To my disappointment this place did not live up to the reviews that were posted. (Are they done by family members?) The deli part of this place has always been good so I was not thinking that the restaurant would be any different but it was. First we had to wait for a menu and a waiter and a good 15 to 20 minutes for someone to actually ask us if we wanted dinner or a drink. After ordering we had to wait a very long time for what they called appetizers. In that time I observed that the extra Personnel would scan over the restaurant patrons/tables but never approach the diners to ask if they needed anything. My dinner took 90 minutes to get and they then shoved a salad in front of me as the entre was being placed on the table. The food: disappointing. The calamari was salty and tough like it came out of a freezer bag and dropped into the frier. Shrimp scampi must have had half a bottle of lemon juice poured over it. The only good thing was the bread. THIS ONE IS A "ONE AND DONE" We arrived at 7 and left at 9 .... Couldn't get out of there fast enough I've waited so long to go to JOE'S since they're never open when I'm not working....unfortunately this was a disappointment. OH...TWO STARS ARE FOR THE DELI. BTW. 4% surcharge for using...
Read moreI went to joe’s precovid (2018) but had this review written and wanted to share it: I really wish that google world start using half stars. With that said, I would easily give Joe’s 3.5 stars. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the nights special: angle hair in red sauce (noticed I did not use gravy as the sauce was not thick) with clams, shrimp and a nicely seasoned piece of salmon. All the fish was cooked well and the angle hair was how I liked it which is a little over al dente. My wife ordered fettuccine alfredo with chicken and my daughter ordered the Giovani carbonara. They both enjoyed the good sized portions. The gravy base is normally the same with both of their dishes but the carbonara was more buttery but still it was tasty. So we really enjoyed the food.
The environment: in this part of Jersey it is common place to have multiple restaurants in what reminds me of a small strip mall with only 5 to 6 stores. So people not from this area need not worry. When you walk into Joe’s you will walk past the deli and into restaurant. The room itself is quaint and very small. It reminded me of being at an (Itilian) party as everyone seemed to know each other. Had a great time and the food was very...
Read moreIt is rare when I give a restaurant a 5 star rating, and when I do is because the restaurant, service, and food was fantastic all around. And I have to say that this restaurant deserves a 5 star rating not just from me, but from everyone. There really isn't much to say about this place other than the fact that it is amazing and I simply love it. I have been here multiple times now because of how great the food is, and I'm most likely will become a regular. The penne with vodka sauce and grill chicken is my go to every time I come and the desert is definitely a hard decision because every pastry is amazing. The service is without a doubt amazing. From the servers to the owner they make you feel comfortable and welcome. Everyone here is very attentive. If you want amazing genuine Italian food for a very comfortable pricing, Joe's deli is your...
