First time here with my husband was 12/2020, and it was fabulous. We knew we wanted to come back. Our bloodies and brunch tasted great! Unfortunately when we came back just very recently we had a very bad experience...
The female bartender was quite rude to us as we debated eating at the bar or adding our names to the table waitlist... As soon as she found out we were waiting for a table and weren't ordering breakfast at the bar her entire attitude changed ... I noticed her being overly friendly to ALL other bar patrons who had ordered drinks and food, except us....we got the cold shoulder the entire time. The only thing she said to us was 'then you better order drinks!', no duh...we're not sitting here for fun.. Other than that she didn't say a word to us! That started our experience off on the wrong foot. She had to have been the worst bartender I've ever had! Totally unacceptable behavior for treating paying customers!
Once our table was ready we were served by waiter Jorge. Things did turn around since he was attentive, friendly, and quite honestly one of the better waiters I've ever had. Unfortunately his kindness couldn't quite makeup for the rough start to the experience and I was SO bothered by this bartender that I ended up asking him if I could speak to the manager about my bad experience. I had the opportunity to express my concerns. I didn't want to just post a passive aggressive review about it, someone needed to know immediately just how poorly guests were being treated! She was willing to cover my drinks but it was too late, I'd already paid for them with Ms. Friendly bartender. So we got a treat to take home instead.
The public deserves the right to know of all experiences, good and bad, and I felt that I had a personal obligation to post this publicly for all to see.. Unfortunately for Honey Butter we won't be going back and will find other brunch places to stop in and give our money to. I don't tolerate being treated differently for only buying drinks vs. food at the bar and...
Read moreWe’ve been there twice. The first time the food was phenomenal but our service was not. I ordered the steak, eggs, potatoes, and pancakes. I highly recommend:) … Unfortunately, Our server never stopped back to see if we were enjoying our food or refill my coffee. It wasn’t overly busy at the time either and she walked past us several times without a word. She also just seemed as, well, like she didn’t want to be there. Not necessarily rude but just not at all enthusiastic about her job.
Our second time there, they sat 4 of us at a very small booth while seating groups of 2 in the larger booths that were open when we arrived as well. Our server was very nice and ontop of her job. Although, she had the bar and a few booths she did well! I ordered the chicken and waffles for my meal. Everyone else got a meal with the house potatoes added. It seemed that we got our food within maybe 10 minutes of ordering, which I felt it was kinda fast but was happy to be getting it as I was hungry. I noticed that everyone’s potatoes looked raw compared to last time as they were a nice crispy golden brown our previous visit. My husband agreed as he didn’t care for them this time. I proceeded to eat my chicken and noticed the first bite seemed grisly and weird. I look at my chicken and it was still bloody and even purple in the middle. It was raw. I tell our server and she apologizes and asks if I want something else. Now, I’m turned off from eating meat so I say I just want the waffle. I would of eaten the one that was in the plate but they made me a new one. When we get our bill she says we took off the chicken and waffle for you. I was under the impression that my waffle was also free since it was apart of the chicken and waffle but it wasn’t. They still charged us for what I ate after giving me undercooked chicken and literally only took off the chicken not the waffle.
In conclusion, the food is good (when not raw, lol) but you really need to work on your...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this place for a while after hearing great things about it. It was pretty busy, with a steady flow of people coming and going. For my husband and me, the wait for a table on a Saturday morning was around 20 minutes, so we decided to sit at the bar instead. When it's just the two of us, I don't mind sitting at the bar, and I understand that bartenders are busy making drinks for other patrons.
We received menus and waters shortly after sitting down, along with some honey butter dough balls. While we appreciated the treat and were excited to try them, there was no mention of what they were when they were placed in front of us. Perhaps regulars know to expect them? It took a little while for someone to take our order, but given the large menu, I understand they might want to give you time to decide. We ordered a coffee, spicy Bloody Mary, and brown sugar cinnamon latte to drink, along with a Greek omelet and Wisconsin skillet bowl to eat.
Unfortunately, my latte tasted like it didn't have any espresso in it, and it looked quite pale. I didn't mention it at the time, thinking the difference might be due to ordering it iced instead of hot. However, as I watched the bar, I noticed other lattes that were much darker than mine. The food itself was good, and the portion sizes were generous--we ended up taking about half of it home. The toast that came with our meals was a bit cold and tough, and I was hoping the cheese curds in the skillet bowl would have been warmer and meltier; I initially mistook them for cheesy potatoes.
Overall, we would return to try other dishes and give the service another shot, but it's not at the top...
