Saturday, 6/10/2023 - Took my mom to SabaiDee for her birthday. Was craving some Lao food. Address is 5730 N First St, Ste 103, Fresno, CA 93710. Upon arrival...

Pros

  1. plenty of parking
  2. tiny little restaurant with a few tables and chairs. Probably about 250sq feet in the dining area by the entrance door.
  3. we got seated right away when we arrived.
  4. staffs were very nice. We were still looking at the menu when they arrived to take our orders. They were very patient with us.
  5. we ordered Namtok, tum yum soup, Lao sausage, sticky rice, chicken drunken noodle, & Khao Soy. All were okay. Namtok, Tum yum soup, sticky rice, the noodle and veggies in the drunken noodle, the sauce that came with the Lao sausage was good.
  6. our table, chairs, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils were clean.
  7. they provided us plenty of napkins. Thank you for that!
  8. server packed our tum yum soup for us.
  9. server provided to-go boxes for us and even provided a small container of the sauce for our left over Lao sausage. So sweet
  10. it didn't take long for us to get our foods once we ordered.

Cons

  1. Drunken noodle was good, but when I ate the chicken by itself, it kinda had a slight over due taste. You know when it's starting to get that smell, but not quite over due yet? Yeah, like that. Lao sausage was good. But maybe it's just us. But it kinda tasted a little off. Not sure how to explain it. Kha Soy was just okay. Needed a little more flavor. But I guess I'm used to my friend's home cooking Khao Soy which is much more flavorful. Nothing beats home cooking.
  2. the hot water had a slight chlorine smell and taste for some reason.
  3. we needed water refill. They didn't come back and check to see if we may need anything else. We had to keep an eye for the 2 servers to catch them to ask them for missing things. Such as extra cups of ice waters or refills.
  4. there is a 3% surcharge if you use a card to pay.

Conclusion I like this little restaurant. They were very nice and professional. Foods were okay. They helped packed the soup and provided a bag for us to use to pack the the rest of the extra foods. They also provided some extra sauce for our left over Lao sausages. Some places they don't give you a bag to pack your extra foods in the to-go boxes or you'd have to ask several times. It was...

I had entered into an empty restaurant, so I can understand why I was serviced right away and with ease. However, once I tried to leave, I waved my hand at one of the guys who worked there, since he saw me out of the rest, and I was amazed that he completely ignored me by simply looking away as if he hadn’t seen me wave at all. I continued to sit and wait there, as everyone of the workers seemed very preoccupied with some orders in the back (there were about three plus more workers coming gathered in a bunch) and not one to come and show hospitality in the dining room. The same guy I waved at, the one who ignored me, continued to ignore me; he didn’t bother to at least let me know he’d be right with me or anything at all. He would right away notice and attend every other customer coming in the restaurant, which was like five new customers, and got their orders, but the whole time I waited and not a single time did he bother to even just ask if I needed anything, and he and others just acted like I wasn’t even there though I was not far from their point of view. After waiting there for probably about another 20min just to get a to go bag and pay, finally someone bothered to come to my table and help me. The crazy part is, it’s been years since I go to restaurants, and the one time I actually do, my experience is not even minimally satisfactory. To top it off, the food wasn’t that good either. It tasted very bland. Sad to say, it won’t be a place I can see myself going to again. The price of this meal was $27, but the experience felt more like it should have cost no more than $13 instead. Oh well, I suppose you...

Took a little pit stop on our way to Sacramento and stumbled upon this place.

Our server was a very nice, informative and a quirky gentleman. He was a wonderful personality but after we received our food he didn’t come back for a while, even when we were ready to pay we had to wave down another employee to get him to come back.

The food: The Pad Thai was solid. I ordered a 9 (spice levels go from 1-10) and someone delivered my food and said it was a 10… I took it anyways and it still wasn’t as spicy as I hoped for. We also ordered an appetizer but one person got their entree before we got the appetizer. All our food came out at different times. Everyone enjoyed their food but we all have had better back home in Florida. T’was my first time having a beer I believe from Thailand and we both enjoyed it!

Bathroom: Poor architectural design. I thought it was odd I walked through the server station as they were working / bagging to-go food to get to the bathroom. Single Bathroom didn’t look like it was kept up periodically throughout the shift.

Overall, cool place (seating area), nice staff with good chemistry. Food 4 out of 5 depending on...

This place was so busy. All if the tables were full and there was a very large amount of people waiting for takeout. We were not impressed with the Pad Thai. It was oily and the flavor was lack luster. The Pineapple rice bowl was fun, I mean, what a better type of way to present Thai rice than in half of a pineapple. Unfortunately, we just felt like there were too many flavors that just didn't work well together in the actual rice. Broccoli beef was fabulous though. Meat was thinly sliced and the veggies were all fresh and cooked to Al dente. The sauce was not overpowering either. Wait staff was nice and very apologetic about the wait time to get our order and to then get the food out to us. They were obviously very frazzled though. I want to come back here though. I think we just didn't order the right things. We saw so many other fabulous entrees that I can imagine were very yummy.

The food and the servers were very authentic. So authentic that the spice level was a little beyond my threshold for heat! The Chicken Panang Curry was phenomenal and I also had the papaya salad which they rank on a heat level from 1 to 10. If you like mild to medium heat, only order at a number ONE! I made the mistake of ordering 2-3 and unfortunately had to have it sent back and remade because it was just too spicy for this gringa. 🔥 😂 I was happy that they honored my request. The Thai decor was lovely, food portions were nice sized, prices we're very reasonable and we had leftovers to take home. Would definitely return for their very tasty panang!
