When the views from a hotel is the sunset and one of the most popular hospital in America, you know you definitely have to check it out! Hyatt Place is located in downtown historical Fredericksburg! It is surrounded by lots of tourists attractions and absolutely gorgeous too! #tiktokgo #holidayvacation #tiktokhotels #tiktokgostay #hyattplace

In a quaint little historical city like Fredericksburg, the Hyatt Place is such a luxurious hotel. It is located downtown in walkable proximity to Mary Washington hospital! There are so many restaurants, tourists attractions, markets, etc surrounding the hotel. The lobby is clean, sparsely but ornately decorated to be welcoming. #holidayvacation #fyp #tiktokgostay #hyttplace #hotelsandresorts

First, the positive: The front desk people were very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was great. The location was nice. Now, the negative: Upon arrival, our assigned room appeared to have been cleaned, until we found large used napkin folded in the sofa bed, more garbage on the floor, a used kleenex and a women's sanitary napkin wrapper on the floor. It was the pad wrapper that sent us back downstairs to request a new room. The front desk was nice enough to agree, and fortunately, they had one more double queen room left. We went to the other room. This one was much better, with only a plastic knife with cream cheese on it on the floor. With 4 exhausted kids, we felt like we could accept the cream cheese knife. The next morning, I asked the front desk clerk if our room could be cleaned every day. He assured me that was the policy unless requested to not have housekeeping. I also told him that the conditioner dispenser was full of watered-down shampoo and asked if we could get conditioner. On our fourth night now with perpetually tangled hair. That day, the housekeeping was great. The beds looked awesome. We had fresh towels, etc... The second day we were gone, I thought housekeeping had been forgotten completely, but then I realized, no, they had in fact been in because our dirty towels were gone but not replaced with new ones. Beds were not made, garbage was not replaced, and the empty toilet paper dispenser was not filled. The third day we were gone, we came back to a room that had been 'housekept,' but we are now almost completely out of toilet paper, and we found our beds made in a fashion. (Pictures attached to review) Now, I understand there is probably a learning curve to good housekeeping. But the inconsistency and the garbage upon initial visit was a little much to handle. For a hotel that is charging well around $150 per night, I kind of want toilet paper, towels, and no garbage on the floor. Maybe?

I would love to give a 0 this hotel was the biggest mistake we ever made for an overnight stop florida -pa . 1st we originally made our reservation for this location Friday June 25th ( on our way home to pa from fl) but decided to stay in Florida an extra day needing to stay in va ( sat June 26th) ( but we would not have confirmation of our stay there until Friday a.m I spoke to one of the managers to see if it would be OK to book both dates possibly needing to cancel the Friday date he said it was no issue I contacted the hotel immediately Friday once I knew my arrangements were ok in Florida to cancel the Friday va stay and informed them I would be arriving sat only. Saturday we traveled and hit a ton of traffic as well as poor weather conditions Which caused us to be a late night arrival I decided to keep contact with the hotel letting them know we were still definitely coming but it will be around midnight they said there was no issue upon arriving at midnight exhausted from the long travels there was no one at the front desk for at least 20 minutes finally the representative of the hotel appeared I asked for a cart because we had an immense amount of luggage I was told there were none available I then later had to carry all the luggage by hand . Also had to leave several items in the car because without a cart it was impossible . After I was checked in and told I was being charged for the previous night as a " no show" and that it was just a hold on my card (it was to be adjusted in the a.m ) so I didn't make a stink (just a hold) the woman took the next guest to check in ( making me wait an additional 20 minutes or so ( still no cart ) we now bring all the luggage we could carry without the cart up to the room to find the t.v remote did not work and we would still like to get the remaining items from the car ( need the cart) I call down to the front desk ( no answer ) called again several times ( no answer.....finally I called from my cell instead of room ozone ( she finally answers) no cart sorry she says i then feel anxiety leaving this in an unattended parking lot . Asked if I can speak to a manager and was told there would not be one until a.m .... I then call hyatt 800# make a case and was told in thee a.m to try and resolve it with the hotel i woke up and did just that only to be insulted by the most unprofessional manager I have ever met ( both appearance and demeanor) he called me a liar about my concerns from the previous evening refusing to fo any type of adjustment to the bill but did say he would not charge me for that missed night since it was a misunderstanding . I then brought to his attention that there was a bug in the room he pretty much ran away from me again and called me a liar ( I tried to show him pics( his employee Samantha witnessed how poorly this man Andrew treated me she stated she was embarrassed (just imagine how I the guest felt) Andrew mentioned he was aware if my call to the 800 # and was highly annoyed. Later this evening I received a bill charging me for 2 nighs (which i believe was spite) I again contact the hotel got a hold of frank who agreed he indeed remembered I stated we may have needed to cancel the Friday stay....also told him all that transpired ( he stated he would speak . With andre in the a.m to adjust the bill ... ( just incase I contacted the owner of this property as well as hyatt . I want / demand an apology for how I was treated this a.m as well as a full refund . This is not the hyatt standard from what I know hyatt to be ( i stay hyatt most of the time when I travel (aside from my timeshare ) never again will I stay at this location and I advise anyone else traveling to find an alternative. Andrew should not be a manager with his horrible attitude, poor customer service skills. Hope hyatt takes a deeper look at...

Rarely do I write reviews, but I was very disappointed for the price and what we were expecting at all.

Cons:

-Construction was ongoing which we were not made aware of. Luckily we were there on a weekend and they weren't working, but it is very obvious the hotel in under construction as paper mats are laid everywhere and areas are off limits. Fitness room and pool were not available during our stay.

-Was there any breakfast offering? Probably, because it smelled like it. I'm not sure though, as they never told us if there was when checking in and there was no pamphlet, paper, or anything in the room with any info on what the hotel had to offer.

-The bathroom door in our room is a frosted door, which is odd because you can see shadows through it. Not like that matters though, because it is a sliding door and the only way to actually shut it is to lock a latch, which of course was not working in our room at all (the latch wasn't even in the wall). So the bathroom door just sat shut and could be opened by sliding whenever. An oddly placed mirror too shows right into the bathroom when you are anywhere in the room, which isn't fund when you have a young child who looooves to opens doors lol. Just odd.

-The TV just didn't work? We had a DirectTV remote and it looked like they had it, but there was only one ABC channel. The DirectTV remote would only work to change the input on the TV, of which only the single HDMI we were on was already selected. We spent about half an hour trying to figure it out to no avail.

-One of the lamp shades was literally hanging on by a thread. Two of the three threads holding it on were ripped off, and it was just hanging halfway down holding on to the last thread.

-The shower rod cover was coming off exposing the rubber under it. Also, there was no way to shut the fan off in the bathroom. It just constantly drones no matter what all the time.

pros:

-Staff were very kind. Rooms were clean.

-Location is great if you have to stay near the University. We were staying here as a halfway point between where we were going and the airport, so location wasn't a factor for us.

Look, we felt safe there, they were kind, and the rooms were clean, but the expectation of what other reviews say vs. what we experienced just doesn't match up at all. The two starts isn't so much for the hotel being BAD as it is for falling short of expectations based on the reviews and for the...

I am writing this review today, the day Hurricane Florence has hit the NC coast. We are hurricane evacuees from Wilmington, NC. We chose this hotel to evacuate to because of nearby family. We would have stayed with our family to save money but we are allergic to pets, so we chose this hotel because my sister has a sister-in-law who is a Hyatt employee and could give us a Family/Friend discount, which was affordable due to the many unexpected costs to us in the past few days preparing for the hurricane. We were expecting a rate of $79.99 each night and have now found out after being here that the Family rate wasn't extended to us because the reservation wasn't done properly by my sister. Now we are expected to pay $129.99 each night. Obviously, if we would have had the time we would have done this ourselves, but at the time we were boarding up our home and making major preparations. We appreciate what our family was trying to do to help us save money. So here we are with this rate that is too expensive. We obviously can't afford it so we are now checking out with all of our personal belongings. We had two cars to pack in the event that our house was destroyed in the storm. We had settled into the room, but now are seeking a more affordable place to stay, adding more stress to our current situation. When asked about a possible Hurricane Evacuee discount, none was afforded to us. When explaining this to our children cramped in this room with all of our most personal belongings, I just told them to see the good in people and to remember those that helped us. Now going through this we have learned a lot about preparation and about the good of people and companies, like the casinos in Georgia and NewJersey, and multiple AirB&B families who opened up their homes to the evacuees for free. We did speak with the front desk manager who spoke with the General Manager who said they could not help us with honoring the original rate that was promised to us or offer a hurricane discount or AAA discount. I hope in the future that no one has to experience a hurricane evacuation, but if you do, I would not consider a Hyatt Place facility. A very...
