Kailash Parbat – Authentic North Indian Vegetarian Experience in Texas
Kailash Parbat is a well-known North Indian vegetarian restaurant chain with a presence across major cities in India. When they opened their first location in Texas, I was excited to try it—and I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint!
Reservation & Wait Times (As of July 2025): They currently do not take reservations, and the crowd can get overwhelming, especially on weekends. I recommend arriving right at opening time around 6 PM or being prepared to wait about an hour during peak hours.
Ambience: The ambience is pleasant and inviting. The 6-seater sofa seating was very comfortable and spacious, with enough room to accommodate all the dishes comfortably.
Service: Service was prompt, especially for the chaats and drinks. The main course was served at a reasonable pace. During busier times, service might vary, but overall it was acceptable.

Dishes We Enjoyed: • Bhindi Mirch Masala: A must-try! Perfectly spiced and flavorful. Highly recommended. • Palak Paneer: One of the better versions I’ve had in the Frisco area. While not the absolute best, it was still very good and enjoyable—especially when hot! • Tandoori Roti, Garlic Chilli Naan & Butter Naan: All were excellent and as expected from a North Indian restaurant. The Garlic Chilli Naan stood out as my personal favorite—exactly the way I like it. • Chaat Platter: Tasty and a good way to sample a variety of items. However, the bhel slightly overpowered the other elements. I’d recommend ordering individual chaat items if you’re a group of 3 or more to enjoy them more distinctly. • Sweet & Salty Lemon Soda: Refreshing and paired wonderfully with the spicy Bhindi dish. • Masala Chaas: Flavorful with a subtle spicy kick—refreshing and authentic. • Chole Bhature: The bhature were soft and nicely made, and the chole were decent. While not on par with the Amritsari Chole Kulche at a nearby restaurant on Independence (which I consider the best in the area), this version was still satisfying.
⸻
Not Our Favorites: • Papdi Chaat: A bit too sour and heavily soaked in curd—not to our taste. • Masala Papad: Lacked punch—bland and missing the expected spice and masala flavor. • Pav Bhaji: The bhaji wasn’t fully mashed as traditionally expected, and the flavor was a bit underwhelming. It could use more richness and depth. • Guava Chilli Drink: Tasted like packaged guava juice and didn’t live up to its menu description.

Final Verdict: If you’re looking for authentic North Indian vegetarian food in Texas, Kailash Parbat is a great spot—especially for families. While a few items fell short of expectations, the overall experience, service, and many standout dishes make it...
