"Our cafe offers inspired health-conscious cuisine focused on sustainable ingredients and organic whenever possible. Enjoy a delicious breakfast, brunch or lunch-with organic, vegan or gluten free options available."-David & Beatriz Gomez (828 Owners). (Quote from their website)

I had: Chicken or Chorizo Bowl. $9.99...

Chicken or Chorizo, Rice, Black Beans, Lettuce, Pico de Gallo, Sour Cream, Cheese, w/house Potato chips and house Roasted Salsa...add Avocado $1.69

Wife had: Chicken BLT Wrap $10.99...

Tomato Basil Wrap, Signature chicken tenders, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Ranch, w/side of house Potato Chips

Parking: The cafe has free parking and easily accommodated the lunch time crowd with spaces in the front (including handicap) as well on the side in a lot, and in the back as well.

828 Cafe's appearance from the street is striking!!! It features a mural of a black Bears face with the mountains in the background. It was done (according to website) by an artist friend named Marina who is amazing! Take time to walk around the outside and see all the different scenes she did.

Inside: 828 is order-@-the counter and take a seat and in a short bit your food is delivered. Many folks were ordering take-out or picking up orders already called in. If you're into Kombucha they have that too!

Food: The Chorizo Bowl was well composed, tasty, healthy, and filling. I would order again unless I decided to go for the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich instead, Lol. My wife really liked the Chicken BLT Wrap. It was plenty of food but light and healthy for lunch. The price point for lunch was good for us. The breakfast menu is worth it if you are there at that time of day. They have great choices of omelettes, french toast, waffles and breakfast bowls with some creative touches and often a Latin twist.

Drinks

Organic Coffee Drip 12 oz. $2.29 16oz $2.69 refill $1.00

Cold Brew 16 oz. $3.00

Specialty Drinks Kombucha $4.50 kefir Soda $4.50

I highly recommend (and no, I do not know the owners. It's the 1st time we have visited here.) ...we...

The food is good but not the best. As others mention there is a lack of flavor in some dishes but the chicken wrap is particularly good. I try to order for pickup at lunchtime because I work for a living and have a short lunch break but I will no longer bother going here for lunch again. I showed up with order waiting on counter but rather than getting to pay as the next person or so in the line I was told to get to the back of a 10 person line going outside waiting to order their lunch. Fifteen minutes later when I paid for the food in about a minute, the food was room temperature by then. Fries are not good cold! If you can't come up with a better solution don't offer this option. Maybe allowing to pay via CC on the phone would fix this. But besides cold food, after mentioning that the wait for a pickup wasn't good customer service I was told do I want my food or not. I guess this is the kind of attitude you take when you really don't care about your customers since the lunch busines is good. A dining establishment should never accept cold food as a good solution. Granted it is pickup so I don't expect hot but room temperature fries and meal, not 5 star worthy. If I want another chicken sandwich Chic-fil-la will be my go to as it is very close to the same quality for less money and I've never had cold food or poor customer service there.

Update. There was no disrespect except by staff. When I asked them if this long wait was acceptable practice for carry out. You then where the rude one. Thie private response only further conveys your contempt for your customers and no concern for providing them good dining experience. Changed from 3 stars to 1 for not owning anything in owners private response. I wasn't late, less than 10 minute drive from home so thats not why the food was cold. Rude, I mentioned I had called in an order...

We had the unfortunate experience of walking in last in our group of 7. We have a toddler under two and it took us an extra 30 seconds to get in the door....

While standing in line to order breakfast, the clock ticked over from 10:29 to 10:30; being the last of our group to order we waited for a hostess to return to the counter from the back, in the meantime we decided on what we would have, knowing the time constraints.

The hostess returned, closed the breakfast register, and then told us that they would no longer be serving breakfast, and that we would have to order lunch instead, pushing us to stand there to look at an entirely different menu. All the while, 3 separate groups of patrons walked in the door, forcing us to have a seat with our group to decide what to do.

As our group received their breakfast meals, we opted to pack it all back up and head over to Gracious plates on main where brunch cuts off at a relatively normal time.

I consider myself a reasonable individual, and an understanding person, but as someone that has worked in food service, and as a business owner myself, I have always honored people in the door, never changed agreed upon prices, and we always strive to provide the utmost outstanding service to clients/customers alike. Even if at times it can come at a cost.

Plan your visit accordingly and make sure everyone in your group gets their order in by 10:30 on the dot, otherwise you may end up with an upset wife/ children after having to get them all back in the car to...

I couldn’t recommend this place more! What a fun ambience, inviting atmosphere, and super friendly and funny and helpful staff! Their menu is incredible, and after enjoying our delicious breakfast, I wish I could stay here a week to try a new breakfast and lunch every day! Prices are reasonable for this day and age, especially for the quality and amount you get. They have so many options, including AƧaĆ breakfast bowls of delicious fresh fruit (peanut butter addition is a fun twist!), locally sourced meat for the proteins, delicious and airy fresh baked bread & pastries, wonderful in-house coffee blends, local kombucha and a variety of fresh teas, and we didn’t even get to try their lunch menu, which looks insane! We truly couldn’t recommend this delightful cafĆ© more, a reason alone to detour into Franklin. If you appreciate quality food and quality people, you will not regret it!

As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we knew this would be a fun place. The music had us dancing on the way up to order. We had service with a smile to answer any questions we had about the menu and specials. I decided to try the chicken burrito bowl with avacado and everything else that came with it. The breakfast and lunch menus both are loaded with options that make it hard to choose! The burrito bowl did not disappoint. Fresh ingredients that you could taste individually. Good rice, flavorful salsa and chicken, so many flavors that went together perfectly. It was like that dancing feeling walking in! :) It also came with very nicely cooked house made chips...which are definitely one of my love languages. When in the area, this place is a must try. Indoor and outdoor seating, good service, fresh food, good portion size.

We came just after they served breakfast and just before they started serving lunch. Some of their items are all-day breakfast, but I got a lunch item and my boyfriend got a breakfast item. The person at the register was very nice in explaining it to us, and ordering the food was easy. What I did not enjoy was that the meal ended up being almost $20 just for me, on top of the credit card surcharge and tip. The food itself was good, I got the chicken tender basket with the hand cut fries, and a side of ranch. The ranch was good, and the chicken tenders were crispy and hot. The fries were also crispy. The food was good, but it was not the best I’ve had for that price point, and for that reason, I’m not sure I’d come back.
