We have Toby as our game host and did the island escape. We are a family of 5 and had a blast. So much fun. We solved it with 8 minutes to spare. Some items malfunctioned but they were there to help out. I would highly recommend it and will be back.

Breakout Games, located at 1209 Lakeview Drive, Franklin, TN, is the local branch of the Breakout Games chain offering immersive 60‑minute escape room adventures for teams of 2–8 people . The venue has received a solid reputation in the Franklin area and often ranks as one of the top escape rooms in the city, according to local listings .

Their lineup includes themed rooms like Mystery Mansion, The Kidnapping, Runaway Train, Bomb Squad, Wild West, and Island Escape . Each scenario has its unique storyline, from racing the clock aboard a hijacked train to escaping a volcanic island before it erupts. Difficulty levels vary, but most games are suitable for all experience levels and family‑friendly (age 10–14+ depending on room) .

One standout experience noted in online discussion is the Mystery Mansion room, described as a “classic escape room” with logical, well‑flowing puzzles and strong atmosphere, appealing to both novices and seasoned teams . Another frequently mentioned favorite is Island Escape, praised for its fun thematic elements, clever challenges, and friendly staff support—many reviewers report escaping with minutes to spare and enjoying family events like birthday groups .

However, some experienced players on Reddit have noted that earlier Breakout rooms like Do Not Disturb (set in a motel investigating a serial killer) felt dated or less cohesive, and found Island Escape to be a bit “old and cheesy” compared to more polished venues .

Customer feedback overall: TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews praise the friendly game masters, clear instructions, clean facilities, and engaging puzzles. Rooms like Runaway Train received frequent positive mention from TripAdvisor reviewers, especially for helpful game masters and lively pacing . On Yelp, reviewers advise smaller teams (2‑3 people) for better flow, as larger groups may feel constrained .

In summary, Breakout Games – Franklin offers a well‑rated, consistent escape room experience with multiple themed rooms of varying styles. It’s popular for families, birthday outings, team‑building, and casual players. If you’re after immersive puzzles with supportive hosts and reliable execution, it’s a dependable choice in Franklin’s...

TL:DR DON'T book "Island Escape," book any of their other rooms.

I'd like to start by saying the staff is very kind and accommodating, and they did their best. Our group completed two rooms here in the same day, one being Island Adventure and the other being Mystery Mansion. We had two very different experiences. Island Adventure frankly looked like a VBS room with overhead fluorescent lights, and was themed quite poorly. In addition, several of the puzzles didn't work. We actually had to leave the room for a few minutes while they fixed one of the puzzles. This breaks the immersion and takes away from the fun of the room. Also, I think our host felt pretty bad about the room, so she basically walked us through all of the puzzles. We didn't get to experience the satisfaction of solving much for ourselves. This left us feeling pretty disappointed.

I don't understand why the execs don't just remove or renovate this room. It's incredibly outdated and isn't worth the value at all. I'd have a hard time paying $20 per person for it. I reached out to their corporate office about Island Adventure and never heard back. I wish they would've offered some sort of partial refund or discount to make it right.

We ended up booking another room for later that night (Mystery Mansion) which was much better. We asked for no "nudges" (definitely recommend doing this if you're experienced) and escaped with ~15 minutes to spare. The room was very well themed and all the puzzles worked well. This was a HUGE improvement over Island Adventure!

Please, learn from our mistake and don't book Island Escape! I'm sure any other room is great, as the hosts said Island Escape was their...

Me and my family (group of 5) had a BLAST here!! We did the Wild West room and it was SO COOL!! The room leader Anna J was SO WONDERFUL!! She was very patient with us and SUPER SWEET!! And EXTREMELY HELPFUL! We had to ask for ALOT of hints because that's just who we are and she was brilliant each time! She really helped us work each hint through, I'd LOVE to come back next time and do this room again and try the other rooms! We will definitely be back!! Also I just want to say in response to the other negative reviews, that make zero sense BTW, this place is GREAT! It is NOT a scam, I attached the picture they took for us in the room! I'm a legit person, I am NOT paid by these people to post a reciew, I just wanted to post a review to share our wonderful experience!
