What a happy circumstance that we decided to check out the latest iteration of Luigi's Restaurant and Pizza. Admittedly, Luigi's is not in a heavily trafficked area, it is, nonetheless, really worth seeking out. The property has been home to a number of owners, and the present owner is doing everything it takes to be successful. We hope the new management will succeed.
Our visit was entirely on a whim: we'd spent the late afternoon in Halloween festivities with our grandkids. Our attitude, “What the heck, Let's try it” soon turned to “Wow, this is great!”. The dining area is clean and cozy, our waitress very accommodating. When I saw BYOB on the face of the menu I asked if I could run to the local package store to get a bottle of wine. Sure, that was no problem. When I arrived back several minutes later, I was greeted with a hot roll fresh out of the oven (and which our waitress told us she had a hand in preparing), which was totally delicious. We could feast on the rolls alone.
We next got a salad, with an excellent balsamic dressing, quite fresh and satisfying. My wife ordered Lobster Ravioli, which was very tasty, delicately spiced and satisfying. I had the Eggplant Rolatini, which was superb. The rollatini were perfectly formed, with just the proper balance of cheese and sauce, accompanied by tagliatelle, which was perfectly al dente.
Luigi's is a small establishment, with a takeout counter in the front. Don't be deceived: the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the service are first class. Our waitress was most pleasant and accommodating. Luigi's dining room is clean and pleasant. During our visit there was a pleasant soundtrack of Italian music, but not intrusive. Conversation was easy. There is adequate parking. A real plus is their BYOB policy. Prices are very fair, and, coupled with BYOB makes for a very affordable, excellent dining experience.
Try the new Luigi's: we're sure you will agree with us that this is a most welcome addition to the area's dining scene. For our part, my wife and I agree that we plan many more...
Read moreI am absolutely appalled by this business. Most importantly the business owner Luigi. About a month ago I booked a party for late May for my daughter's communion. I sat down with the son and gave all details. He provided me with the cost and told me his requirements and rules. A few days ago, I get a call from Luigi asking for all the food choices so that he could prepare. I called him today with the choices and he ranted how the price per person needs to change and he has to charge me an extra $3/person. It doesn't sound like a lot but when you have a party, it adds up. I asked him how can he not honor the price he originally gave me and he told me its because he can't find the food anymore. Not sure how raising my price will help him find what he needs, but he told me he could do what he wants and could change the price if he wants up to the date of the party and that he's been in business for 40 years and if he doesn't raise my prices, he will lose his business. Now I'm stuck with no venue and a bunch of family coming. Not the best customer service at all. I tried to do some good to our community by staying local and supporting small businesses, but when customers are treated this way, those businesses deserve what they...
Read moreMy experience at Bella Pizza this morning was absolutely terrible. I ordered a Chef Salad and a vitamin water drink, but what should have been a routine transaction turned into a nightmare due to the cashier's appalling behavior. The man in front, with glasses and greyish hair, was extremely rude from the start. When I politely asked for a receipt, he became confrontational, questioning why I needed one for a $15 purchase. Despite my explanation, he continued to argue, making me feel unwelcome and embarrassed. It was evident he was trying to provoke a reaction. Finally, he reluctantly printed the receipt and tossed it onto the counter, displaying a complete lack of professionalism.
To add insult to injury, I later discovered that I was overcharged and received incorrect change. I was charged $15.75 and I gave $16, the printed receipt reads $15.19. I'm assuming it was more convenient to give back a quarter instead of the correct change amount of 81 cents.
This entire encounter was completely uncalled for and left me feeling disrespected as a paying customer. Considering the poor service and mistreatment, I will be taking my business elsewhere...
