Fiesta En Cancun Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Freeport

We decided to try out Fiesta en Cancun Saturday during lunch. We were pleasantly surprised they offered a lunch menu on the weekend!

Our table got the lunch fajitas, the lunch Shrimp Taco Plate, a ala carte Chile Poblano Relleno, and a single Chorizo Taco.

The overall consensus at the table was the food was lacking some spice. The fajitas and Chile Poblano Relleno were good, but the tacos were kinda blah. The shrimp could have been spiced a bit more (we had to use the hot sauce at the table to add some flavour). The chorizo seemed a bit old, to be honest. It was extremely dry and kinda just tasted like flavoured ground beef. Ive had many good chorizo tacos from authentic food trucks and restaurants and this one missed the mark, unfortunately.

I did see Lengua Tacos on the menu, and I may have to come back to give them a try. I don't see those on menus in the Midwest much and it's my favorite taco variety!

All in all the service was absolutely amazing which is why I gave them 4 stars, but the food was a bit bland.

Fiesta Cancun, Freeport Illinois. I usually go out of my way to write a good report for places I visit, But not today. After reading the other reviews I see I'm not alone. On 9/30/19 somewhere around 1:30, my wife and I sat at the bar and ordered two vegetarian dinners to go. Different numbers, and explained what we wanted when ordering. When we got home we had two identical dinners, but No vegetables, No guacamole salad, No rice, and No tortillas. (the vegetarian dishes we did receive were poorly done). My wife was sorely disappointed and said "never again". We frequent the Fiesta Cancun in Dubuque and have always been happy with our dinners, so this is not our first rodeo. Vegetarians beware, , , the potato tortilla was filled with mashed potatoes (tasteless), The spinach tortilla was steamed (canned tasteless spinach), and the third item was filled with a glop of tasteless reified beans. We tipped our service person generously before we knew what awaited us at home, so the $40 dollar evening was a lesson learned and will not be repeated at...

I usually pretty particular about my food and service I understand we all have different tastes but today experience so far was the worse I ordered shrimp and was dry way over cooked. I had have ok food from there they have some good stuff but service lately is been bad I always give places second or third chances but today listening to service team yelling about tables and complaining about customers made my experience very unpleasant and don't forget food was horrible. maybe just maybe the energy of staff or food quality can lead to unpleasant customers and complaints. I had to mention i didn't ate the food I asked for my bill which it was not much I was willing to pay for something I ordered I come to the cashier she asked how was food which I pointed it was not great and I didn't get charged she was unprofessional and just told me I didn't had to paid. the whole experience was bad. probably never tried that...
