Tried this taco shop twice. The first time I ordered the Carne Asada Fries, and the second time I ordered 5 Rolled Tacos and a Bean and Cheese Burrito. The food itself was not very good. I returned for a second time because everyone deserves a second chance, plus I live far away from a good taco shop. Similar to other reviews the Carne Asada meat had no flavor, nor did the rolled tacos. I did not think it was possible for Mexican food to be that bland. The Bean and Cheese Burrito was just a bean burrito (not even a little cheese even though I asked for extra). The second time I went I had a conversation with a friend who was there during which I mentioned that the last time I was there I got the Carne Asada Fries. When I got to the counter I asked for 5 Rolled Tacos and a Bean and Cheese Burrito with extra cheese. I was charged $15.05 which I thought was a bit high, but paid. When I got my order I received Carne Asada Fries and the Burrito. I told the lady at the counter that this was not what I ordered and she responded by saying that I did ordered the fries. I wasn't even at the counter when I said the words "last time I ordered..." to my friend, and the rolled tacos were the first thing I ordered. Mistakes happen, and to their credit they took back the fries and got my original order, correcting the bill as well. Also, they were not rude about it (aside from telling me that I ordered the fries when I didn't at all). On it's own this mix-up wasn't a big deal. I mention it because the combination of that and the food is enough for me to not visit a third time. I understand that their location may result in a majority customer base that stereotypically does not like seasoned food, but I was hoping for more of an authentic taco shop taste, or at the least something more authentic than Taco Cabana. Unfortunately I was disappointed. I will just save my stops at a taco shop for when I'm in South Dallas, or when I visit back home in...
Read moreNice little Taco Shop! No arguments about how good the food is! It appears that, the counter personnel are little out to lunch! Be sure to check your orders, and know exactly what you are ordering, and what comes on and with your order. Case in point! I ordered 7 rolled Taco’s à la cart from the counter person. She asked me, if I wanted to upgrade to the plate, which consisted of Rice and Beans, I said yes. So, when I got my ordered it was locked tight, took me two minutes to unfasten the bag, only to find no eating utensils. To top that off, when I got to my car, I open my order and it's totally covered with lettuce sour cream, tomatoes, and cheese, to extent that, I didn't see any taquitos. After digging a bit, I located the taquitos. Started eating and discovered that, there was no guacamole whatsoever on them. Had to go back into the restaurant and have them give me a side order of guacamole. I asked the counter person. didn’t this order come with guacamole? She went on to tell me that, the à la cart order has guacamole, the plate I ordered doesn’t come with it. She apologize for the mishap. I understand people make mistakes, but it seems like they have a problem with knowing-exactly what they are doing. I ordered the à la cart plate in the first place,So would think that, she would’ve had considered that, when she suggested me getting the dinner plate? What I saw was cheese, tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream that was piled high on top of the taquitoa! It basically ruined the meal. Also the prices appear to be astronomically high for Mexican food, $10 for a burrito? Also they are stingy with their rice and beans, Come on now, how much does rice and beans cost? I think this will be my last visit to Marianas, too much drama, not...
Read moreI remember I was driving around downtown Frisco and out the corner of my eye I saw a little taco place called Mariana’s taco shop and I knew I had to try it. The woman working at the front was very nice and accommodating. I ordered a couple of tacos, flautas, and churros. The tacos were amazing. I got Lengua, carnitas, barbacoa, and fish. The lengua was by far the best, barbacoa and carnitas were also very good, but the fish was alright. The fish taco had too many vegetables for the amount of fish on it. The fish itself wasn’t anything too special. The sauces they gave with the food were amazing as well. I recommend that everyone try the lengua and the churros. This place has the best churros I’ve ever had in my life. Although the tacos were fantastic, the flautas/taquitos weren’t impressive. The chicken in them was pretty dry and unseasoned and compared to the amazing tacos and churros they were pretty lackluster.
Aside from the few the negatives, this is by far the best and most authentic Mexican food I have had in my life, and it’s also cheaper than a lot of the other places around town. My family and I ate too fast for me to take pictures, but the food looked as good as it tasted. I would heavily recommend the lengua taco, and the churro. I will definitely be...
