Garden Deli, where do I even start? The first time I ever walked in I was a Garden Deli denier. "This is the best sandwich you'll ever have, way better than insert other sub/sandwich place". I honestly didn't believe them, but i enjoyed my first experience and that was enough to come a second time. I was with my friends who are regulars as well as one who was a first timer, and of course this was my second time. As you go down the line you meet all of the pleasant characters that work here, all of them kind as can be. The first guy who takes your order knows my friends orders by heart, and then he turns to me. "What can I get you, young man?" He asks. "I'll take a #14, white bread warmed up." I say. (You have to get it warmed up it's so good) "Sounds great, what about you, young man?" He says to my friends who then orders. I then go down the line. The nice lady asks me, "Any veggies?" "I'll do yellow mustard, pickles, and black olives please." I say. "Anything on the side?" She asks. "No thank you." I say. "Have a great day!" She says. I then go down the line to the next nice lady. "Any soup for you today?" "Small potato bacon please." I say. She then got my soup and told me to have a great day, then it takes me to the kind young man at the register. "Okay, large sandwich, small soup. types up into register Anything to drink?" "I'll have a large mellow yellow please." I say. He fills up my mellow yellow and brings it to me. "Okay your total will be $13.23." $13.23?! For a sandwich AND soup AND a drink??! 1 sub at any other sub place costs more than that! Amazing! I then sat down with my friends, took a bite of the soup, amazing. I also forgot to mention the young man had given me crackers for my soup which complimented the soup well. I then went to my sandwich. I took one bite. Life-changing. I really mean that, no glaze at all it was life-changing. It's not unreasonable to say that. The bread it so soft and so light, so luscious and delicious. The meat/cheese/veggie combo really made me realize that I have never been closer to heaven on earth than right then in Garden Deli. If you've never had this, and you are thinking about something to eat, you have to come here. I promise it will change your life like it did mine and my friends. You will not regret eating here, but just be warned, no sub place will ever be the same after you eat here, but honestly who cares about anywhere else at this point? Garden Deli is my new favorite place in this world. Enjoy the food and the people, this is a grand...
Read moreThe Garden Deli is a locally and independently owned sandwich shop in Freeport in the old DMV. They have a few different types of bread. The bread was fresh and soft. They slice the meet as you order. Ingredients appeared to be fresh and the sandwich was good sized in relation to the cost. They do microwave their sandwiches so that might turn off a few people. They make them fast and the owners were very nice. There is plenty of seating and the temperature inside was good. I would go back as there aren’t many dining options in this price range that isn’t fast...
Read moreI always get a number 17. That should tell you I'm a pretty typical regular in the deli. The sandwiches are great with good portions. They have a decent variety of ice cream to choose from. The workers are polite especially the younger ones. Unlike the other reviews, I always see them with gloves on while making my food. I'd take your free meal, Jessica Smith! Any day! Freeport needs their local businesses supported -...
