Pomodoro — Restaurant in Franklin Park

Walked in hungry and quickly spiraled to hangry. Sat at the bar, brunette server with pony tail wasn’t welcoming in the least. Asked for a sprite and a menu, got both fairly quickly but waited ~15 minutes as the aforementioned server was loudly yapping on at the other end of the bar. I nearly walked out but it was getting too late to be looking for a decent place to eat, I was hungry, and I didn’t know how much $ to leave on the bar for my drink. To order food I had to snag the blonde waitress that was running her butt off actually doing her job while the brunette flitted about socializing, doing anything except serving, even after being asked to help. I wasn’t the only one and could see the discontent on other patrons around me. Food wasn’t good, to call it mediocre would be too generous, but it could have been partially excusable if it weren’t for the absolute trash service. Due to the amount I travel for work, I eat 200+ dinners in restaurants every year and without exaggeration this is by far the worst service I can remember. This is the second time I’ve eaten here and I got the same vibe from this server the first time I was there about 6 weeks ago; I can only assume that there’s nepotism or something to blame for her continued employment. I always tip well, a minimum of 30%, often 50%, sometimes 100%, but I couldn’t bring myself to leave anything more than the coins after paying cash. I wouldn’t have even left that but I didn’t want to spend another minute there. Blonde girl- thank you for being courteous and professional and attempting to be accommodating. This evening I dined at Pomodoros, a charming little eatery known for its welcoming atmosphere and they had a wonderful gentleman playing music. We have visited a couple other times mostly for the welcoming atmosphere and the sweetheart server Gina! We loved seeing Gina again tonight however her coworker Bailey was another story. Bailey was very unwelcoming from the moment we walked in the door.

My brother, who has visited Pomodoros a few times as well was already there with his family. Wife and four kids 9 and under. Bailey on numerous occasions rolled her eyes at the kids and had a huge problem with the kids not being able to sit still. Bailey presented a very irritating demeanor to my brother and his family all night.

My family and I now walk in and the booth that just had customers leave, was open but still needed cleaned off. Bailey came and removed plates and as we waited for her to wipe down the table, she insisted us to sit down even though she never wiped the table down from the previous customers.

Thankful again for Gina tonight because Bailey continues to be abrasive. We were highly enjoying the gentleman that was playing music until Bailey came by and elbowed me in the back to get me out of her way. As I said, “Oh I’m Sorry” Bailey replied with , “Oh We can play this game all night and we will see who wins.”We wanted to continue to enjoy the nights music and atmosphere with family but Bailey made it very unwelcoming.

Ordered chicken Parmesan for my niece’s baptism. Called and got a quote of 180 dollars for 30 pieces. I called a few days later to inquire about adding an additional 5 pieces. Not concerned with the price of adding 5 more pieces since the initial quote I received was for 180 dollars for 30 pieces. I assumed the price per chicken cutlet was around 6 dollars per piece. Upon arrival to pick up the chicken I was charged 372 dollars for 35 pieces of chicken parm. This adds up to be 10 plus dollars a piece and not the original 6 plus dollars I was quoted when I called. Now mind you I had to call a few times to confirm because they had the date wrong for pick up. When I asked to speak with a manager I was told she is away in Vegas for a funeral and there was nothing they could do for me. This isn’t good business practice. I should have been quoted the correct price from the beginning. That’s a huge price difference. We order Catering for many events from here as well as frequent the restaurant to dine there.
