Kailash Parbat – Authentic North Indian Vegetarian Experience in Texas

Kailash Parbat is a well-known North Indian vegetarian restaurant chain with a presence across major cities in India. When they opened their first location in Texas, I was excited to try it—and I’m happy to say it didn’t disappoint!

Reservation & Wait Times (As of July 2025): They currently do not take reservations, and the crowd can get overwhelming, especially on weekends. I recommend arriving right at opening time around 6 PM or being prepared to wait about an hour during peak hours.

Ambience: The ambience is pleasant and inviting. The 6-seater sofa seating was very comfortable and spacious, with enough room to accommodate all the dishes comfortably.

Service: Service was prompt, especially for the chaats and drinks. The main course was served at a reasonable pace. During busier times, service might vary, but overall it was acceptable.

⸻

Dishes We Enjoyed: • Bhindi Mirch Masala: A must-try! Perfectly spiced and flavorful. Highly recommended. • Palak Paneer: One of the better versions I’ve had in the Frisco area. While not the absolute best, it was still very good and enjoyable—especially when hot! • Tandoori Roti, Garlic Chilli Naan & Butter Naan: All were excellent and as expected from a North Indian restaurant. The Garlic Chilli Naan stood out as my personal favorite—exactly the way I like it. • Chaat Platter: Tasty and a good way to sample a variety of items. However, the bhel slightly overpowered the other elements. I’d recommend ordering individual chaat items if you’re a group of 3 or more to enjoy them more distinctly. • Sweet & Salty Lemon Soda: Refreshing and paired wonderfully with the spicy Bhindi dish. • Masala Chaas: Flavorful with a subtle spicy kick—refreshing and authentic. • Chole Bhature: The bhature were soft and nicely made, and the chole were decent. While not on par with the Amritsari Chole Kulche at a nearby restaurant on Independence (which I consider the best in the area), this version was still satisfying.

⸻

Not Our Favorites: • Papdi Chaat: A bit too sour and heavily soaked in curd—not to our taste. • Masala Papad: Lacked punch—bland and missing the expected spice and masala flavor. • Pav Bhaji: The bhaji wasn’t fully mashed as traditionally expected, and the flavor was a bit underwhelming. It could use more richness and depth. • Guava Chilli Drink: Tasted like packaged guava juice and didn’t live up to its menu description.

⸻

Final Verdict: If you’re looking for authentic North Indian vegetarian food in Texas, Kailash Parbat is a great spot—especially for families. While a few items fell short of expectations, the overall experience, service, and many standout dishes make it...

🌟 Restaurant Review – A Colorful Celebration of Indian Street Food 🌟

If you’re a fan of authentic Indian flavors and vibrant presentation, this spot deserves a top place on your foodie checklist! Here’s what we tried:

📸 1. Vada Pav – The Iconic Mumbai Bite Soft, pillowy buns sandwiching a perfectly spiced potato fritter, layered with a medley of chutneys and generously topped with crispy sev. The cherry on top? Literally – a fun twist with a cherry garnish! Served with a side of chutney, it’s a nostalgic street food treat elevated with flair.

📸 2. Chole Bhature – North Indian Royalty on a Plate Golden, puffed-up bhature that are crispy yet airy, paired with a rich, flavorful chickpea curry. The portion is hearty, the spice is just right, and the plating is nothing short of grand. A must-have for anyone who enjoys a satisfying, comfort-packed meal.

📸 3. Raj Kachori Chaat – A Flavor Explosion This bowl is a festival of taste and texture. The crisp shell is generously filled with yogurt, chutneys, sev, pomegranate, and fresh herbs, creating the perfect harmony of sweet, tangy, and spicy notes. Every bite feels like a celebration.

🛋️ Ambience The interior is colorful, modern, and inspired by Indian pop art and cultural motifs. It feels lively, fresh, and perfect for casual dining or family get-togethers.

📍Final Verdict If you’re craving real Indian street food flavors with beautiful presentation and a cozy atmosphere, this place nails it! Each dish we tried was bursting with authenticity and served with style. Highly recommend for both newcomers and lovers of...
