We’ve been to this place many times — even after moving away from the area, we always find ourselves coming back whenever we get the chance. The freshness and flavor of the Peruvian food is something Don Pepe has always taken seriously. Every dish is full of authentic taste, made with care, and you can tell the ingredients are top quality. What truly stands out is the mix and fusion of traditional flavors — it’s a unique culinary experience that keeps us coming back. There’s a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste and preference, and whether we come as a family or with friends, everyone always leaves happy and satisfied. The service is consistently excellent — the staff is attentive, friendly, and always willing to offer recommendations or explain the menu. You feel genuinely welcomed every time you walk in, and the hospitality adds so much to the overall experience. It’s a well-located spot in Freehold. While parking can be a bit tight on weekends, trust me — it’s absolutely worth it in every way. If you’re a true lover of Peruvian cuisine, this hidden gem is a must-visit. Once you try it, you’ll definitely want to come back!

I asked for a sopa a la criolla and I got a soup without papas celery, that looked sopa a la minuta, with milk and egg.. not at all what I asked for.. I did not even liked what it smelled like so I told them to take it back.. but I still got charged for it.. and the lady from the front desk came and told me that was the soup I ordered.. I don't think so, I hate eggs The sopa criolla doesn't say it has eggs.. what if you have allergies and you order the soup you still have to pay for it even if you return it.. yes, it happened to me. And on top of that they tip themselves on the grand total of the bill which the tax and tip have been already added to the grand total.. I don't know if they only did it to me but if they do that to everyone else they are crooks.. either way they did it to me and there's the proof..

Ten years ago I worked in Stamford CT and there was this little Peruvian place in town and it was superb. I left that year and ever since then I've been trying to find good Peruvian food and nothing has even come close to that place. That is ... Until a couple months ago when I stopped into Don Pepe's to give it a shot. Whoa. Not only was the food BETTER than my previous favorite, the place was clean and the service was great. I've been back more times than I can count and it's great every time. The ingredients are fresh and it's my new go-to favorite for Peruvian. Not sure what to get? Try the Lomo Saltaldo. Youll be glad you did.

Have ordered there numerous times for pick up. We like the food, but several times they pack the wrong order and we find out when we are home ready to eat. I have let that slide many times. Today the same thing happened with a 25$ meal. What’s more frustrating was that the meal they sent was horrible and also I requested she repeat my order to avoid any errors. I called to report the wrong meal as I have had enough of having to pay for meals I did not order. They said they would call me back, never did.

Update: After no call back, once my guests left about 5 hours later, I called again. Their response was they were too busy. Then they followed with, I should have driven back, wasted more energy, time and gas, leave my guests again to return the wrong meal. In addition she said they would not refund me but give me a chicken dish to compensate for the seafood dish they failed to send. What?!!! This is clearly terrible customer service. I requested to speak to the owner or someone in charge but they were not available. Finally, she agreed to refund me back the meal. Waiting to see if they actually will.

To me it’s not the money, it’s the principle. Lack of consideration and respect for...

Don Pepe Restaurant is an exceptional dining experience that you don't want to miss out on. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is friendly and attentive. But what sets Don Pepe apart from other restaurants is their incredible Lomo Saltado.

The Lomo Saltado at Don Pepe is an absolute must-try. The dish is expertly prepared with tender strips of beef, sautéed onions, juicy tomatoes, and seasoned with just the right amount of spices. The flavors are perfectly balanced, and the dish is served hot, straight from the kitchen, which makes it all the more delicious.

The presentation of the Lomo Saltado is also top-notch, served on a sizzling hot plate that adds an extra layer of excitement to the dish. The portion size is generous, and the quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite.

Overall, Don Pepe's Lomo Saltado is a real standout, and I highly recommend giving it a try. The restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience that's perfect for any occasion, and the Lomo Saltado is an absolute must-try for anyone who loves flavorful,...
