We were a bit disappointed with our visit. As we drove by, we saw international cuisine and were hoping we would see a mix of cuisines (considering we are in Fredericksburg with German heritage). In this case, international just means Mexican and American breakfast/lunch. Mexican is in our blood so we stayed and ate. Overall, food was ok but not 4.7 star worthy. Ordered the Chilaquiles with Tomatillo sauce and it was tasty ($18) but home potatoes felt stale and beans were bland. Kids ordered pancakes which fell apart and all three complained they were dry (And oh btw.. pancakes are their jam). Wife had biscuit and gravy. It was ok but nothing to write home too. A little bit annoyed that we were charged an automatic 20% gratuity for 2 adults and 3 kids. I will usually leave 15% min and bump up based on various factors but I fell automatic is warranted for large/complicated parties. We eat out pretty regularly and that was a first. I understand the large parties or typical 6+ rule. We literally ordered and did not ask for any further service. I am also not one to complain about the food that was given, I will just let other folks know what it was. A little pricey for what it was.... Kids even said, "We might as well should have just had Sushi for breakfast at...
Read moreOn May 7th my sis and I were stoping through Fredericksburg for a quick breakfast/brunch on a Sunday while we were heading to Abilene, TX. We stumbled upon " Nury's "!!! Boy! Were we ever Plesently Surprised! (This is back when they were located off of Main St.). We waited. But not for long. We observed the service given to others and then ourselves and it was Great! All the servers, cooks, owner and managers were like One Big Team. I was so very impressed. They did so well with the conditions that they were under in the old gas station building. The food was "off the chain" yummy. Even when I was full I still wanted to keep eating because the flavors I could not get enough of! My sis and I still talk about your food and that we need another dose of Nury's Yummyness! On a side note....My husband and I owened 2 Resturant a long while ago. One was an outside and the other a dine in only. I do recognize a well organized operation when I see it. I can't wait for the time we get to come back and see you all at your new spot and bring my...
Read moreI was so very disappointed. I had the Cubana, and I couldn't even pick it up. The bottom of the bun was soaked in grease. The fried potatoes were wet. My husband's food was worse. He said the ranchero sauce tasted like they took a can of store bought enchilada sauce and mixed it with franks red hot. I honestly only tasted watered-down sauce with a gritty texture like it had been frozen and then thawed in the microwave. I didn't really have a big taste of it, though, after he told me he didn't like it.
Also, I ordered a peach bellini. The menu said "peach puree and champagne." What I got was a glass of very cheap champagne. We asked why it didn't have a peach flavor or any of the puree. The response was that it wasn't supposed to. Just champagne and "bellini flavor," which he said they absolutely did add. When I said I couldn't taste it, he said he was sorry and just walked off.
We paid and left after just a few bites of food. I'm so disappointed after seeing a 4.6...
