When we entered, the host warmly greeted us and asked to give good reviews of their restaurant. I was impressed by the ambience and I really wanted to give good review. But after eating their food, I’m not sure why the rating is 4+ for this restaurant. It is just hype but there is no reason why anyone should try this restaurant. We later realized that’s the strategy they use to make customers order more food. We ordered filter coffee that was not piping hot and became cold in a minute, Sweet corn soup that’s just above room Temperature and is no where near our expectation. It had hard corn pieces in corn flour filled liquid, lacks flavor and seasoning. Cauliflower 65 was good. Then came Kumbhakarna dosa that filled the table. Even though we told them to delay dosa until we munch on appetizer they don’t seem to understand. Dosa was good on the ends but as you start eating it is very dry and tasted like nothing. I guess they rationed the use of oil. The chutneys were horrible and Sambar was cold. Ginger chutney was good. Ordered Chilly garlic Naan and malai Methichaman curry. The naan was so badly made that few pieces are dense and undercooked, few were thin paper like and hard. Methichaman was so so. The disappointment was when we got Veg keema biryani that hardly had 2 tsp of veg keema pieces. It is nothing but just rice soaked with heavy dose of spices. On the whole we regret our decision to have visited the place. No one ate the biryani and we packed the left overs which eventually got wasted. We did tell them about the soup, dosa and biryani but they did not seem to care. Most of the restaurants offer to prepare another dish or do not charge the customers. This restaurant lacks business ethic and responsibility. They just know to charge customers but don’t care to serve quality product. They did not give us dinner plates and when asked the cleaning crew with gloves they used for cleaning got them. They are more concerned about cleaning our table than wait until we finish our meal. That is very rude. I usually don’t rate every restaurant but our dinner was not pleasant and we had to stop on our way to buy food at another food chain. My advice is to stay away from this place. Check with your friends and family who visited this place before going to this restaurant. Dallas has huge Indian population and the attitude of restaurants has become casual in treating their customers. Whoever is reading this review, if you know a good place that serves quality South Indian food, please comment below. Plus: Ambiance, host Minus: food quality, taste and serving size, cleaning crew, lack of customer service

We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant for a while. The menu looked extensive but nothing different. They don’t have a physical menu, instead you scan a QR code to get the menu. I don’t know if I like this option or not. While I know the menu cards have a lot of germs it beats the point of “fine-dining”. The restaurant had a such a cool wibe, the no menu card, no cloth napkins sort of beats it. The food itself was good. The restaurant was empty which was strange since the past few times it was full. The food arrived fast and we were surprised how fast it came. The dahi puri was probably the best dish we tried. For the first time I felt like the proportion of dahi to the other fillings was appropriate. The dahi was cold but not too cold as to freeze your mouth and teeth. The paneer 65 (I think) we ordered was crispy and tasty. It wasn’t spicy and even the kids enjoyed it. The mint chutney it was accompanied it was okay - it was nice. The bhature and chole were good. We also ordered paneer tikka masala and garlic naan (not pictured) which were good. The paneer tikka masala wasn’t too spicy and was a little sweet then I would have preferred. The idli was soft and nice. It accompanied well with the different chutneys. The onion masala dosa was a little crispy and soft. The sambar tasted good. Overall the taste of all the dishes were very good. We loved most of the dishes that we ordered and we would probably order the same again and again. But it would be a delight to try new stuff at this restaurant. Definitely worth a visit if you are in DFW area.

We had an extremely well made South Indian breakfast here today! This is a relatively new branch though the original one in Atlanta was started by Owners in 2002. In fact they are amongst the few Indian places to have opened in the US and are only now opening branches batches back in India! The Masala Dosa. Onion Uttapam, the Idli’s and Vada were all made very authentically and with the most traditional taste. The chutneys too - peanut, coconut and tomato (spicy!) were all made very fresh while the Sambar was served piping hot which brought all items together to make this the most memorable breakfast for us after moving to Texas! The filter coffee too was on point with correct amount of decoction and sweetness! We were very well served by Karthik and Divya , both of whom kept us engaged wile our food was being prepared . And now about the ambience - serene Indian classical flute music being played over their sound system and the high ceiling seating area with wonder wall art and large chandeliers that vied with light pouring in through the large ceiling to floor wondered made is a most welcoming and happy place to be and enjoy a meal. We are looking to enjoying all this again very soon ! Next visit : Another stellar breakfast at Sri Krishna Vilas! We had the Idlis. Masala Dosa and the Oniion Uttapam! Everything’s from the dishes to the Samar to the chutneys were made fresh and served piping hot . We could not ask for more! Ambience remains quiet and inviting at opening time!

TLDR: If you care about what is going into your body please don’t eat here. Staff is negligent and irresponsible.

If I could give this restaurant a 0 star review I would. If you have any kind of food allergy or food restriction PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE. We asked the waitress several times if anything had specific nuts that I delineated I was allergic too. She reassured us that everything we ordered did not have nuts and the items that did like peanut chutney with dosa would be amended. 5 minutes after the food arrived I felt a tingling in my mouth and throat started to swell. At that moment, I turned to the nearest employee and asked him to confirm if anything we ordered contained peanuts. He insisted that nothing we ordered had any peanuts but we begged him to check as my symptoms got worse. He finally goes to the kitchen and he returns with what seems to be the owner/manager and after a several more minutes of baffling around asking his employees he finally says ‘yes there actually is peanuts in that dish’ ‘they add it for taste’ At this point no staff is apologizing and they are just quiet with their heads hung and at some point they disperse. The waitress comes back smiling saying ‘Sorry sir!’

I have never been so infuriated by restaurant employees. We simply stood up and left as my symptoms were getting worse and worse.

Everyone makes mistakes but the lack of responsibility, remorse, and pure negligence makes this mistake unforgiveable.

As a cherry on top it was birthday and the staff...
