Culinary Dropout — Restaurant in Franklin

A new spot in Franklin is always cause for celebration. When Culinary was announced we were very excited. This was our second time here, the first being the soft open. I will be rating the real experience since the soft is somewhat staged. Let's break it down:

Food 5 Stars: this is where they excel. The menu is upscale comfort food. Their variety is well diverse and the quality is above average for this level of restaurant. I had the ribs and they were excellent. The bar drinks are expensive but prepared with creativity and care. Appetizers likewise are varied. We had the wings and pretzels. I would pass on both. Overall you will be pleased.

Service 4 stars: not bad but not great. Our server was very nice but way too busy to provide the attention needed. One of our drinks took 30 minutes to get and after 2 manager discussions it finally arrived. The manager comp the drink.

Atmosphere 3 stars: this is where they underperformed which is unfortunate given that it's a beautiful interior. The issue is noise. It has alot of hard services and they have a live band. It's too much. I would prefer either they remove the sound in the dining are or turn it down. With all the people plus the band, you can talk. Fix this please!

Overall it's nice. I don't know if I would go again for a dinner with friends due to the noise but would for lunch or bar. If you want a nice dinner without the noise you are better to go to North Italia, Perry's...

We had a great experience at Culinary Dropout. Our host, Will, was awesome. He checked on us every step of the way, and even got us a sample of some tasty dessert! Our server Thomas, was very attentive and really helped out with food and drink recommendations. The food was tasty. The atmosphere is excellent and the location was easy to get to. My wife called a week ahead to make a reservation. When she called to confirm the time on the day of the reservation about an hour before, they could not find the reservation, but were able to take another reservation.

However, when we arrived at the restaurant, they could not find either reservation. When we were seated, we waited for around 10 minutes and no one came to our table. We left without ordering....
