Check out this McDonald’s in Freeport, Maine! 🍟🍔 #mcdonalds #maine #mainelife #cheeseburger #freeportmaine

Only in Maine will you find a McDonald’s restaurant hidden in a colonial style house, serving a McLobster Roll. This McDonald's in Freeport, Maine, is famous for its unique setting in a historic colonial-style building. Located on Main Street, this McD’s was required to conform to the town's strict architectural standards to preserve its New England charm. The restaurant blends seamlessly with Freeport's quaint atmosphere, featuring clapboard siding and a classic facade. Inside, it functions as a typical McDonald’s, offering the standard menu, but the exterior is a rare sight for the fast-food chain. Word has it they no longer serve the McLobster here, but hopefully (depending upon who you ask) they bring it back next summer.

Most unusual McDonald's I have ever been to. It's a historic house that was bought and turned into this restaurant 35 years ago. What a way to preserve the town but be modern. Not your usual dining room either... seperate rooms in the house with house like wooden dining room table and chairs. Staff is eager to tell you all about the Gore house and even has a large postcard size explanation with picture they give you. First McDonald's I ever been to that serves Lobster rolls. Would have driven right past this one with the beautiful landscaping around the house and the small logo sign if I hadn't Googled it.

TL:DR: this Mcdonalds is like an amazing soup with a large portion of ingredients coming from the prievious 2 installments with a dose of Portal 2 and a hint of Bioshock for extra good measure to make the VR experience something unseen to this point. I can't recommend this game enough for anyone the next big thing.

After completing this game for a second time I can honestly recommend this game from the bottom of my heart. Visually on it's own this game is a sight to behold but put it in VR and the world becomes so much more alive. Gamevisitwhile teleport jumping is an odd choice as well as the lack of melee weapons and sometimes slow locomotion the game makes up for it by having new enemies around every corner that make fights tense and panic inducing especially without something like a trusty crowbar to help you on your journey. On that note I can't describe how enjoyable it is being able to interact with about 95% of the objects in the game and while you can sometimes feel that 5% the majority makes up for it tenfold. Achievments and Resin make alternate playthroughs enaging by changing up what upgrades you have at what time as well as creating unique challenges which reminds me a lot of Bioshock especially when combined with the insane horror-esque areas in the game. As for the story well I best keep that hidden for new players but all i'll say is that the humor from portal 2 returns in a more fitting manor as well as story moments which will make your jaw drop or send chills down your spine as soon as the game starts up. As for my more deeper thoughts seeing city 17 in a new perspective is quite honestly amazing as well as the vorts and righter sunny segments. Jeff is an amazing example of expanding an idea in interesting ways that I haven't seen in a long time. Going up to the vault and seeing it become destroyed in front of you is intense but not as intense as the Gman and the ending giving me pure joy every time I visitit. while VR is a bit expensive right not with a VR ready pc and headset going from $500-$2000 it may seem like a lot but VR is home to hundreds of cool games with 20-30 equaling this game in length and sometimes surpassing it in experience (for half the price no less) this Mcdonalds is a sight to behold and can only be visited...

I ordered online and made a detour to pick up my breakfast and was greeted with an automated welcome message asking for my online order number and a fully functioning menu board.

Fast forward 10+ minutes, after being yelled and honked at by other customers waiting for me to move forward, I drove up to the pickup window and found out the location was closed.

So, when your location is closed, turn off online ordering, post signs that you're closed and turn off your order speaker and menu board. Had any one of those things been done by management, I wouldn't be here writing a negative review.

This situation reminds me of another negative experience I had at this location where after parking and getting the kids out of the car, the dining room was closed during the middle of the day. Again, a sign would have helped.

I grew up stopping by this location on every family road trip through Freeport, enamored by the atmosphere of the historical building and feeling like you were eating in an old mansion. It's truly unfortunate the current franchise owners aren't particularly good at operating a McDonald's. That is pretty hard to do with one of the most turnkey franchises and some of the best corporate support and guidance available in the industry.

I suggest bringing in the suits for a week or two and get your operation up to the standards people expect from such a strong brand. With only a few small improvements, you can capitalize on the storied location and affluent consumer base that...

This is the worst McDonald's franchise I have ever experienced. There is no predicting which method of service will be most effective. My first visit I tried in-store service and was told it was drive-thru only the process took around 45 minutes to complete. My next visit I want to drive through where there was no activity and I waited and waited with no response and finally a customer came from the store and told me that it was app only service. The app service took more than 30 minutes to complete. Yesterday I visited, I use the app and sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes, the drive-thru is backed up, I watch customers walk in and out with food. I went in the store and asked the status of my order and they said almost ready. As I waited employees laughed as they say, look another one's getting out of the drive-thru line. This is not what McDonald's is supposed to be. I've gotten so I only visit this store once or twice a year but they are consistently terrible. With a random sampling of once or twice a year you would think the experience would vary a little bit. But it does not...
