I ordered a frozen margarita and it tasted like ice water with very little flavor! After tasting it I asked the waitress to bring me one on the rocks and I sent the frozen one back. The margarita on the rocks was fine. After we were done with our meal I noticed that they charged me for two margaritas. I asked the waitress about it and she said we charged you for 2 because you ordered 2. I said I may have ordered two but I sent one back because it wasnât any good. She said itâs not our problem that you didnât like it I make it the same way all the time. I said I donât care if you make it the same way every time I didnât like it and I sent it back, iâm not gonna pay for something that I didnât like that I sent back. She continued to argue with me about the situation and I said please donât argue with me I am the customer. At that point the manager of the restaurant came out grabbed my ticket and said leave Iâll take care of it. My final thought is Iâve never been treated so rudely by any waitress or any person in management in a restaurant!!! And second Iâve never been charged for anything in my 60 years of eating out that I sent back because it wasnât good. Needless to say Iâll never return to that restaurant or ever recommend it to anybody that asks me about...
Read moreGot free food for teachers as a Christmas gift, which is very much appreciated! In years past we simply let them expire or gave them away. This year we still didn't really know what either item we had to choose from was, but the 2 of us each ordered one type. LA would've been content with a couple normal tacos. The free chips/salsa was nice. Not a huge fan of the salsa, but the chips were not super salty, which is good. Planned to order chicken, but that wasn't offered as a choice. Not going to look a gift horse in the mouth so didn't say anything. Beef would have to be fine. Food came. Big plates! Really liked the flavor of the rice. Kinda tasted like Lipton soup. Ate about half of the order. The décor is cute. Wished that fireplace was warmer. When we were done, the waitress really didn't give any instructions as to if we had to still check out or not. Left a tip on the table then went ahead & left, attempting to wave just in case we needed to stop. The rest of the day we both noticed the food had left an odd, oniony taste in our mouths. Maybe from the meat seasoning? Found out later that if you serve the leftovers up at home with some Pace Picante sauce, it's actually much much tastier without that funky oniony aftertaste. Maybe next time we'll bring a...
Read moreThis place is a completely pathetic excuse for Mexican/Tex-Mex food. Service was average, but my god, we can't get over how absolutely horrible the food was. Easily the worst "Mexican" food we've ever had. Paying the bill was painful.
The enchilada sauce tasted rancid. The salsa for the chips is SWEET, somehow. My husband ordered the enchiladas and I ordered the tamales. We weren't expecting anything authentic, but goodness, this was bad.
My tamales were literally just boiled, un-seasoned pork inside some crumbly dough. When I say they weren't seasoned, I mean ZERO seasoning -- not even salt!
We are from the south. So we've had some spectacular Mexican food before. That being said, I fully understand we're in Nebraska -- folks here aren't used to a lot of spice and we weren't expecting anything authentic. Our expectations were pretty low -- but Gringo's somehow succeeded in going WAY below...
