I purposely bypass 2 other chipotle locations just to come to this one that is usually well kept in terms of cleanliness, and usually has good customer service. Last night at around 8:30 that completely changed. I walked in to a fairly empty restaurant. I was the only one in line and a man seemed to have been waiting for a to-go order on the side.
When I walked up I wasnāt greeted or even acknowledged. I noticed the employee wearing a Steelers mask hadnāt started to prepare the online order that came in, but chose to fill it as I was standing there waiting. I didnāt mind waiting being that again I was the only one in line, but most times youād hear āIāll be right with youā or something to acknowledge the fact you have someone waiting. There was nothing. He said nothing.
While he was preparing the persons online order he touched several different surfaces with his gloves on, and before he finally came over to start my bowl heās wiping rice and beans onto the floor with the same gloves. Never changed gloves.I was turned off then and should have left, but I wanted to see how the rest of the experience played out.
When it was finally my turn, he didnāt say anything. He just looked up at me and motioned his hand for me to start ordering. As Iām telling him what I wanted heās dropping the bowls from mid air to the service line, rolling his eyes, shaking his head, and aggressively moving the bowls down the line with an attitude.
It was clear he had an attitude and wanted someone to notice. Not sure who, but your customer should not be the one to do so.
After about 10 minutes at this point, the bowls are done. Poorly, but done. I get to the end where at the register the manager is going back and forth with an employee about a discrepancy with his paycheck. Not the place for that sort of meeting I imagine, but considering everything else they clearly didnāt care where they met. After the conversation was done the manager looked in my direction, looked down at the orders on the line that have not yet been bagged (the online order before and my order), and proceeded to walk to the back saying nothing.
There was a girl who was on the register but disappeared as the online order was being filled. She never returned, and no one else came to the register. I left without food and went somewhere else.
Lengthy review Iām sure. I donāt usually write reviews, but many people like me will look at them and decide whether or not to visit a place based on them. With the lack of customer service and clear disregard for food safety, I hope I can help someone make the right choice and avoid this location. Since I had been here before, I didnāt bother checking the reviews but I wonāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not sure if recipes or instructions have changed but recently at more than one chipotle location Iāve had a problem with too much liquid in my bowl. If the bowl was sized for that or could seal better it wouldnāt be a problem but on todayās visit I had reached the middle of the restaurant and realized I had a waterfall of liquid pouring out of my bag all over me and the floor. I quickly stopped and took the bowl out and flipped it over so it wouldnāt soak through the cardboard I threw out the bag and wiped up the mess I left on the table. It then leaked more on the seat of my car. So, I guess between the wet beans and wet barbacoa and lack of space for the liquid once the food fills the bowl, the liquid is just forced out of the sides. I love the food but am wondering if itās worth it considering this is a reoccurring problem lately. I donāt want to create a slipping hazard and I donāt want to ruin my work clothes or any of my clothes for that matter and I donāt want liquid soaking into my car seats. I mean I donāt think I should have to come wearing protective gear and bring my own container and cover my car seats just to be able to enjoy some food especially since the cost of it has risen and I donāt have to go through this in the past or anywhere else. I think if the food is drained better perhaps this wonāt be a problem. I canāt imagine the size of the problem had I had multiple bowls leaking in my bag but it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have gone to this location twice and that's twice too many! I will NEVER step foot in this location again. I will always choose the Central Park location every time. The last time I sent a mobile order in, I got there and it wasn't ready at the time that was promised. Not only that, the girl making my burrito had it out in the open, walked away to do something and then came back to it. That's disgusting! Just think of what could have fallen into my open burrito during that time. The chips I got were stale and the girl making my food was rude too. This time, I ordered tonight and my food was wrong. I ordered online so it's in black/white what I wanted so how could anyone get it wrong? I wanted a burrito and instead got a bowl, chips were stale (again) and they ran out of queso. How do you run out of queso? Not to mention, I didn't get a fork to eat said food. Of course, I was at work and couldn't take the food back but it didn't stop me from calling and complaining. Fortunately, the person on the other end was apologetic and will be refunding my money but I will never step foot in that location again. I understand that we all have bad days and I usually don't complain but every time? That's not coincidence. Everyone that works there seems to be young and doesn't care about their work ethic. They either need new management or new...
