Was interested to try the buffet but haven’t been so disappointed in a restaurant in a long time. Being charitable, I suppose its possible the made to order food is better. But the buffet robbed me of $24. Very small selection - the pizza was cold and old. Only one cheese pizza available under an insufficient hearing lamp. The other food was lukewarm - just in warming dishes and had sat for who knows how long. Pasta sauce tasted like straight from a jar. Chicken was pale and and lukewarm. Meatballs were tough and unpleasantly unflavored of cheap beef. Overall everything was pretty much gross. Service was inattentive, and the dining room was cold. Were not given utensils, never got promised bread. Pretty much a miserable experience. Made me jealous of the diners at Roy Rogers across the parking lot. I beg of you, skip this buffet.

I’m not a pizza person so I’ve always avoided going here (I know I know) buuut we went late after soccer and the place was empty but I don’t understand why! The customer service was amazing and the food was delicious!! Calamari is the best I’ve had in Frederick, the wings were plumb and juicy with great flavor, my husband loved his Stromboli and my salmon Caesar was good. There was a little too much dressing on the salad but it was good. The beers (Miller and Yuengling drafts) were very warm which is the only complaint I have. Everyone we talked to was super super nice. Also bread and dip was 🔥🔥🔥

The restaurant was very clean and the waiter was fast at attending us and our food came out piping hot and tasted really good. I had penne alla vodka with grilled chicken. I ate it pretty it fast and forgot to take a picture. I like how you can order a small portion pizza and it comes out fresh and the portions are worth the price. I was really stuffed with my pasta but, the pizza was too good to not have some. I didn’t get any dessert but, everything I had was good and Id recommend this place to anyone.

its friday afternoon (07Jun2024) and i had a hankering for a cheese steak. finished with my doctor appointments, i headed to Hero's. i heard their pizzas and sandwiches were magnificent. i ordered the Selvin (12 inch please, because i am a most manly man). the sammy came and it was glorious! the bread was fresh, soft, and smelled wondrous. it came with lettuce and tomato, both of which were crunchy with freshness. the meat was wonderfully seasoned! various other cheese steaks that i have ordered throughout the county were not as properly seasoned (i had to add more salt and pepper). Each bite was like poetry from Aphrodite. needless to say, i liked this sammich a lot.

Ambience - they piped 80s rock. so i sang along! it was a Gen Xer's wet dream, great music and an amazing sandwich.

Update - 08Jun2024 Second Hero’s Review TLDR - Sorcery! What sorcery is THIS?

Hero’s has pizza, pasta, and sandwiches (AKA Sammiches). Their Selvin was a magnificent morsel, and today, 08Jun2024, I tried out the Penne ala Vodka and the Cheese Pizza (the base for all other pies). Penne ala Vodka – Pasta itself was al dente, great texture, nice chewiness. In the words of Shaft, “I dig it!”. Now, the sauce. Great tomato base, with only a hint of acidity. Usually, with tomato based sauce, I get the acid reflux, but as Arya Stark once said, NOT TODAY! I had no stomach issues with this sauce. Then you taste the parmesan cheese in the sauce, as you continue to chew. And lastly, the prosciutto’s flavor comes out. With each chew, each bite, the flavors converge in your mouth, and all I can say is GLORIOUS! Cheese Pizza – tomato based sauce (see above). it does not overpower the flavor of the cheese. I can assume any other topping’s flavour will shine as you bite into the pizza. The crust though, is splendid. There is a wonderful crunch, and saltiness that only compliments the sauce and toppings. And the crust also has that smokiness that enhances everything! In short, once again, MAGNIFICENT! Ambience – today was 90s music. And I WANT IT THAT...

My fiance and I love pizza and we have tried numerous pizza places in Frederick and the surrounding area. We thought we found our pizza place in Hero's. Initially the food and service was great. It is our tradition to have pizza every Friday and it has been Hero's until after today. We had noticed the last several weeks that something was off. The service wasn't as great and the pizza sauce tasted different. We then noticed a sign stating Hero's was under new management. We were willing to give the new management a try, knowing it might take some adjustment. Well, it didn't take long for it to be our favorite pizza place to never going there again. Today was the last straw. It started with us calling to order our pizza. They answered and asked if we could hold. We of course said yes. The phone was put down and we could hear everything going on. We did not hear them talking to another line nor talking to another customer at the register. We just heard them talking to each other. We waited for five minutes and finally hung up. We attempted to call back with us getting a message stating nobody is available to answer the call. We tried calling back about 7 more times, getting the same message. We finally arrived and explained what had happened. They stated that they were having issues with their phones. Right after that comment, another customer came in and said they had a call in. They retrieve their order. Right then and there we knew they were lying, especially since they had Initially answered our first call. There is no doubt in my mind that they put the phone down and forgot to check it again, hence the messages were getting. Unfortunately for us, we will now have to find a new pizza place. Ever since new management, Hero's has went downhill quick and we will...

I would like to post about a wonderful family restaurant in Frederick, MD. The restaurant is Heros, it was my first time going to sit and eat in. They had a beautiful fresh salad bar with meat balls in sauce and ravioli in this rich creamy sauce. I have always order food to go, but this time after my radiation treatment I decided to go and sit inside and eat. Being that I have been going to radiation treatments, some days I don’t feel my best. This place is clean, everyone is so nice and genuine. It is a family restaurant so it is a nice atmosphere to sit in. I sat near the food bar and was able to see everyone coming in picking up their orders and just full of smiles and happiness. The food is always really good and everything I have had from Heros is delicious. From their pizza to the most yummy steak and cheese that is my regular to go to. Now the salad bar it’s wonderful. I had a great experience and felt so much better after visiting this place. I truly feel that this restaurant deserves a shout out. Finally I would like to say that Pamela, came to greet me at my table, ask me if everything was okay, if I needed anything else. She is extremely exceptional in the way she serves the customers in this restaurant. I am delighted to have visited Heros yesterday after my radiation treatment, it made the rest of my day better. This place is a diamond in the heart of Frederick...
