An excellently local, multi-cultural establishment that takes popular American food like chicken tenders and potato wedges to a sophisticated level. There was a bit of a wait to get to the counter, but that’s not the cafe’s fault (*double-take*), and was part of the experience as it gave me plenty of time to look over the menu, which had many items on it and was displayed all over the walls next to the counter. It was hard to pick just a few things! I ordered the chicken and waffles, fish taco platter, and sparkling blue lemonade. While I was waiting for my order (which didn’t take that long), I explored the dining floor a little bit, and saw some bits of positivity like a plaque that said, “Simply blessed,” and another that said, “Happiness is a choice made in advance.” I just love that. They also have a system where if you request a water cup, they give you a clear, plastic cup, but if you order a fountain drink (which included a bunch of authentic Mexican sodas!), they give you a red cup. Clever! The food itself was incredible, easily the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. On the table, there are squeeze bottles of maple syrup, which I added to both the waffle and the chicken, and it took the chicken especially to the next level. I didn’t feel like a kid ordering chicken tenders from a fast food place or an overpriced concession stand, it felt respectful and sophisticated. And it tasted amazing! I went out of my way to compliment the chefs, and they were overjoyed. The fish tacos were great, too. From what I know, the fish in fish tacos are supposed to be kept plain (which it was), as not to overpower the rest of the taco. With the platter came a couple different salsas, and adding them to the tacos made them taste incredible. I don’t recommend eating one of those tacos without salsa because then, most of what you’re gonna be tasting is the corn tortilla. The platter came with some potato wedges too, and they were the best potato wedges I’ve ever had. They were incredibly soft and even flavorful without dipping them in the salsa! The sparkling blue lemonade was utterly unique. I didn’t get a photo of it, but it looked like a work of art, despite being served in a disposable plastic cup. They must have carbonated it somehow because yes! It was indeed sparkling, and very tangy and refreshing. I’m amazed by my experience here. Would definitely love to come back again and bring my friends.

The fam decided on breakfast for dinner so we chose this spot based on previous Yelp reviews. Unfortunately it wasn't at all what we expected. It starts off as an interestingly quaint cafe in a comfy home setting and then you're hit with the 'order before you sit' concept when you first walk in..with the menu chalked on the wall for you to stare at like a lost tourist. But ordering was easy enough since we opted for breakfast...eggs & toast, potatoes, pancakes, French toast.. Blah blah blah bland. The 'french toast w/ strawberries' was eh & was literally decorated with only 1 sliced strawberry on top, the eggs didn't have one spec of seasoning, the toast wasn't toasty, the breakfast potatoes were so hard and over fried I could barely stab them onto my fork!!-with most of them being basically tasteless and empty potato skin shells as if the potato inside was somehow disintegrated during cooking. And the pancakes?! They filled up the plate but again nothing throwing our tastebuds into overdrive. I'm assuming if they can't get a simple breakfast together the other random menu items couldn't possibly be any better.

Upon arriving the procedure for acquiring your food is unclear. There is a large menu on the wall, which you are supposed to know to look at figure out what to order before ever sitting down. Oh, but before you sit down you must walk up to their booth, order, pay AND include a tip for service that may or may not turn out to be worthwhile. Eventually we figured this out with no help from any staff. I ordered a relatively simple dish - the patio breakfast, with eggs sunny side up. How silly of me to expect them to be cooked thoroughly the first time. Perhaps I simply don’t know how to order eggs. We sat on the patio that was lovely - however you had to pick up all your own utensils, and all condiments. Perhaps this was due to operating procedures under new COVID restrictions. I ended up sending my order back to be cooked a different way - to ensure they actually ended up being cooked. They returned my plate to me with eggs fully cooked, yet unseasoned....but with my toast now missing. At this point, I somewhat gave up. The potatoes were delicious.

I don’t normally leave a review but for the customer service I received today warrant it. For the last few weeks I have been placing a to go order. This morning was no different. I called and the phone kept ringing so I looked to make sure I had the right number. I hung up and called back someone answered and asked could they place me on hold and I said of course. A few minutes later someone pick the phone up and then hung it up. I called back and stated I was placed on hold and then someone hung the phone up. There was no apology. I was asked do I want to place an order. I said no and would like to speak with the manager. The manager get on the phone and said it was her that answered the phone, so I asked was she the one that hung the phone up? She stated sorry but they are short staffed. I said so that gives you the right to hang up in a customer face instead of saying sorry we are busy or can you call back, or we are currently not taking orders over the phone something or that nature. I told them they need to work on their customer service. The business is open because of customers if not who will they serve. Customer service is everything. I don’t know if management has changed but I can say I have been going there for many years and as of today i will no longer be a customer and I will make sure that my family and friends know about the...

Great food but the experience we had here on father's day was very inappropriate to say the least. My boyfriend and I have been here plenty of times to prior to father's day to know that the seating here is first come first serve.. The Cafe was very packed for the obvious reason- father's day. My boyfriend and his family finished ordering with the polite cashier, as we proceeded to find a table we saw a perfect fitting table. One that was by the door and had plenty of seating for all 5 of us..As soon as my boyfriend's family (keep in mind they are hispanic and I am Arab) and I approach it we are told we cannot sit there because a family has already claimed that table keep in mind NONE of their stuff was on the table, no one was sitting there, and they were a caucasian family. I proceeded to ask the employee why we couldn't sit there since it was clear the table was open and she responded "because they put the table together" in a rude tone.. it was very clear that the family had just walked in. I simply said "okay but this is a first come first serve restaurant" and was basically shooed away. My boyfriend also mentioning to me that if thats the case with the seating being "saved" for families that had clearly just walked in we could've had a table for us to sit at the minute...
