Parking: The cafe has free parking and easily accommodated the lunch time crowd with spaces in the front (including handicap) as well on the side in a lot, and in the back as well.
828 Cafe's appearance from the street is striking!!! It features a mural of a black Bears face with the mountains in the background. It was done (according to website) by an artist friend named Marina who is amazing! Take time to walk around the outside and see all the different scenes she did.
Inside: 828 is order-@-the counter and take a seat and in a short bit your food is delivered. Many folks were ordering take-out or picking up orders already called in. If you're into Kombucha they have that too!
Food: The Chorizo Bowl was well composed, tasty, healthy, and filling. I would order again unless I decided to go for the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich instead, Lol. My wife really liked the Chicken BLT Wrap. It was plenty of food but light and healthy for lunch. The price point for lunch was good for us. The breakfast menu is worth it if you are there at that time of day. They have great choices of omelettes, french toast, waffles and breakfast bowls with some creative touches and often a Latin twist.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is good but not the best. As others mention there is a lack of flavor in some dishes but the chicken wrap is particularly good. I try to order for pickup at lunchtime because I work for a living and have a short lunch break but I will no longer bother going here for lunch again. I showed up with order waiting on counter but rather than getting to pay as the next person or so in the line I was told to get to the back of a 10 person line going outside waiting to order their lunch. Fifteen minutes later when I paid for the food in about a minute, the food was room temperature by then. Fries are not good cold! If you can't come up with a better solution don't offer this option. Maybe allowing to pay via CC on the phone would fix this. But besides cold food, after mentioning that the wait for a pickup wasn't good customer service I was told do I want my food or not. I guess this is the kind of attitude you take when you really don't care about your customers since the lunch busines is good. A dining establishment should never accept cold food as a good solution. Granted it is pickup so I don't expect hot but room temperature fries and meal, not 5 star worthy. If I want another chicken sandwich Chic-fil-la will be my go to as it is very close to the same quality for less money and I've never had cold food or poor customer service there.
Update. There was no disrespect except by staff. When I asked them if this long wait was acceptable practice for carry out. You then where the rude one. Thie private response only further conveys your contempt for your customers and no concern for providing them good dining experience. Changed from 3 stars to 1 for not owning anything in owners private response. I wasn't late, less than 10 minute drive from home so thats not why the food was cold. Rude, I mentioned I had called in an order...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had the unfortunate experience of walking in last in our group of 7. We have a toddler under two and it took us an extra 30 seconds to get in the door....
While standing in line to order breakfast, the clock ticked over from 10:29 to 10:30; being the last of our group to order we waited for a hostess to return to the counter from the back, in the meantime we decided on what we would have, knowing the time constraints.
The hostess returned, closed the breakfast register, and then told us that they would no longer be serving breakfast, and that we would have to order lunch instead, pushing us to stand there to look at an entirely different menu. All the while, 3 separate groups of patrons walked in the door, forcing us to have a seat with our group to decide what to do.
As our group received their breakfast meals, we opted to pack it all back up and head over to Gracious plates on main where brunch cuts off at a relatively normal time.
I consider myself a reasonable individual, and an understanding person, but as someone that has worked in food service, and as a business owner myself, I have always honored people in the door, never changed agreed upon prices, and we always strive to provide the utmost outstanding service to clients/customers alike. Even if at times it can come at a cost.
Plan your visit accordingly and make sure everyone in your group gets their order in by 10:30 on the dot, otherwise you may end up with an upset wife/ children after having to get them all back in the car to...
