I want to post the most accurate, fair review for others to decide for themselves if this motel is worth the money or the time. I'm not even through my stay yet, and I can't shake the desire to just pack up and go home. My husband and I are here on business, not leisure, and with this also being Labor Day weekend, it was difficult to find other accommodations at a reasonable price for the work we are doing here in Fredericksburg. The pictures speak for themselves. This room has not been properly cleaned in a very long time, nor has it had any proper maintenance to speak of. As this was really the only option here, I now know after staying just one night, we should have just made the drive back and forth to Kerrville instead to stay during this job. I really don't care what the room looks like or how old it is, as long as it is CLEAN. The front desk attendant was friendly enough, but poor man was super tired and worn out. Apparently, it was a long weekend dealing with customers on a busy holiday weekend. If you are in a bind and need a room for the night where you either can't find other accommodations, or you don't have the funds to go elsewhere, you shouldn't have to sacrifice cleanliness for price... but if you do have to stay, make sure to bring your cleaning supplies and scrub brushes... you're gonna need them.

I wanted to give zero stars but Google wouldn't let me. I now know why the room was so cheap. The carpet and tile are so dirty they turn your feet black and sticky ( thank God for sandles ). The coffee pot looked like it hasn't been cleaned since they bought it. The water nozzle in the shower has mold and rust in it. The room smells like a combination of a dead animal and rotting food, why I don't know but luckily I brought Lysol disinfectant spray. The desk turned my whole arm black with dirt and I don't know what when I touched it. The free breakfast is little Debbie cinnamon rolls, Danish, fruit that looks like it's past its sell date, cereal, and microwaveable pancakes. Best part there is little to none of it. Save your money and go somewhere else. First of all I am verified. Second I don't have to leave a room number or my name because I left the same message at your hotel. Lastly I was there for Oktoberfest that was held this weekend. So how about you just try cleaning something there. There's a picture of some of the nasty sticky dirt I had to clean off my feet after just a few steps on your nasty floors.

I have never wanted to leave a motel so bad. I’m usually excited to stay away from home in a room but not here. $200 a night for this place is mind boggling. The floors in the bed area actually looked nice but so dirty. We did not use the shower because the look of it made us nervous, luckily we showered before we came and will shower when we arrive home. We stayed Friday night to Sunday morning. I get this is a busy place but paying that for this room was a crime. The beds were so uncomfortable, I woke up early each day to avoid laying in them any long. It was quiet and even though the TV took so long to get somewhere it did have good options compared to other places I have stayed.

I want to be very gentle with this review, because I believe the property has room for growth. The check in process was relatively smooth. The woman was very informative and polite. We went to our room, and it has clearly had 'some' renovation. The flooring was a new style laminate of sorts. However, the trim around the toilet could definitely use a good cleaning. The bathroom and sink areas were still dated, but clean. The walls had some major dings and some pealing or scraped off paint. Not entirely uncommon for an inexpensive stay in a touristy area. There was shortage of outlets in the room - we both like to plug in our devices at the end of the day and there weren't really enough outlets for 2 of us. That's not an easy fix and likely wasn't an issue when the property was built. When we attempted to close the curtain, there was a small bug of sorts on the curtain. It wasn't a bug I'm familiar with but based on photos it wasn't a roach either (or rest assured, this review would go way different). We attempted to find/remove/kill it, but it was too quick. We never saw another - so it may have come from outside. We spent the afternoon and evening out on the town. Upon our return to the room, we noticed there was no top sheet (flat sheet) on the bed. Instead, there was a waffle weave type of coverlet (like the one you see folded at the bottom of a bed at a Marriot Property). I managed to sleep without the sheet but promptly went to the office in the morning to request a top sheet. We had to ring the bell, it was about 5 till 8am. The woman (very gracious again) said she would see to it; we had a top sheet later. We left and headed to town for Breakfast and some more shopping. We returned mid-morning, and our room had been tidied up and the bed made. We pulled the top down and realized there was still no top sheet. I once again, went to the office with a photo in hand and explained that the white coverlet on our bed was not a sheet and asked again if flat sheets were available. The (again, super kind) women went to the room behind the office (laundry maybe) and retrieved a top sheet. She asked if I wanted to take it to the housekeeper or remake it myself, she only had 24 in circulation - or something of that nature. I gave her 'a look' and she quickly decided she would remake the bed. Upon our arrival later that evening, the bed had been remade and we actually had a nice stock of pillows (2 the night before). We did use the pool, one of the evenings. It was clean. I'm not a fan of floating chlorine, but I get it. We kept pushing the floater aside. Regardless, the pool-time was enjoyable. We did not take part in the pastries for breakfast we opted for protein options in town - but that was our choice. Pastries are fine for most. Overall, the stay was fine. The hotel does need a little TLC, but for the price and location, you really cannot beat it. I will say - specifically to the folks at Choice Hotels - the property is not a 25,000 point/night stay. It's an 8-10K at best. We would stay again, for a quick night or 2. I wouldn't' recommend it for an extended...

My daughter and I stayed while visiting my parenta who live in Johnson City. We've had bad experiences with lodging with Days Inn and Comfort Inn in the past and swore off any lodging associated with those places. It was a last minute trip and money was a little tight so we lodged at the Econolodge becaise the price was right.....I wont lie, I was afraid we were going to be in a dirty room and have to deal with ugly staff but that was NOT the case and I was extremely surprised and shocked! The staff upon check in was wonderful and it was an extremely easy process as the paperwork and room cards were ready and waiting when we arrived. The room was large, beds were decently comfortable, the room was clean and didnt smell. The heat/AC worked very well, the fridge was clean and cold! Despite a few minor cosmetic flaws...paint bubbles and a tad bit of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom and the door was a bit hard to open and we had to really push to get it closed, those, are our only complaints! The towels and linens were clean and the beds were made very professionally. As we were loading for check out, the cleaning staff was out and about working on other rooms but were very nice when we would pass them to load. I had my dog with me and one of the cleaning ladies was so sweet to her as well. Upon check out, returning the key card and obtaining a receipt was just as quick as the check in was and the staff (I believe was the owner) was extremely nice as well!! Our experience was pleasant and the cosmetic flaws were overlooked. It was nice staying somewhere clean and safe! We may have sworn off other locations but, since my parents live in the area and it is a 6 hour drive for us, the friendly staff and promptness paired with a clean room as well as the promptness and hassle free checking in and out has convinced us that THIS location is going to be our #1 lodging location for future visits!!! Thank you for an easy in and out experience, and for having friendly and prompt staff and policies!!!! While I still will NOT stay at the places stated above, YOU HAVE WON US OVER!! We look forward to lodging with you again soon!!! Keep up the...

If you are traveling from out of town and would like to know that your room is going to be there when you get there do not choose this hotel. On a spur of the moment road trip my husband and I chose this hotel late one night traveling through Fredericksburg we booked the hotel at around 11:00 which I know is late so after our confirmation and with our credit card on the internet I called the hotel to inform them that we were still about an hour or more away and that our pet was accepted she told me yes and we continued on our trip she was very polite. However when we arrived my husband ( tall Hispanic man with tattoos)went in to get our room and was told by the manager that our room had already been sold and that our credit card had been denied and that they don't hold. We called our credit card company our card had just worked 15 minutes ago at a gas station and on the entire rest of our trip it had funds so we couldn't see why it had been denied. Now normally when something like this happens the manager is at least apologetic and normally the credit card company can give you a reason why it denied a charge but it was late and we could not see that the card had been even attempted or denied nor was the manager apologetic in any way shape or form. It was only after I spoke with a representative this morning that I chose to write this review I cannot for the life of me figure out why we were denied a hotel room by this establishment. When I spoke with the manager this morning he said that that was a very late booking and that the don't hold rooms. Since he booked someone in our confirmed room I assume he has no problem with late bookings and once again a card has to be at least attempted to be charged to be approved. Moral of this long story if you book here call and call again to ensure your rooms safety, and don't look like you are from...
