Ordered a pizza and breadsticks online at 6:18pm for pick up, checked the asap which showed would be ready at 7:30pm, placed order and paid and got a confirmation email that said see you at 8:18pm….so be it we went along with it. Showed up at 8:20pm to a hostile crowd telling us as we walked in….”Good luck”. Made our way to the counter for our pick up by 8:26(because of everyone bringing their orders back due to it was not what they ordered) and was told by a young gentleman that our order was not ready, 2 hours to make a pizza and that wasn’t enough time???? We decided to wait as the young gentleman explained they were not ready to open and we’re not prepared to handle call ins, online orders and people coming in to order…that is a management/ownership problem for not preparing the hired staff, or hiring a staff that was incapable of the job. As more and more grumbles in the crowd and visiting with other paying customers that had been waiting 90 minutes to 130 minutes as well as we had, our name was called, we went to the counter at 8:34pm to retrieve our pizza and cheese bread to be handed our pizza…I asked about our $10 cheese bread we ordered and was told, oh, do you still want that? I said yes, we PAID for it online..the young fella looked up our receipt and said oh yes, it is almost ready and if we don’t mind waiting it will be right out….reluctantly we said fine, they put our pizza back under the heat lamp while we waited for our bread…more and more people continued taking their orders up to counter because they were incorrect, people started asking for refunds so they could go elsewhere and actually get served…20 minutes passed and I went back to counter and asked about our bread sticks and said oh yes, they will be going into the oven shortly….WHAT??? I said I will go ahead and take my pizza and you can refund me the breadsticks… after they located my pizza they handed it to me me and said thanks. I asked for a refund for our breadsticks that we paid for and did not receive and they young gentleman said you got it. I asked for a receipt to show that for my records and he said they can’t do that, just trust him….uhhh no! So another kid with crazy hair and some type of infant hat on his head asked if there was a problem??? I explained the situation and he said they would refund the whole order. I said that was not necessary I would just like the breadsticks that we did not received to be taken off the bill, and with a horrible attitude he said dude we will do it!! I said great, can you print that receipt showing that and he said absolutely not, that is not the way it works there and at the end of the night they would go through all the refunds and make their decisions then but could not give us anything confirming what they were saying. I had the unprofessional kid right his name and refund on my receipt, it was like he did not now his own name and I am sure put a fake name down, threw the receipt over the counter to the ground…..I picked it up and walked out as many other people were having the issues and asking for refunds and walking out!!! Got home, the pizza was just mediocre, could have been better if the bottom of the crust was not burnt black like a bad piece of toast. Needless to say, that was a ONE and DONE never again just like at least 40 others we spoke to that dealt with the same problems we did tonight!!! Good luck!!! Which was the common theme amongst the...
Read moreWe used to get Donatos pizza at Red Robin when we lived close to one, and I loved it. When I saw they were opening a location by our house, I was excited to try them! We were lucky enough to be at their soft opening. We got large "the works" and "serious meat" both on thin crust. I did order mushrooms on only half of the "the works" pizza, and it was put on the whole thing, but it's not a huge deal. I think they were still ironing iut some kinks, as they just opened. The pizzas were nice and hot and the thin crust is great. We did not dine in, but we did sit there to wait for our order and spoke with multiple employees who were all very friendly and helpful. I would totally visit again, and like the pizza better than some of the other pizza restaurants around here that we have tried. The location is not huge with only about 6 tables and only 2 restrooms total, but it was nice and clean. They have alot more thab pizza on the menu, but I have not tried any of those items, but I plan on it.
*edit we have now also tried the bone-in wings. While we really really love their pizza, the wings just did not do it for me at all. They were not crispy at all, soggy soft skin, and the bbq sauce as well as the ranch did not hit the spot for me unfortunately. The ranch reminds me of Italian dressing for some reason. We will be sticking to pizza, as it is still one of our fav...
Read moreSo I feel bad leaving this review because being from Ohio it’s one of my favorites and I was so excited to see we now had Donatos here. The dine in space was smaller than I’m used to. The service seemed slow they were nice but lacking some organization. People were standing in line for a while.. so a good thing they’re busy but they needed a few more people working.
The food was great tasted just as I remembered which made me very happy. A strong dislike is only having the option for 20oz bottle sodas at close to $3 a piece. I guess a 2 liter would work if I wasn’t the only person in my family who hates Diet Pepsi which they drink. I know it’s new around here but people drink Coke and like fountain drinks especially with pizza.
Last thing it has been chilly outside so being cold wasn’t really anyone’s fault but the bathroom had ZERO toilet paper and it must have been that way for a while because both rolls were empty.
I would order pizza to go if in the area of but probably won’t dine in again..and if I do I will bring my own drink. The location works great if I meet family half way between where we live. So with all that said I’m so glad you’re now in DFW I’m just not sure how often I will...
