistake. The way the food is bagged is cheap compared to other restaurants in the area. I opened my food and to my surprise, most of the ingredients that are advertised on the sandwich wasn't there. The chicken sandwich i ordered came with 6 to 8 ingredients besides the chicken. I cancel 2 of them and only received 2 other ingredients! Then the fries were not throughly cooked. The grilled chicken was the only salvageable meal. With me on the time slot I couldn't go back and get them to fix the meal or repay me. However, when it comes to food my first impression means so much to me. So, this restaurant won't be receiving my service again.
