This was my first time there and tbh I don't feel a big urge to go back.
I walk in to a quite empty place. People run around in the kitchen. I don't see aprons or "normal" kitchen attire. After quite some time and bits of conversation from the kitchen I won't repeat, finally a rather gruff gentleman walks out from the kitchen and takes my order, very little of insight nor help since I clearly stated I am a first timer. Ordered. Paid. Waited. I had no idea if they bring it to the table or I have to carry it over. After some minutes the same gentleman tells me to sit down he brings it. Fine. Could have done with that information earlier but fine.
Food came with one item missing, but the Gent mentioned he will bring it.
The sides were small, canned beans, and a second I won't mention because that makes me discernable and I may go back to make sure it wasn't a fluke and the place is usually better.
I started to eat and the meat was actually decent, meat portions were generous. Now I am not generally difficult about condiment containers but the squeeze bottles on the table were not full and felt not super clean to the touch. May have been the particular plastic that was used but it didn't feel all that good. After quite some time I got the missing item.
I paid about 20 for this. Again the meat was ok, the sides were ok ish.
Would I write home about it? No. But I am not that big of a bbq guy so I refrain to talk about taste of sauces and meats. But I also won't complain as I don't felt anything bad.
Me going back? Possibly down the line I will give it another run, but I won't come running or anytime soon. Should you go? If you like good portions of meat in a bit tired environment...
Read moreAll I can say is heaven forbid if you have a problem because the management can't help and doesn't want to be bothered with. I have come here several times and until now never had an issue. I got a banana pudding. The first one was nothing but cookies then, the second one didn't hardly have anything in it. I told the young man I didn't want the first one and he said they all looked like it. He said he would get a manager and I waited for 11 minutes nobody ever asked me to wait they would be with me or anything. I had to go hunt the manager down myself. Didn't do much good to say anything because she acted like she couldn't be bothered. She gave me dirty looks and then said she couldn't help me right now. I went back to my table and waited some more. I again had to go back to the front and she ask what I needed. I tried to explain that I the pudding I had was full of cookies and I asked for another one and was told they all looked like the one I had. The manager just grabbed another one, sit on my tray and when I tried say something she kept cutting me off. Very rude service. When I requested for my money to be refunded I was told by the young man that the owner was the only one who refund money. I guess if this is the way the owner is going to run his business then he needs to be here from open to close. My only hope is the he gives better customer service than his employees. This will be my last trip here. Pretty bad when you'd rather lose a customer over a 3.99 pudding. The second pudding didn't even look or taste like banana pudding. Most banana puddings are yellowish mine was white. It's amazing how customer service can change. Just a year ago I raved...
Read moreI had a BLT with onion for breakfast there this morning and my husband had a steak and egg sammich. Staff was pleasant and wanted to make sure they got our order just right. It’s hard to mess up the basic, but it’s also hard to make them stand out as perfection. Every other BLT I have, from now on, will have a higher standard to live up to. The toast was buttery, but still had that good crunch to the outside (not soggy and limp like most places) the tomato, lettuce and onion were crisp and fresh. The bacon was crunchy, but not burnt. Juicy, but not greasy. The ratio of the bread, veggies, and meat was on point. This was the perfect BLT. This was what all other BLT’s want to be when they grow up. My husband said his steak sandwich was not what he expected, but very good. (His expectations are pretty set to Waffle House standards. Lol) I haven’t had anything else, but would recommend this place, definitely. If they can perfect something as common as a BLT, imagine what they could do with...
