Huong Lan — Restaurant in Fresno

Did you know that every member of your party getting their order around the same time is considered an "accomodation?"

We were a party of 2. I got my order, and 20 minutes passed and my daughter still didn't have her order. I went to inquire about her food. The cashier/waiter made the excuse that they were busy and it was coming out shortly. ...there were 3 other parties in the restaurant (4 people each) and were already eating before we got there. It was not busy. Even takeout or pickup was just a trickle. I frequent the other Huong Lan locations on Fresno and Kings Canyon for years and ordered the same items regularly and we've NEVER had an issue of getting our food at around the same time --even when they are at their busiest.

Before even making this post, I spoke with the cashier/waiter upon paying and politely and respectfully gave feedback that would help improve their service and better their customers experience which was: they should serve ALL members in a party at about the SAME or REASONABLE time so they are eating together rather than 1 eating while the other waits (we might as well have sat at different tables and been a party of 1) He gave the same response and suggested we let them know next time so they an accommodate us. I said we are not asking for an accommodation, it's good practice in business overall. IF on the off chance they unintentionally forgot her order, just be upfront and honest. Mistakes do happen. I called in an order and accidentally went to the wrong location. When I got the correct location a few miles away, my sandwiches were on the counter but my fried rice wasn't ready. I asked if the sandwiches were mine and since I already paid and tipped for my order. I wanted to eat my sandwiches while I waited and take them out to the car for my hungry family. They told me they were not ready. After just under one hour wait that was supposed to be 20 minutes, he hands me those same sandwiches that have been sitting there for over 40 minutes. I took my order to the car where my family was waiting hungry and I opened my sandwich to find it's cold and soggy on the inside with a VERY SMALL portion of meat and dry hard bread. The other location used way more meat and it was decent. This was so bad I had to ask for a refund on my order. I was really hungry and I didn't take a bite of that mess. Horrible service. I went with my family to this restaurant. Upon walking in a girl between the front counter and seating area would not move and asked us to get our own menus from the counter. We seated ourselves. There were 3 dirty tables present. After a while someone did clean them but along with our condiments on the table, nothing was wiped down. There were food splash marks over everything. My husband was not blown away with his pho dinner, didn’t even finish the broth. He also tried and didn’t like or finish the shrimp/beef spring rolls. My daughter ordered chicken fried rice. The rice looked like pilaf with a little bit of egg in it and the chicken appeared plain. I didn’t eat because for once an Asian restaurant didn’t have any vegan options.
