So, I gave them a 4 star because of the food is good. All the time. From breakfast to sandwiches either cold or hot... I work in Freehold for 3 years and we order sorrentos i wouldn't say every week but often enough we order.. Food is always delicious.. I once in a while pick the order and usually was in an out. Today, 9/18/2020 they missed a part of my order so i had to wait for it ... And I got to see a few things that was not so great. During this pandemic all restaurants and everywhere requires the use of mask. And this establishment being a sub place masks and gloves required. So while waiting for the reminder of my order I got to witness a worker that went outside came back in did not put on gloves and had his mask halfway covering only his mouth. One other worker had on gloves was making a sandwich, finished it, with the same glove took the tv remote changed channel we back behind the counter cleaned something, the phone ring he answered wrote down the order, made the sandwich, the went back to write something the pen felt on the other of the counter he came around picked up the pen from the floor and finished writing. The he was just standing behind the counter. ALL that with the same gloves... Then my order was done and I didn't see anything else. My order was a hot sub.. So hopefully this person was not the one making. I like Sorrento's subs... But what I saw today was very disappointing especially with this pandemic going on. Hope this post will help them to be more on top of...
Read moreSorrento's USED to be so good with the old owners. Spent $32 on 2 half subs today with chips & 2 sodas while in Freehold for my co-workers and myself. Drove all the way to Long Branch to realize the tuna sub was dry (no oil/vinegar), all fixings on side (only asked for onions on the side) and Italian sub was dry also (oil & vinegar on the side only) - all completely wrong! I specifically asked the woman on the phone to read back my order, then I repeated the correct order again to be clear. But nooooo! After all that order was completely incorrect. I then called Sorrento's to get a refund and Mario's son told me the only way as per the POLICY I could get my money back was to bring these dry sandwiches back. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Policy is not listed/shown anywhere. I was not near to Freehold and how embarrassing it was as I was treating to lunch for my co-workers and the order was wrong. I find it completely unacceptable they were unwilling to reverse the transaction without seeing the sandwich (should we have face timed??) and having grown up in Freehold Boro for 20 years where Sorrento's subs is a staple that the customer service is so poor and unreasonable. Long gone is Sorrento's of...
Read moreI remember going to this place 3 to 4 times a week many years ago when I worked for pathmark pharmacy in freehold. Always loved these guys and never had a problem. I moved out of the area and havent tried them for over 12 years. Went there yesterday with high hopes and it was a Huge disappointment. Ordered a burger that was clearly frozen and not fresh and was served on a very hard roll that tasted like it was from the day before or from that same day but was left out and uncovered for hours. Ordered steak fries and got regular fries.... after spending about $12 on a burger, 20 ounce soda and fries, it makes me sick to my stomach to get such an awful experience. I've been a cook for Italian restaurants the last 8 years now and only buy food out on my days off. I can genuinely say that this was the absolute worst lunch I bought this year. Threw half of it out and will never be back again. Place is no where close to how it used to be. I remember having that same burger with a fresh soft roll and the flavors were outstanding. There used to be a passion for the food they made. Best word to come up with my experience is:...
