Visited Panera on West Shaw yesterday afternoon with my mother, after a day of shopping. We utilized the drive-through and the comedy of errors began. We had a simple order of two flatbread sandwiches, two bag of chips, and two smoothies... EASY! Not quite. After leaving receiving what we thought to be our order, we drove off, only to realize blocks away that we were given the wrong order. We received 2 smoothies, a tube of children's yogurt and mashed potatoes. WRONG!!! Immediately, we turned around and got back in the drive through line to correct matters. There was no one in line so we were able to pull right to the front window... Where we waited several minutes, without notice. Finally, the same employee as before came to attention. He knew right away we had the right order and said he would fix it. We gave him the "wrong" order we received and then the wait began... several more minutes passed before he came back to the window and offered us to keep the "wrong" order as it would just go to waste. We accepted. However, confusion set in, as we opened the bag to now see it was once again an entirely different order. This one now had a small bowl of chicken soup, and a piece of bread. As laughter set in, we just shook our heads wondering where the yogurt and mashed potatoes had gone! All we could think, was that the guy was one off on everyone's orders somehow. Oh, well-- hopefully our "CORRECT" order would be handed over soon. Several more minutes passed and we finally got it. By now, nearly 10 minutes had passed since our 2nd visit began. And... well-- again, the order was wrong. A minor fault, but now we were still missing one of the bag of chips! But, the employee had disappeared. So, again... we waited for his return... Upon which, we let him know of the next chapter of the mistake. Without hesitation, he handed over the remaining bag of chips... Overall, it was a headache full of laughs, amid the frustrations of a very hot day and the common sense that such antics should not be occurring. The food as usual was fine.... But the ordering process and obstacle of simply receiving what was ordered was a different story! I would like to think the guy working was just having a hard day. Most likely he was... But, by the end of everything, I sure was hoping this wasn't a regular occurrence of his. Not everyone is as patient as we were. At least we were able to laugh...
Read moreHad been craving French Onion Soup so I went on the app only to find that yes it is one dollar delivery BUT they tack on at least $3 more in fees... so I went in person after a long day and saving my appetite . I went with my son and he ordered a sandwich and I ordered the FOS in an bread bowl... when we got home, and we do not live close, I found that my son's food was in the bag, a small bowl of what was the "onion" soup but no bowl. I had to go all the way back and spoke with a team lead who was very nice but the girl who took my order just stood by. I was not happy, I was hungry and upset... he offered me a pastry but I was not interested. He did give me another paper bowl with the onion soup and this time it actually had cheese... HOWEVER, French Onion soup it was not. When I got home and opened it, the soup looked like a bowl of diarrhea withsome melted cheese on top. I did taste it and it was extremely salty. The young man offered me a discount on my next visit but it is doubtful there will be a next visit. ONE MORE THING: food is more expensive on the app. The soup on the app was $10 and change. By the time they add all the extra charges, it was a little over $16. If you go to the restaurant, the bread bowl with the onion soup was $8.99 I believe... false claims of $1 on the app and it costs you more to use the app. ...
Read moreThe cashier was not very good. Got our order wrong and when I went to go tell her she said she read the order back to me, which she did not. She didn't seem to care and was very smug while I was clearly upset... I understand that it was not her fault that I was hangrey because it was almost 4pm and I had not eaten all day, however a little apology goes a long way when she clearly was not listening to what I ordered. She put our order to go without asking which made me believe she didn't want us eating in the store. Rude, I personally would not go back. Oddly enough, the only order that she did get right was my friends who is Mexican and I'm not, I would hate to find out that would be a determining factor in the way she attends to customers. However, as we were leaving the manager Katherine (may have gotten her name wrong) came out to apologize and was very sweet. Had the other manager that we 1st complained to, treated us like Katherine I probably would have been a repeat customer. There are too many Panera's for me to go to that has...
