When I first entered the hallowed halls of Swirls, I was met with melodic strains that filled the air, captivating my senses and stirring a delightful thrill within me. The vibrant lime green decor struck me with awe, elevating my spirit and reminding me of my own place within society. Lime green has long been my favored hue; I donned it on both my wedding day and in my youthful days! On that fateful day, I too was adorned in lime green, believing that my cherished tuxedo was a token of good fortune, my good luck charm! Though, it seems I was mistaken, as my wife and I are currently filing for divorce. Nevertheless, in this singular instance, perhaps my lucky charm tuxedo isn’t so wrong after all, for the ice cream was nothing short of divine. I indulged in both mint chocolate chip and banana pudding on separate occasions, each flavor transporting me back to my childhood, when I would eagerly plead with my mother for a mere quarter to procure a scoop from the local vendor. How simple those times were, when a quarter could buy such joy. Indeed, I would choose Swirls over those simpler delights any day! Though my review is lengthy, I wish to convey my profound affection for this establishment. My family and I are big ice cream fans, and we found this locally-owned mom and pop ice cream shop while on vacation—we’re so glad we did! The staff (a great group of friendly teens along with the owners) welcomed us warmly and offered generous samples to help us decide from the huge selection of flavors. The shop itself is clean, inviting, and has plenty of seating, which made it easy for our family to relax and enjoy. We tried a scoop of key lime pie (amazing!), a milkshake (my husband’s a milkshake snob and loved it), and a soft serve cone (my son said it’s the best he’s ever had—and that’s saying something!). The variety, quality, and customer service here are top-notch. We’ve got great ice cream back home in Ohio, but this place tops them all. We’re planning return visits before our vacation ends so we can try more flavors and menu items.

Frederick is lucky to have this gem of an ice cream shop!...

Hours online need updated. States 930am- just attempted to visit at 11:25 on a Saturday morning. A woman is inside but did not unlock the door. Attempted to patron first time at 11:00am; through the window the lady asked for us to come back in 10 minutes. We did (now 11:25am), and she still wouldnt open the door. Odd, not good customer service, and not a good way to establish new business. Was excited to try a new small business in Frederick. Leaving disappointed.

**If there were mechanical, technical, logistical issues etc. it would have been courteous to at least explain that in-person or not ask us to come back in 10min. to only then ignore us standing in front of the door. I am extremely understanding to hiccups with new store openings, but not to poor customer service. Unfortunately, I dont believe we'll come back...
