as a native cajun new orleanian, im going to go into this review saying i am used to a very different, genuine cajun crawfish experience & this was NOT it. walking in & seeing people using bibs & gloves & the crawfish being served in plastic bags instead of trays was a bit off putting but i recognize part of that is probably bc of the easier clean up afterwards for everyone involved. the staff was friendly, buy they didnt check on uss too much. still friendly nonetheless. it took 40+ minutes for 4 lbs of crawfish to come out of the kitchen. maybe im just used to restaurants that boil crawfish all day long continuously during the season so theres more of a wait to get seated than for the actual seafood. this was just different, no big deal. it was weird being asked if i wanted boiled crawfish that was live or frozen prior to being boiled. crawfish that was frozen prior to being boiled isnt even a thing where im from. geez. i was so confused i had to double check that they were indeed boiled 😂 the shocker was when we got the actual crawfish to find out that the crawfish was not boiled with seasoning & all of the seasoning was in the sauce that the crawfish was drenched in. on top of that, we ordered 2 lbs each. theres no way there was 2 lbs of crawfish in each bag, but perhaps with the sauce it reached 2 lbs. if even. i did appreciate that the levels of spice were accurate. i wanted spicy & i got spicy. as a cajun im used to a level of spice that turns my lips bright red & my nose start running & that did indeed hppen 👍🏼 plus they were a nice size. a few small ones here & there but it wasnt whatever the actual weight was worth of small crawfish.
the spices werent cajun. im like 85% sure there was curry in the sauce but it wasnt really cajun by any means, especially the house "cajun sauce", the allsome sauce.
heres the kicker.. we get the bill & it was almost 80 bucks, not including tip, for 4 lbs of crawfish, a side of sausage, an unsweet tea, & a side of sweet potato fries. we didnt even get the 5 or whatever pieces of sausage. fresno is inland but so is shreveport & i can guarantee from experience shreveport doesnt get to $16 a lb 😬 hattiesburg mississippi has to import their crawfish & it never reaches above $8. smh
there were pros & cons & some thing that were straight up different, but in general.....
Read moreJust right now my family which is a party of 3 walked into the restaurant. Nobody greeted us and obviously they were a little busy but not not busy to the point to not greet us or seat us. All the the booths were taken so. We sat at a bigger table. Finally after a good 20 minutes one of the waiters asked us how big is our party? And I told him I was just the 3 of us and he told me that the big is ment for a bigger party only that they have to move us. I told him it was fine and can we have the booth that they are cleaning right now because the customer just barely left like 30 seconds ago. He said yes that’s fine we are cleaning up right now for you. Then a minute later he comes back and said sorry the booth is for some else. Then I said in a calmly matter ok but we were here before them. And the freaking waiter came at me and said but we normally seat from the front. I freaking told the waiter that there was 3 of you guys manning the dining room…we walked in…no one greeted us…I didn’t see a sign that says wait to be seated..and if there was it was not in the line of sight. I also told him that he was being rude coming at me this way because I’m a customer. I’m sorry but I will never go back there ever again!! Even though I really like the food, we were poorly being mistreated!! And we didn’t even order any food yet!! And...

Ordered drinks. Ordered 2 sodas 4 potatoes, 2 lbs of cleaned shrimp, 1 lb Dungeness crab, 1 lb snow crab and 1 lb king crab. Bill was $186 something so over $200+ with tip. Service not great. Had to wait because no utensils Not only was it boiled alone and sauce thrown on top making it flavorless. The sauce we picked was garlic and butter. Let me tell you calling it a sauce is using the word loosely. It was basically a bunch or raw garlic. It was so bad me and my son's mouths were burning. I didn't even know that was possible. I told the waiter. He said yeah just looking at it it's not good and he checked and it was a new cook. So he confirmed it not offering anything and knowing because I told him were just taking it all home so I can make some kind of sauce and fix it. 🤔 I literally paid over 200 bucks to get our mouths burned and take the food home to fix what I just paid for. 😒 Honestly the most expensive worst experience I have ever had in my life. Ps the music was so loud the staff couldn't hear me and my son got trapped in their bathroom. I never do reviews but it...
