Stay ANYWHERE ELSE in Fredericksburg but here. I called to book a reservation for 2 rooms for my parents and I for a weekend. I made a reservation for 2 King rooms on the bottom floor, as my parents have mobility issues and can’t walk upstairs to the Queen rooms. Also, pictures online of the Queen rooms are not impressive. I verified that my rooms would not be changed and received a confirmation email with the price and description of the King rooms. On the day of our stay, when we arrived to check in, we were told they only had Queen rooms and were fully booked and had zero explanation for how our reservation had been changed. I have no idea how not one, but TWO rooms get downgraded on a confirmed reservation? I showed the staff my confirmation email and only received clueless faces. When we asked to speak to a Manager, we were given a phone # for a Sharon Moose, who apparently was too busy at her other business, “Attic Storage” to bother to return our multiple phone calls. Again, the staff reported being “fully booked” with “no other King rooms available” even though we saw many other guests arrive after we checked in. With no other available rooms on the property, and all other hotels in Fredericksburg booked on a busy weekend – we were stranded. My poor parents STRUGGLED up and down stairs the entire weekend. Their shower put out scalding water and was a safety issue. Our bathroom had a soaked, stained toilet paper roll in the holder. Our room had a huge crack in the ceiling. Chairs in our room had disgusting stains. Housekeeping banged (not knocked) on our door @ 0800 on Saturday morning. I didn’t receive a phone call from management until 2 hours before check out on Sunday morning. Her voicemail was a quick “sorry for the mix up”. Our compensation for a ruined stay was a $50/night refund. I know there are some good reviews for this location, which is why I booked with them to begin with. Just be aware that what happened to us can potentially happen to you if you choose to stay here. Whatever your reservation, it’s not guaranteed. They can and will change your reservation to suit them. I have stayed in Fredericksburg many times and I would recommend Fredericksburg Inn & Suites or Inn on Barons Creek – these locations are much cleaner, closer to Main St., and are actually managed professionally. I’ve included photos of our stained chairs, soiled toilet paper roll, & extensive cracking in our room. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE.

I loved this little motel. It is a little gem a not too far off the main Street in Fredericksburg, also not far from restaurants that you could walk to in about 15 minutes or drive to. The location was quiet; it felt private and insulated from traffic. At the motel, you park your vehicle in the carport adjacent to your room. The place was quiet, clean, smelled good, no bugs or mold. A/C worked well. No gross carpets, only wood floors. There was a mini fridge and microwave, and a table with two chairs. Bathroom was small but good with the exception of the shower head suffering from limescale buildup, which is common in Central Texas. The beds were good. Of the pull-out bed in the couch, the mattress was stained (both sides) and in need of replacement. And the bedspread covering the couch also didn't look great (some stains). But those were minor things that would not deter me from staying here again. There was a small front porch with a bench which was nice to sit on just to be outdoors while everyone else got ready inside the room. The breakfast was Continental style breakfast (pre_packaged) such as pastries, granola bars, little cereal boxes, coffee, etc. Happy to say there were vegan options during my visit. They had two friendly cats in the office. Check in and check out is old school and very easy. The staff was very friendly and helpful both days. The price was fine. When I stayed there in July it was $129 for the double room for four people ($149 after taxes & fees). Overall, I would recommend it.

I have mixed emotions for this hotel. It is cute, quaint, quiet, and clean. Home style type rooms. I'm not sure if all the rooms are like ours. Our room had a note to not put the a/c below 70 due to the possibility of it freezing up. The ceiling fan seemed to only go 1 speed. We were hot as hell both nights because of it. Getting the worst nights sleep I've had in a while. The bed was like sleeping on concrete with an egg crate cusion. The sink fills with water if you have too high of flow of water. You had to hold down the lever on the toilet to make sure it flushed. The shower spray was not good for shorter people. Just for esthetics, the tv cords should be concealed and a shelf put up for the direct tv box. The people in the office are very nice. Their black cat scratched me and sliced the edge of my hand. There should be a warning about that cat for people not to touch it. Cat lovers would definitely try to pet the cat, like me. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the room. It wasn't a miserable stay. Just think they need to make their plumbing better and getting better a/cs. I probably won't go back due to the heat in the room. Oh and the door in our room needs weatherstripping. That alone would help with the heat in the room.

I checked in the hotel Nov. 17, 2017 around 7:40 pm -8pm. An older Caucasian, heavy set woman checked me in(respectively speaking, I just wanthink to make sure she isnt mis- taken for anybody else)....I believe her initials are S.B. She seemed very standoffish and in an extreme hurry. Therefore, I made sure to speak very kindly to her, thanked her for servicing me and wished her to have a nice evening, but I received no response at all from her as she continued to not make eye contact with me. My son even asked me why I had such a soft voice tone when speaking to her....I responded because it seems like she had a negative attitude and I wanted to show kindness no matter how she had presented herself to me.

In regards to the room number 014, I believe it had mildew on the wall panel near the tub, the King bed room was very very small. I never stayed in such a small motel/hotel in my life. The room smelled a little clean, but had a faint musty smell in it. The restroom didn't have a countertop, just a sink itself. The AC unit worked good, cable television was available which was good. There is a first come first serve in regards to covered parking and parking is free which is good. The plug outlet near the lamp was rigged obviously, but I wasn't surprise for a place like this. It was my husband's decision to stay here because he believed it looked cozy, but it didn't feel cozy to me. I paid $100 for 1 night for an unpar room. Grant it.....the room could have been a whole lot worse.

However, I drove to the front desk to get more towels and blankets because they do not have a phone in the room. The woman S.B. that I have mentioned earlier who checked me in was there to assist me, but seemed agitated to see me return. However, I still remained respectful and kind despite her making small talk with other guests and almost friendly to them. I believed that I have encountered an act of racism for the very first time in my life. However, I asked for more towels and two blankets, but one of the blankets she brought had a hair strand on it. I immediately and kindly asked to speak with the manager on duty. I waited, of course, until she finished checking in two other guests and finally she calls the manager to speak with me. I didn't get his name because they do not wear name tags nor introduce themselves to you. No big deal, though. The manager seemed nice and assisted me after I told him that I wanted him to assist me further with the issue of the strand hair because the front desk representative S.B. seemed too busy to produce good customer service to me and her face seemed agitated with me asking for things I can ask for with no problems at other hotels. The manager didn't apologize on her behalf at all. But, he did make sure that I received three blankets instead of two, in the event I had another problem with one of the blankets and that was thoughtful of him. However, the blanket with the hair on it was yanked from the blanket by him and kept in the clear bag that they distribute to guest. Hopefully, they wash it again...I am not sure what they will do with it.

Overall, the front desk representative made my stay upon arrival unpleasant and I couldn't wait to leave the next morning. The hotel room was not up to my standards and from now on.....I will continue to stay at 4 or 5 star hotels only. You get what you pay for here. This is a low class motel/hotel whatever it is. I am from Houston, Texas...a bigger city than Fredericksburg and I am used to diversity, upscale places. I wanted to explore Fredericksburg, Tx. because it seemed so charming and old timey. But, if you ask if I would recommend this hotel....I would say absolutely noooooo, no matter how cheap the rates are. Avoid it and spend your hard earned top dollars for a higher rated establishment where they make you feel welcomed and special no matter if they have two guests waiting or six guests waiting.

I will pray for S.B......I would love to say that she just wasn't having a good day, but my intuition is telling me she suffers from...

All in all our stay was ok but ft fixedell a bit short of expectations. First on the positive side, it was on the cheaper end, it was a 5-minute walk to Main St, the room was clean, they had a hot tub, the staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was convenient. On the negative side, the hot tub is right next to the sidewalk/highway (with no privacy) and is one you'd buy at a store, so it's small, the bars of soap are tiny and are pretty much useless as they don't lather hardly at all, they really need to upgrade their soap (the shampoo was fine but no conditioner, so my girls were a bit disappointed), the room was not serviced (although they said it would be, but all they did was take out the trash, they didn't touch the beds or do any cleaning of the floors). The key thing to note if you book here is that your unit will share a wall with another unit and you'll also share a very small water heater, so upwards of 12 people could share 1 small water heater. The day we arrived we got 1.5 hot showers out of it, the other 2 days we had cold showers. Our showers were even cold at 11pm and the neighbor told me they hadn't showered that night, so there's a serious hot water issue with unit 6 - we also had no hot water at 2pm and there wasn't anyone staying next door, so it couldn't have been because other people used it. The disappointing thing was that the staff said they fixed the hot water issue but it really wasn't fixed, so no one showered for the last 2 days yet the staff offered nothing in terms of compensation. It's also right on a very busy highway/street, so noise is a bit of an issue. Anyway, some good aspects but the low chance of gettin a warm shower will keep us from going back (even if your unit doesn't have problems like ours did, the fact that you'll be sharing a small water heater with another family makes it a high risk of not getting warm...
