Apologies for the lengthy post..But i grew so frustrated with this place that I'd like to share.. I’ve been a resident of Frisco for over 15 years. My family and I enjoy visiting downtown Frisco to support local businesses, and Eight 11 has always been one of our favorite spots for its food, drinks, service, and reasonable prices. But it is no longer the place we’ve go back to! Unfortunately, the last three out of four times we've visited, the reservation process has been a complete disaster, and I’ve decided not to return. I’ve never had issues with OpenTable reservations until the fall of 2024. I made a reservation for a group of friends and even called ahead to request seating in the back, as we tend to be loud with conversation and laughter, and I didn’t want to disturb the musician or other guests. When we arrived, we were seated right at the front by the stage. After a few minutes of explaining the situation to the host, we were moved, but not to the location I originally requested, though we did get a new table. The second incident occurred in November 2024 when I went with my husband and daughter. We were seated at a table with a non-working fire pit, and with several empty tables available, I requested to be moved to one with a working fire pit. The waitress repeatedly told me the other tables were reserved, which I understand, but why was it such a problem to move us to an available table? After a long conversation with the waitress and the host, we were finally moved, but it felt very awkward in front of other guests. The third time, I made an OpenTable reservation and received the exact table I requested, which was great! However, the fourth issue occurred on Friday, March 7th of 2025 when I made an OpenTable reservation and specifically requested table #1 in the comments section. When we arrived, the hostess seated us on the side patio with no fire pits, and I explained that this wasn’t the table I had requested. She apologized but said that was all that was available. When I asked about my reservation request, she shrugged it off. I asked to speak with Sheree or Derek, but neither of one of them were there, so the hostess directed me to a manager. I showed him my email confirmation with the "table #1 request", and he told me he didn’t see anything in the system. He also mentioned that OpenTable reservations were still under the old owner's name and weren’t being properly utilized, suggesting it would be better to call for reservations. That was incredibly frustrating, as Eight 11’s website directs customers to OpenTable for reservations! This situation left me confused and frustrated. The first time I made a reservation for my group of friends; my request wasn’t honored (even though I also called!). The second time, I was able to get a table change after a long conversation. The third time, everything went smoothly, but the fourth time was a mess! After standing there, repeatedly trying to explain my request and getting nowhere, we left. I felt extremely embarrassed and humiliated having to "fight" for a table in front of other guests. Why couldn’t we be seated at one of the empty tables? Why are other parties, who haven’t even arrived yet, prioritized over my family and me? It’s hard to believe that every single open table was specifically requested. As much as we love Eight 11, we won’t be returning, and I won’t be recommending it to any...
Read moreI'm always on the lookout for exceptional places that offer not only a delightful culinary experience but also a unique ambiance. I had the pleasure of visiting Eight 11 Place, in the heart of charming downtown Frisco, Texas. This quaint restaurant, set in a beautifully restored historic house, instantly captured my attention with its inviting patio and warm, homey atmosphere.
Upon entering, we were greeted by the wafting aroma of freshly baked flatbreads and an extensive selection of carefully curated wines. The friendly and knowledgeable staff guided us through their wine list, which featured a variety of local and international options, ensuring an adventure for every palate. I was particularly impressed by their commitment to offering a diverse range of choices, from the novice wine drinker to the seasoned connoisseur.
The food menu, though modest, offered a thoughtful selection of artisan flatbreads, salads, and shareable plates, all designed to complement the wine offerings. I opted for the Salmon Board which was a delightful symphony of flavors - the perfect balance of sweet and savory, with an added crunch from the candied pecans. The accompanying pizza was a noteworthy side dish, with their golden, crispy exterior and an irresistible aroma that could charm even the most discerning customer.
As I savored each bite and sipped my Weekend-tini, I couldn't help but be charmed by the live music playing in the background - a delightful blend of jazz, blues, and acoustic tunes that added to the overall ambiance. The interior design, reminiscent of a cozy vintage living room, was adorned with eclectic artwork, comfortable seating, and tasteful lighting, making it a perfect spot for a romantic rendezvous or a casual gathering with friends.
Eight 11 Place has expertly blended the allure of a sophisticated wine bar with the comfort of a neighborhood bistro, creating a hidden gem in the heart of Frisco. It's a haven for wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike, and I eagerly await my next visit to explore more of their culinary creations and wine offerings. A must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable...
Read moreThis was one of the saddest and worst experiences dining in my life. It’s upsetting to write this but I need to warn others because they do NOT deserve business. Sadly, I had my mother meet me here for lunch on a Saturday, a midway point for both of us. There was hundreds of other deserving places we could have enjoyed. I made a reservation for 12pm and she arrived 10 minutes prior to me. I walked in and the place was EMPTY.. which was a concern. We made a joke about it. She said after 10 minutes of being seated, she still didn’t get anything to drink. She walked over to the front entrance and the 3 girls on staff were playing card games! So minutes later we still didn’t get water.. I walked to the front entrance and the blond girl was getting her hair braided! I later found out she is the MANAGER. I said if it is going to be this way, I will take my mother elsewhere, but we are very hungry and please let us know if we’ll get served or not.. the brunette girl who was braiding the managers hair gave me attitude and said our waitress was on the phone taking an order. I said then why not help her? We should have left.. but my Mom now had a headache and just wanted to order soup. We continued being ignored after ordering soup plus a pizza hoping it would get better. It didn’t. The waitress looked like she was in despair. I even asked if she was ok, but she gave me no expression, no communication. We were actually polite after all of this because I wasn’t sure if the waitress was going through a tragedy. At some point, 2 other women were seated and they also couldn’t believe what was happening. They also had to keep getting up for assistance. None of us were being served. Only 4 customers at lunch hour. We couldn’t understand why all 3 girls on staff including a mgr were ignoring us. In the end I found them again playing cards, and said they shouldn’t be opened up for business that day if they couldn’t handle 2 easy tables. In the end the manager discounted the bill. We regretted staying especially since we addressed it early.. and they kept treating us badly. The only nice part was the music...
