Ordered several items for take-out. First time customer. For the record I don't do many reviews.
The fried rice was very good (beef, chicken)
The cashew chicken was pretty good. Some vegetables under cooked and the chicken was chewy - battered and fried. I have this dish frequently and it is much better if the chicken is stir fried, without batter. For my taste that's far superior to chicken nuggets.
The main problem was the "sweet and sour" pork. When I unpacked the order I saw I had received the battered fried pork (which was very good) and the "sweet sauce" which was also good. But no pineapple, bell peppers, onions, etc. (Their website menu does not include a picture or description of any sweet and sour dish). I assumed someone neglected to put those in the bag. When I called Asian Taste it took me several minutes to make the person understand I wasn't calling to place a new order. After he finally understood what I was saying he said their "sweet and sour' dishes only include the meat and the sauce, no vegetables. I asked him if he understood Asian Taste may be the only US Chinese restaurant that includes no "sour" in their "sweet and sour" dishes. He never understood what I was saying. The guy was trying to be nice but the language barrier was difficult.
So my experience was mixed - half of my order was good, the other half very disappointing and the overall experience very frustrating.
I may give Asian Taste another chance, but only after I try all the other...
Read moreThe food has always been good and the teenager who was always there to take our order super nice. The last time we went in and ordered take out I noticed there was no honey shrimp on the menu, as it had changed, but there was honey chicken. I asked if honey shrimp could be made and the older man taking my order got super offended and yelled at me. I ended up ordering a separate shrimp dish for my husband but asked it to be wrapped separately as I am horribly allergic. When handing over the order he pointed out the shrimp dish was wrapped on a plastic bag by itself and then put in with the rest of the order. I thanked him for taking the extra time to wrap it separately. When I got home I handed out the orders to my 3 kids and husband. They all started eating before me and discovered the dozen egg rolls I ordered had shrimp in them. Then one of my boys noticed there was a shrimp in the bottom of the hot and sour soup. I was aggravated that I couldn't eat any of that. Then when I stuck my fork into my General Tso's chicken there was a shrimp tucked inside there as well. I was furious. It was obvious at this point this was intentional. A shellfish food allergy is no joke. They intentionally added it to the soup and other dishes. My kids, who are thankfully not allergic, found a shrimp in each of their sweet and sour chickens as well. Thankfully I didn't eat anything before it was discovered, otherwise I would have ended up in the ER. We will NEVER...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to edit my review. Originally I gave this restaurant a high review and rating (5 star) and it’s now a 2.5 star for me. The first time I ordered here, a year ago, it was really really good but I’ve since ordered from here a few more times and unfortunately it’s no longer good. The food quality seems to have declined significantly. I most recently ordered the chicken and broccoli and while the sauce was good the chicken was absolutely awful. It was gelatinous and rubbery. It didn’t even taste like chicken. I also ordered the won ton soup recently and the flavor was okay but it was so oily I couldn’t stand to eat it and the won tons were not good either. The time before that we ordered a few dishes and we ended up throwing most away because it was just not good. The service though is fantastic and the gal who works the desk taking orders is so kind and friendly. My suggestion is they need to use higher quality ingredients especially the chicken. Taste is subjective so maybe you might like it but for me this went from a heck yes to a heck no. Sorry. The egg rolls are...
