Just stayed in this hotel for a weeklong basketball camp that my son attended. Here are my thoughts:||Lobby/Front Desk||The hotel is apparently only 6 months old and is nice and spacious. Lobby is clean and modern and there are lots of places to sit, do work, etc. We dealt with several people at the front desk and it was a mix of good and bad: some were nice and helpful, while others were fairly rude. I asked for a late checkout one night and a woman (who I assume was some kind of manager), said “depends on housekeeping” which seemed to be a weird response as most hotels can usually accommodate a late checkout unless they are overbooked. I asked later that night and was granted late checkout by another woman, only to have housekeeping knock on my door the next day and ask why I was still in there. I realize this isn’t the Four Seasons, but it seems like some customer service training is in order for some of the staff. They have a small “mini mart” where you can get snack, drinks and others stuff which was nice.||Breakfast||Most of these types of hotels usually have free breakfasts, which is a good selling point and this one was pretty standard. It would have been nice if they changed up the food every so often, but it was the same exact stuff. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. They didn’t run out of anything and it seemed to be stocked fairly often so that was good, but it had fairly limited hours: 6-9am. Would have been nice to have an extra hour if you were sleeping in.||Rooms||We had a double queen room which was a pretty standard size and was comfortable. Beds were nice and soft and everything was clean, but you could notice where they cut corners during construction (paint splotches on walls, uneven carpet tiles, etc.) They also placed us right by the elevators and, while it wasn’t super busy, one of the two elevators was broken for our whole stay and we could hear the workers pretty clearly as they tried to fix them. They only service the room every 3 days unless you request more service, but even then they’ll only do a “light” cleaning. This was somewhat annoying considering the trash cans were small and trash tends to pile up pretty quickly when staying in a hotel for a week. I could see this not being an issue for 1-2 day visitors, but they should really offer more frequent service for people staying longer. One other weird note is that the hallway outside our room was absolutely freezing. The room itself was either sort of stuffy or freezing - there wasn’t really an in between. We did have a microwave and fridge was a nice.||Overall it was a decent hotel for the price - nothing exceptional though. If you’re here for a baseball or basketball tournament I could see it being a convenient place to stay as the fields and gym are literally right down the street. Besides the one elevator being broken, the pool was closed for half of our stay. It didn’t affect us, but I could see being annoyed if you were planning on using it. If they get some cs training for their front desk staff it would be a big step in making this a nice...
Read moreHotel was in a great location. Walking distance to our concert venue. I originally booked online to stay Friday - Monday. I asked the front desk clerk if we could check out a day early. I didn't want to be stuck paying a cancelation fee, and she assured me that all would be fine. Otherwise we would have stayed the extra night.
I called 2 times trying to get my folio so I could confirm the final price was correct. First time they said they were having issues and couldn't email it to me. Second time the women I spoke to said there was a weird balance so she'd have to have someone else look at it. Shortly after I got my folio in my email.
They ended up manually entering in a charge for the night we did not stay, when I called back, she said that I'd have to wait ti speak to a manager tomorrow. She mixed up the days and said that's why she entered in the charge. She said she'd leave a note for her manager.
I called back the next day around 9:30 as I had not heard anything and the manager was not there. The hotel called me shortly after 10am. At this point they not only charged me for the night I didn't stay they charged me for an additional night because of the manual entry charge. So at this point I was being charged for 4 nights when I only stayed 2.
They were able to reverse the charge. Once they figured it out they told me what the refund would be and I walked the manager through the fact that the refund wasn't correct, it was about $4 short.its not a huge amount but still overcharged me for a mistake they made. It was...
Read moreThe staff was wonderful, hotel clean and well run, breakfast area and lobby very nice. Beds comfortable and sheets very nice, pillows too.
The people in the room next to us caused noise and disturbances from 9:00 pm to 3:30 am on the Saturday night of our stay. (I called the front desk two times.) I wish the hotel staff could have kicked them out. I was scared for the staff who had to deal with them. It sounded like the people were breaking furniture in the room. Doors slamming, pizza delivered late night (around 11:00) loud music and shouting. I was told by another guest that staff was afraid to kick them out because they were claiming discrimination. I just wanted to get some sleep. I did considered leaving in the middle of the night. I would return to this hotel as the room is really nice and staff really nice. Please allow your staff to remove the bad guest, otherwise your company will get a reputation for allowing bad actors (potentially criminal damaging or disturbing the peace activity) to stay at your hotels. Choice company should have allowed the local staff to kick...
