First, lemme say I'm from Maine, so having lobster is more of a tradition than a treat when one comes back to the homeland. After doing a little shopping, decided to get some lunch and didn't really know what to expect from this pub. Ordered the 2 lobster dinner with fries, coleslaw, a cup of clam chowder, and a couple beers for my sister and me.

The lobsters were supremely fresh and meaty. In a word, they were "delicious." The clam chowder was full of clams and potatoes, and the base was fabulous. The fries were hot and good. The coleslaw seemed fresh and was good, but not great. If there was any complaint (such as the word is), it would be the drawn butter was not salty enough. The beer was cold and complimented the meal quite well. And the price? It's definitely worth the stop in to this pub.

So, the next time you're in Freeport and looking for good lobster in a simple (but dignified) place to eat, look no further than the 'Lobster...

I really wanted to love this place but it was just OK. We sat upstairs (the upper deck). Several things weren't quite right. We had to get our own silverware from the bar because the waitperson didn't bring any to our table. Not a big deal in and of itself, but it added to the other issues. My husband ordered a haddock sandwich but it came as a platter instead, and the bloody Mary mix they use tasted awful to me. I admit most places I go make their own and mixes usually don't measure up. Also, my lobster roll was 90% claws with big rubbery tips. I've had lots of lobster rolls in my life (I'd say at least 100) and they usually have a couple of claws, but not this many with big rubbery tips. The cole slaw was ok. Nothing special. The fries were pretty good, though. I wouldn't go back or recommend. Maybe we hit it on an off day, but this wasn't very...

My husband & I love the Lobster Cooker & Pub and frequently go there when in Freeport. Recently we brought out of town guests & they loved it too. We had a special of fried oysters, fries & drinks after indulging in the fresh shucked at the Oyster Festival. Fabulous!! Oysters were crunchy on the outside & creamy in the middle. Fries were also perfectly crunchy with a soft inside.

I love eating here because they offer gluten free fried clams! We have never had a meal dissapoint. I enjoy the atmosphere as downstairs has the charm & feel of a coastal lobster shack. Upstairs is decorated like a sports pub. All tastefully done & cozy. Staff has always been friendly & attentive. A fav...

We went here on our last night in Maine. The restaurant is in a great location, next to lots of shopping and an easy, walkable area. There is an outdoor eating area, but it was kind of cool outside, so we ate indoors. Downstairs is set up to order at the counter and then find a table. Upstairs is full service, so we ate up there. The service and food was great. We started with delicious fried pickles. I had the clam chowder which was very good. My husband had the haddock sandwich which he enjoyed. There was a good selection of beer too. This place is very casual, with take-out type of dishes and utensils. The prices were reasonable for the area.

What a great surprise right on Main St. in Freeport. Not to say that lobster, clams and fries should be a surprise at a place called the “The Lobster Cooker,” but all of their fried food was GLUTEN FREE - not to mention delicious! I haven’t had fried clams in a decade- I devoured them. My dad got a crabmeat salad that was huge - and he dove in before I got the photo! Mom said the lobster bisque was delicious too. Be prepared for high prices- but worth it. Spotless dining areas inside and out, plus a fun bar area upstairs. If you’re not a shopper - find this gem and hang out. If you are a shopper, treat yourself to great Maine fare for lunch!

I walked in a felt like a hole in while joint Alaska. Beautiful paintings on the walls, the home feel and Beautiful families enjoying great food. The hype is real folks. Today I ordered the crab roll... Unbelievable taste, words can't describe the freshness and sweetness of the crab. Props to the ladies upfront, really cool. I am from the South. We pay 100 bucks to hope it taste half this good. My food blogger friend did and review on this spot, he was right you just gotta come try it for yourself. Even the coleslaw is best i have had..
